With the changes to the Rinhash Algo, which miners have been updated? Which pools too?

The algo doesn't change/fork until block 170,000 (still about 3 weeks away). TNN will be updated right away when the time comes, I can't speak for the pools though. It's not a massive change from miner code standpoint.
You can still mine just fine with existing software and pools until then.

TNN Miner v0.5.2 was released, and it has some decent gains once again for RinHash. AVX512 has been redone properly too, so the differences there can be big

A new release is here with some important fixes!

TNN Miner v0.5.2
-----------------------------------
+More robust netcode session selection for more consistent behaviour across wizard+CLI param combos,
+Fixed Xelis solo mining direct to node,
+Fully vectorized Blake2b and added AVX512 implementations to Argon2. This results in gains on RinHash, and faster job cache switching in RandomX for new epochs

I run tnn-miner but it exits to the prompt and not starting to mine.
Which cpu requirements are needed ? I did try it on a HP with 2x E5-2697v2 and on a laptop with i5-2450m both running windows 11

Legacy CPUs like those aren't currently supported in the public release binaries. We are in the process of reworking our CI/CD pipeline to either fix this compatibility issue, or have separate files for legacy CPUs.
Be on the lookout for news about it, apologies for the inconvenience.

Honestly it's pretty cool to see people using old hardware on these alts though, not something I saw much of when working on the coins for TNN up to this point.

Great I follow for the updates. Until then I use SRBMiner
v0.5.0 was just released, with the '--password' flag enabled. I successfully tested zergpool mining with your settings, thank you for requesting/notifying  Smiley

Hi,

I downloaded the ttn miner but got a syntax issue

How much I run ttn miner with this info?

ttn-miner-cpu.exe --rin --stratum rinhash.eu.mine.zergpool.com --port 7148 --wallet <mywallet address> --worker-name <my workername>

I need to set a password aswell to set the following option

c=RVN,mc=RIN but I cannot see a parameter for the password.

Any help would be great.

Hi there, thank you for your interest! I have a few things to note about your command line setup
  • "ttn-miner" should be "tnn-miner"
  • "--stratum" is a replacement for "stratum+tcp://" in front of a pool url. So you either need "--daemon-address <pool:port> --stratum" or "--daemon-address stratum+<tcp or ssl>://<pool:port>"

The rest looks pretty good, although you can also use <wallet.workerName> if you want to  Smiley

For the password issue, I suppose TNN doesn't work with zergpool yet (I mine this on rplant). You're correct in noticing no param for password setup, it has not yet been implemented in the miner. I'll probably change this soon though, as I am currently making a lot of changes to the miner.

If you get the chance to, I'd love to see your results with TNN Miner. It tested very well for ADVC on my M4 Mac Mini today (1.9 KH/s at 32 watts), and I wonder if that translates to other ARM systems.

YesPowerADVC has been added to TNN Miner!
https://gitlab.com/Tritonn204/tnn-miner/-/releases

You can now mine AdventureCoin in TNN miner, using the --advc flag. On my 5800X, I get about 1.6 KH/s over sustained periods. The optimal thread setting seems to be
Code:
cores - 1
For example, I mine with 5-7 threads on the mentioned Ryzen. Detailed usage info can be seen in the release notes.

Dev Fee info:
  • Default of 2.5%
  • Minimum of 1%

You can now mine RinCoin with great performance in TNN miner, using the --rin flag. On my 5800X, I get about 400 KH/s over sustained periods.
Detailed usage info can be seen in the release notes.

Dev Fee info:
  • Default of 2.5%
