Nicehash didn't work on my D9 (maybe because I went through MRR?)

Have mine on Luxor atm, reports 1.75-1.95th/s... Has anyone compared Luxor to Coinmine?

I first had mine on suprnova but the reported hashrate seemed lower than it should be.. even less than Luxor

I still have mine going through MRR first.. I wonder if going straight to the pool without MRR would increase hashrate?

I've never had issues using MRR as a proxy, but it sure wouldn't hurt to try a direct connection.  Let us know what you find out.

Thank you all for the input, I appreciate it.  I'm not sure why I forgot about Parallelminer, as I ordered power adapters from them recently.

How did you hear about the drop in operating temperature from Canaan?  We run ours at around 35c, so this is news to me too.  Let me know.

Thanks again!

I was about to purchase an 841 and noticed it said 30C on the website, and did a double take on the Canaan website to verify that indeed it is now 30C instead of 40C.
Checked the 821 which I knew 100% was 40C just a few days ago as I was showing it to a friend, and that too is now listed at 30C.
Posted about it on Blokforge's forum post, but it was deleted.  Was honestly just curious about it before buying more from them but now they are not within range for myself or any business friends.
Thanks for that.  I'll keep my eyes peeled for updates on that.

Cheers.

Hello!

I am compiling a list of ASIC distributors and would love some feedback.  So far we've included the Canaan Creative NA distributors which includes BlokForge and MinerWarez.

Who else in North America should I include?  Looking for companies with a proven record of shipping products.  If you know of a company (or are affiliated yourself) please let me know.  If you want to shoot me a private DM, that works, too.

Cheers.

These miners have surprisingly exact same design and exact same technical specifications as the Dragonmint altcoin miners.  Roll Eyes
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3345156.0

Innosilicon equals Halong Mining.

Ref.,
in some car brands and models, including the VW Up that I have,
VW Up, Seat Mii, Skoda Citigo. Three different car brands,
but this is the exact same vehicle.

Different brand name, but the product is same.

I was about to post the same; these newly released Blake miners have the exact same specs as the Halong counterparts.  Never mind the fact that they look the exactly the same, too.

At this point I wonder if Inno is going to spin off their crypto business.  They build other electronic devices as well, perhaps this is a move to "realign" both brands.

I shot them an email to pick their brain, we'll see if they respond!

I know this is a crazy question, but can anyone let me know if this device supports the cgminer API set like the S9 does?

Cheers.

Yea it does . it use CGminer as the soft ware miner .

Can you set the access control for the API, e.g. specify which IP can write and which can only read?  I didn't see a section in the screenshots that shot a place to input that information.

Cheers.

Good review. Pls update us after few weeks how’s the performance ?
Also QUESTION: Since you opened the Miner , did you see SAMSUNG on any off the chips ? Curious to find out what the manufacturer or manufacturing process 10nm or 7nm??
Looks like there are heat sinks on both sides, you would have to pry them off of whatever adhesive they used.  I would hate to break a new toy.

Can you give me an easy way to test for what you want?
I don't have full access to them from where I am now, but if it's simple I can try to carve out sometime tomorrow or Tuesday.

I can't find a good image on Google to point you towards.  Maybe a screenshot of the advanced setting tab?  I'm running Avalons now or I would post a screen myself.

Cheers.

821 price predicition for distributors

For 821  you can consider that the price could be anywhere between 3000 and 4000  per machine.

Avalon  841 release:

The 841  should start shipping in the March April time frame. Performance should range around 13TH and 12 Watts.

Not sure where you got your data but I wouldnt be sharing that information since it is not true.

He received it from the manufacturer, as did I.  Why do you feel it's not true?

im interested with these new avalon miner but I have a question
does the 7 (i guess the 8 will have the same logic) push or pull the air from the fan

I use currently duct shroud for my s7 and would like to keep using this for my next avalon miner

thanks

It pulls air from the single fan.

Does anyone know if these A8 can comingle on the same controller as A741 or do they need their own?
The only difference between these miners appears to be the number of chips on each hash board.
(With exception of the A8 integrated power supply)

I don't believe the A8 model has an integrated power supply.  The last Chinese-only version of the A7 apparently did, but I don't see the same verbiage in the description of the A8.  Feel free to correct me.

