About six weeks ago there were a few people here dissing Slush and the pool. I ran an experiment and moved half of my hashing to BTC Guild. Almost exactly the same payout from both. Moving all back to Slush today.

I do have a small concern though, my payout on one block was 0. Where did you all say support questions should be posted for the pool, his Facebook account or something?

Good point - the odds still work out at around 1 in 1000000, but as Terry Pratchett once wrote, million-to-one chances happen nine times out of ten.

I still wonder if the contents of some blocks can make the difficulty vary significantly from the assigned difficulty though. Perhaps there is a weakness in (double) SHA256 where hash collisions are more likely with certain values?

liston i went to bed at 2:00am and woke up at 12:00 pm.  I am in the bedroom getting dressed thinking about the situation at hand.

I hath earned more in this period of time than I hath in a day with mt.slush.

Based on this information I am looking after number 1 and decideth to stick on BTC guild until i die.

It hath given me more information than any other pool in the world.  The blocs are steady and frequent and stabol i cannot ask for more than that.

BTC dose not mess me about and in return i do not mess it about i respect it all.

As I've said before. When it comes to Slush Pool, only look at it once or twice a day to see if you payouts on the stats page are reasonably consistent, say +-10%. And, that your miners are close to the expected hashrate. Do not try and check the math. the computer is smarter than you and doing this will only make ya crazy.

Those guys can bail as long as what's left stays lucky, my share is up.   If you're really disenfranchised with mining feel free to burn your rigs in protest.

I'm so sick of this. I leave slush and go to another pool, check on slush without pointing the miners back to slush, see that the block times are like 1 hour and less for the most part. Proceed to point the miners back to slush, and now we are back in the fucking 11's and 15 hours.

I'm so sick of this conspiracy bullshit.

Personally I'm less concerned with the pool's luck percentages and more concerned with the price of Bitcoins lately.

And the pool hashrate is klimbing back until the next strike of bad luck and complaints

Is there a pool that is doing better? For example, I looked at the BitMinter's stats, https://bitminter.com/blocks , and they look like they've been having lots of long blocks also.

I have never used anything but Slush so I don't know what other pools are even worth considering if someone were to "jump ship". Am I correct in assuming that by joining one of the largest pools, that because of hashrate the larger pools get more rewards more often, but also that the rewards are also divided up into that many more pieces and so one's daily net would not really change except to vary with luck, the same as to just stay at Slush?
