Found this Coppercoin when looking at what my L3+ dug up while working for Zpool. With the low difficulty, thought I'd run over and mine directly for awhile to see what happens.

Can someone help to educate me on something... I'm 6-7 months into mining now, still learning by the day...

One the Coppercoin pool site:  http://us01.coppercoin.net/getting_started   --- they list different ports for different difficulties. I'm assuming this is some kind of pool level difficulty setting? More powerful machines should be set to higher difficulty rates? How to know which is the most efficient for the hardware you have?

Port: 3008, Diff: 8 Port: 3032, Diff: 32 Port: 3256, Diff: 256 Port: 3257, Diff: 8192 Port: 3258, Diff: 131072

Thanks in advance... always learning.

The idea is to find a balance between finding and requesting blocks. If your machine is requesting blocks too frequently, it will spend more time sending and receiving and less time mining. If your machine is spending too long mining and getting a lot of rejections, it is because others are beating you to results.

So start in the middle since you have an L3+ and let it run for 24hrs, then move up one level and see what the results look like and then make a decision to stay, go back down or try another increase. Rinse, repeat Smiley

Tips welcome. CopperCoin: CMTE8FqB9N89jV4QgTeXvUm3WftAVu9FBU

From .00004 low, $HMP #HMP is now trading at .001 with liquidity increasing, great sign we are headed much higher.

you need to turn 'on' mining, yes.

For the commandline/shortcut startup field, add:  -gen=1 -genproclimit=-1 (that will turn on mining (gen) and use all processors/cores available (genproclimit)

$RMTN #Hempcoin has announced the release of a new wallet version.

The new hempcoin wallet is said to be more secure, more stable and most importantly some compatibility issues have been resolved.

Miners are advised to install the new version as soon possible because the block reward from the old wallet versions will be rejected by the blockchain as from July 2nd 2016.

To download the new version of the hempcoin wallet please click
here http://www.hempcoin.com/download-hemp-purse and select your Operating system.

I will try c-multi but when I switch to HTTP I wouldn't get any response from the server if I recall, that's why I switched to stratum.

I thought I got to this thread from c-multi when I asked about SJ being compiled in, being possible for a noob to do...  but maybe it was a different cpuminer thread. will check. do u know if c-multi has precompiled windows binaries? ty

https://github.com/tpruvot/cpuminer-multi/releases

You could also ask the coin's devs how to mine. Many wallets have a built in miner.

Thanks for the link. I was close, but in the wrong author's github page. The purse does have a built in miner but wanted to see if cpuminer would be more efficient. I will sent a request to the devs pending the outcome of testing the c-multi. Thank you again.

If i use scryptjane:17 it says unknown also... if I use 16 I get the same stratum_recv_line failed...

I am trying to set this up using my wallet/purse as a server (currently no HMP pool that I know of). I know the port is open and listening otherwise it would give a fail to connect error and a port scan shows it is listening.

When using 16, or plain scryptjane (or scrypt)

cpuminer-amd -a scryptjane:16 -o stratum+tcp://10.0.0.5:33333 -u tfp -p p

Terminate batch job (Y/N)?

if I don't ctrl-c, it just keeps showing the recv_line failed/retry continually...

I am guessing it is something with the wallet/server setup that isn't working right with the separate mining setup. I even set it to allow all ip's, same thing.

hempcoin.conf
rpcuser=tfp
rpcpassword=p
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=10.0.0.*
rpcallowip=*
rpcport=33333
server=1

Appreciate the help/ideas/etc

1. Wallet mining does not use stratum protocol

2. cpuminer-opt only supports stratum mining

In other words you can't mine from the wallet with cpuminer-opt.

Since the SJ in cpuminer-opt is not optimized you could try cpuminer-multi and get the same performance that cpuminer-opt
offers. It might work for wallet mining but use http not stratum+tcp.

I will try c-multi but when I switch to HTTP I wouldn't get any response from the server if I recall, that's why I switched to stratum.

I thought I got to this thread from c-multi when I asked about SJ being compiled in, being possible for a noob to do...  but maybe it was a different cpuminer thread. will check. do u know if c-multi has precompiled windows binaries? ty

When i try script:n with n=17, I get unknown algo.

I am trying to mine hempcoin/hmp outside of the wallet/purse. Still trying to find the right setup. Scryptjane loads but I get stratum_recv_line failed error  when pulling from server setup purse. So thought maybe scrypt:17 but that errors out as unknown also.

From the BCT thread: "Algorithm: Scrypt (Pos/PoW)". Did you try that?

That is for THC The Hempcoin.  Scrypt-Jane is HMP Hempcoin. A different coin.

I did try just Scrypt but I get the same error  'stratum_recv_line failed'.

scryptjane works for me at nicehash:

./cpuminer -a scryptjane:16 -o stratum+tcp://scryptjanenf16.usa.nicehash.com:3348

Post your session showing the command line, startup messages and failure.

I think stratum errors are likely a problem with the stratum server at the pool. Even when I specify the wrong NF
at nicehash it still hashes but only produces rejects, I don't get stratum errors.

If i use scryptjane:17 it says unknown also... if I use 16 I get the same stratum_recv_line failed...

appreciate your work. Is there a way for a noob to compile scrypt-jane support into your latest optimized cpuminer? Thanks.

cpuminer-opt (see sig) supports scrypt-jane and many other algos.

Thank you. Will check into it.

Evidence Cannabis Sativa, INC owns $THC and not $HMP

Cannabis Sativa, INC reports "At March 31, 2016, the Company has possession of 110,000,000 hempcoins.  Hempcoins are reported as digital currency.  Every 10 hempcoins are backed by 1 share of Rocky Mountain Inc (RMTN).  At March 31, 2016 the value of hempcoins was $18,267 computed by converting first to bitcoin and then to US Dollars. (See Note 1)."

110,000,000 THC = USD $18,267 (which is what they reported to the SEC, see link below)
110,000,000 HMP = USD $127,837

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1360442/000144586616002155/cannabissativa10q03312016.htm

Did Cannabis Sativa, INC make a mistake on that document and report the wrong value?

Incorrect, Cannabis Sativa owns HMP not THC. You can quickly validate this by looking at largest coin holders... HMP has a 110M holder, THC's largest is just under 12M.

I hope something does come of THC for those holding. But trying to clear the misunderstanding/incorrect filing info.

$HMP #HMP steadily up-trending on http://www.coinmarketcap.com and #hmp/#btc has seen some big spikes and dips, but average sees it moving up nicely over the past few months.

$RMTN the company owning #HempCoin, is trading 0.14 x 0.158 . as hempcoin gains value, expecting the stock to follow as well.