I will be running my Avalon 741 with 2 PSU's.  It will be the Corsair https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-cx-series-modular-cx750m-750w-atx-power-supply-black/8324202.p?skuId=8324202&ref=212&loc=1&ksid=ed5a8a30-708b-481a-b8fe-4b26a5dac4ab&ksprof_id=8&ksaffcode=pg199269&ksdevice=c&lsft=ref:212,loc:2

My question is that these PSU's only come with 2 dual PCI-E cables.  So I will have 4 PCI-E connections coming from each PSU.  I will have one PCI-E connector not being used.

Will this work?  Does anyone have a link to an Avalon 741 running off of two PSU's?

This will work, just make sure one PSU powers one blade and the other PSU powers the second blade.  DO NOT have two PSUs connected to the same blade.

I guess after testing A8 they will be splitted in slow 761 for China and fast A8 for rest of the world.

No, if you look at the specs for both machines the A8 is using different chips.

Correct.  Steve has said that they have sold different models to Asia in the past.  I believe the 761 falls into that category.

Slush has been running @ 109% for the last 250 blocks.  It's a great pool and worth your serious consideration.

Thank you for pointing me to the right pool, just tested both BTC,com and Slush, definitely Slush bring more return follow by BTC, I already left Antpool out of the equation.

I'm glad you did the math for yourself!  It's important to understand how you get paid in any business.

Slush pool has been really great, I wish I had been using it from day one.

Just got an email from Blokforge, a US distributor:

Quote
*Please be aware that the Avalon 761 is for the China market only and will not be the next generation of miner in the US.  Any changes or updates will be sent out via our newsletter and posted in our forum at BLOKFORGE.COM.

Looks like the A8 will be the next device available outside of China.  I was advised that we would have more details next week regarding pricing and specs.

Cheers.

Roll Eyes   you are a few years late for btcguild

Well I search btcguild and got BTC.com as reply, that is the one I am using now and definitely is paying more than Antpool, around 0.00016 more daily than Antpool. And in the last 2 days no delays or "abominable" other things happening. Will see.
I maybe try Slush latter in the week just to compare.

Is it normal that Avalon 741 restart more often? Mine Avalon restart even when it's at 37 degree Celsius. Thanks

ReUp for answers

Mine have never restarted automatically, but I’ve not seen them get over 34... usually run 29-31.
Is there anyway we could the miner log to see what the problem caused it restarted. Mine restarted at -2 voltage in every 30 mins average
If you could screenshot the miner Log or copy and paste it to this thread, everyone can have a look at it, and perhaps see your problem
Please take a look and help me out. Thanks all

Having compared yours with mine, the only big difference I noticed is that your's ECHU is [16 0 0 0] where mine is [0 0 0 0]. Tried searching what that means, but couldn't find anything, maybe some other member can clarify. Also have you tried running it with a voltage offset of 0? Just curious what it would give then.
I ran it at -2. If i set it at 0, it will restart after 5-10 mins

Look at the System Log tab, that might provide some clues. See what's happening around the time the hashrate is dropping to zero. Maybe there is something happening with dhcpd, etc.
The 741 has a watchdog running that will reboot the system ~5 minutes if it hasn't sent work or if the ASIC stops responding or if the cgminer API isn't accessible to the local host.  If the machine reboots on voltage of 0, it's likely that the ASIC is dropping a board (or a row of chips) prompting the watchdog to reboot.  Swap your PSU and see if that helps.

That said, have you made any changes to the API addresses in the cgminer config tab?  That one drove me crazy for a day...  127.0.0.1 must have access to the API, default is "W:", but I'm not sure if it needs write access.

Good luck!

My best guess is that they are using past history, so last week someone mining would have income of $203.58, but past day only $23.41  That would explain why the monthly is so far off also...
Can someone explain to me how Nicehash comes up with those numbers? If for instance, I do 23.41/day * 7(week) = 163.87.  Now where 203.58 USD come from. This is just one example. Thanks for the explanation.
...
Please note that these values are only estimations - real values can be lower or higher. Exchange rate of 1 BTC = 5715.4 USD was used.
I can't find it now, but IIRC they use the data from the last 24 hours.

Not quite sure if anyone experience this problem. My last batch of 60 avalons had pretty much 50% dead AUC3 converters. The little light turns on but the green/blue light doesn't.

Anyone got the same problem? Anyone know how to fix these little buggers?
Do you have them plugged directly into the controller?
