We have major banks involved so manipulation will most likely come from them. The owners of Ripple could also make a fortune fom it by manipulation if they so choose.

I find it absolutely insane what  humans will do to other humans in the name of religion, any religion.
We are truly the worst species of life this planet will ever see.

Although I support the death penalty under certain circumstances, I don't think it should be a public even in any society.
My reasoning is this: In certain parts of the world violence and bloodshed are every day occurrences and these people are not deterred by seeing or hearing that someone has been sentenced to death. I do however believe that the law abiding part of society does not need these criminals amongst them. They should not be expected to pay for their incarceration. Bluntly, any society does not want or need these people amongst the population.

I therefore believe that anyone found guilty of crimes such as pre-meditated murder, rape and paedophillia should just be removed from society and disposed of quietly to rid society of them.

Any and all religions are there to control a section of the population in some way. If a bit of research is done, all religions have terribly violent and barbaric roots, even Christianity.
No religion, person or entity should have the right to dictate to you what you may eat, drink or think, that is just a means of controlling us.

Precisely! Any currency that is "controlled" by a selected entity will be manipulated to benefit that entity at the end of the day.
No to centralised currencies!

As a newbie here and fairly new to the crypto world, I have always considered crypto currencies as a huge leap of faith. Let's face it, BTC only exists because of a few people's blind faith that it does. If the internet were to be shut down tomorrow (it is possible), BTC would disappear int thin air.
However, a proper solution is needed to replace the current fiat currency system we have urgently.

The best solution is a crypto because of its decentralised nature making it immune to manipulation but one that is also backed by something physical that you would be left with should the digital version vanish for any reason.
Yesterday the UNITY coin was launched, it ticks all the boxes of being decentralised and will be backed by physical assets. I am surprised something like this hasn't been done before. It's a simple yet brilliant idea. Too early to tell right now but I would keep an eye on this one for sure...

We all live in a holographic universe. What you believe is what you will perceive.
In other words, if you believe the world is flat, you will find proof that it is flat and likewise if you believe the earth is round, you will find proof thereof.
Not necessarily my opinion but just another option.

I just did a bit of research and came up with the same conclusion. Any centralised currency, be it fiat or crypto can and will be manipulated at some point. It always has and always will be. Greedy human behavior hasn't changed in a million years, why should it now?

People are waking up to the reality that the paper they have in their pockets called money is actually worthless and losing value all the time.
As the previous poster said, no government can stop the entire population from choosing their own form of currency to prevent themselves from being used, enslaved and ripped off by the ponsi commonly known as the monetary system.
Just my $0.02 worth...and we all know what that is worth...

Its about time a crypto currency was launched that was supported by more than blind faith and the existence of the internet.
I am happy to see this token launched!
