So,

No Dev support, no Exchange support for this coin any more? It was a diffrerent coin when started but then became a dead coin ?  Sad

What happened was tripmode made a bunch of money.

The opposite - I lost my entire stash of bitcoins in the early days renting hashing to keep the coin going and after that I lost the rest paying for hosting. And I lost all my time fighting hacking attempts. After losing my virtual wealth I just couldn't afford to spend any "real" money to pay to market the coin. Sorry it didn't work out guys but I swear on both my children I didn't make a dime and actually lost money (albeit virtual money) on this.

If anyone wants to revive it I can give you the source to the website.

Client update to resolve issues.

Can delete everything and do a full re-sync, or just delete peers.dat and restart.

If you were having trouble try again- I just cleared all the peers.dat files on the seed nodes. It's possible your IP was banned on the seeds. If it was it has been cleared. So try again!

made it to 4 weeks (19000) then no connections, deleted peers file and its moving again, rinse and repeat... hopefully i can get it up to date

I maintain 5 vps nodes which are all up to date. Send me a pm with your IP and I will add it to all mine Smiley

no direct external ip :-( it did sync to block 24438 and quit again though

Are you sure you deleted ALL the local files? Including peers and chainstate and block database files? Delete Everything except wallet.dat and recreate pxlcoin.conf.

If you connect to the nodes I listed you should on the correct chain. Very strange!

Are you on Linux or Windows?

Wallet stuck at block 24438.

Can't get it to sync.

Same problem here, adding your pool node did not help.

Here is how to fix if your wallet is stuck...

1) Kill pxlcoind process
2) Modify your pxlcoin.conf in home directory as follows:
Quote
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
addnode=76.74.178.235
addnode=69.90.132.227
addnode=69.90.132.42
addnode=115.28.161.45
addnode=69.90.132.232
addnode=96.237.61.23
3) Delete EVERYTHING in your pxlcoin directory EXCEPT wallet.dat and pxlcoin.conf
4) Restart pxlcoind.  It will download chain again (shouldnt take long).

Note:
Home directory in unix is ~/.pxlcoin or /home/user/.pxlcoin
Home directory in winsows is %userprofile%/appdata/roaming/pxlcoin

If anyone still has problems let me know.  I have 5 nodes running pxlcoind and none got stuck on the block - don't know why it happened still investigating.

Thanks, I have messaged the pool operators on how to fix.  The chain on pool.pxlconi.com is the correct chain.

It was addressed. But here we go again ...

This isn't a system where if you have 1 PXL in your wallet you automatically own 1 pixel on the site - that is what he is proposing. That is not how it works and no one ever said that is how it would be. It was always clear that you PURCHASE space on the website using PXL.

Another thing is that the website is separate from the coin. If pxlcoin.com charged a dollar per pixel instead, would someone argue that you should be entitled to 1 pixel on the website just for having a dollar in your bank account?

Finally the poster of this ideas argues that people's advertisements have no "liquidity". That is preposterous.  The way advertising works is you pay to have your message (image, video, etc) seen or heard by an audience. When you purchase an ad, the money you spent is gone - you never get it back or earn a % return on it. Instead you earn return on you investment because you will earn more sales as a result of the ad.  Not because the "value" of your ad goes up.  Every advertising model in the world works that way and ours is no different.

Our model is simple - you purchase space on our site using pxlcoin. Once you purchase the advertisement it is there forever. Yes the price of the coin could go up and your ad would have been bigger if you had waited for the price to rise - but if we accreted Bitcoin, couldn't the same thing happen?

I'm not going to address this again but for the last time here is our model:

You can purchase 1 pixel on our website for 1 PXL.

This is not a system where you inherently own something just for having coins in your wallet. And no one ever said that is how it would be. Our coin is unique in the sense that if crypto currency were to plummet and all coins were worth zero, PXL would still have value because the coins could still be used to purchase advertising. So the coin is backed by something where others are not.

which're in the pool? I'm here, but does not confirm.

http://pool.pxlcoin.com/

It might just take a day or two - each mined coin requires 100 confirmations. Network is a little slow so it may take some time. What is your username on the pool? I will look at it.

Checking the last 10-20 pages of the forum for less exposed coins , run into this , not too much talk lately , is this coin abandoned or this thing going on?

Still active - have you checked out the website?  www.pxlcoin.com

Trip, how's that marketing strategy coming up?

Good, we are advertising on CoinURL. I also have a press release almost ready to send to a bunch of blogs and website - and not just crypto related sites. All news and tech sites.

I will post a copy of the press release here when I am done with the final draft.

If anyone has any connections in the press please let me know!

Please advise. What are the best nodes for pxlcoind.conf ?
I am using two right now and it is not synced.

Try adding this to pxlcoin.conf

addnode=76.74.178.235
addnode=69.90.132.227
addnode=69.90.132.42
addnode=115.28.161.45

Early investors you need to reimburse their PXLs and register their wallets. So if they transfer them, they lose control of the AD. If they want to sell their
pixels then anyone can replace their AD since the wallet it deregistered. Yes I know you may not want to reimburse original investors but they were the ones
that deserve it the most. After all, they took the risk and supported the idea.

How did early adopters take any risk? The first 400k coins were instamined in 48 hours. I have a feeling those people who mined all those coins sold them and did well. People who bought in early understood the risk as all coins are extremely volatile and subject to wild price swings. People who holds the coins are doing so in the hope that the site gets wildly popular and some day a PXL will be worth a dollar. Remember when this model was the "million dollar homepage" advertisers paid a dollar per pixel. So there his historical price data to back up the notion that PXL could be worth a dollar. I just fail to see the "risk" anyone took and why they are so important that they need to be hugely rewarded.

Quote
If you dont change your business model someone else will do exactly that. The reason the coins value has no volume and is deflated is because your business
model does not allow for a pixel consumer so make money off an existing ad. Once the coin contains any value the original investor feels like a moron since all
he has is an expensive ad which the owner of the website can dump on the market at any time.

Once you change your model, you will succeed.

How can we "dump" his ad. If you buy an ad it is on the site forever. There is no other internet advertising where you can place an as forever. And I fail to see how an ad is expensive. For a few dollars right now you get a permanent ad. That buys you just a few clicks on AdWords. It's pretty cheap if you ask me ...

Also what you fail to see is that the devs are adding value to the coin by maintaining and marketing the website. By adding ads (content) it generates more traffic and interest. This is how the coin grows. Someone has to do the work and pay for bandwidth/marketing. It just donesnt magically happen itself. So the dev profits but rememebr the economic definition of profit is "the reward for efficient allocation of resources". If we are profiting we are doing what the market wants, which fules growth for all parties: the advertisers, miners, coin investors, devs. Everyone wins. That's the model.

Also for the record I have not sold a single PXL for BTC from coins earned from the site. I do have deals with people involved on the development of the coin and website where they get a small percent of the sales from the site and I have made payments to those people. I do not know what they have done with their coins.

But as I said originally, profits have not been sold yet. I am sitting on a good chunk of coins. Eventually they will have to be sold as the model requires it - when that day comes I will let everyone know our plan to responsiblely sell coins to the market. Like I said we will do it in a way that does not cause a big negative effect on the coin.
