How can I be sure my coins are secure? I don't want to get a transaction lost or coins dissappear. What do I need to do?

I had another topic with my overheating card.

Basically i got up to 105° and crashed while mining in a closed case with one case fan
And up to 85-90° with case open and a table fan pointing to the card. It crashed again and I wouldn't work anymore. Send it back and got a refund.

Got my money back from my overheated card, what now?

So, if anyone remembers, I bought a used 5870 which overheated at 90° with open case and extra table-fans. Today I got my refund.

Sucky thing is, that I couldn't mine when dificulty was 500k until now. So a lot of money "lost" (or, not earned)

I already bought another 500W PSU (my old 430w bequiet PSU is still in the case and the 500w is still original packed/weld)  and  2 case fans to keep up with the power consume and heat, wouldn't be a bit useless if I wouldn#t use it...

I'm thinking about buying another card because I might wanna play some games on 1/2GB card instead of my 640M one in the future, and maybe for mining. (Which I'd do since if the card can handle it and it's just over the electricity bill, there's no use in not doing it)

Should I check out ebay as people are starting to sell their cards now for a cheap-deal?

Do I get a new one to not get this overheating crap again, get a proper guarantee deal etc?

Or do I invest in Bitcoins and buy myself a card when difficulty got up again and card prices at ebay are going even lower?

Thanks for help.

Yeah, I know. I installed only one 8mm fan to let out the air, but my Card crashed when the case was open, and a table fan (approx 1 foot) was cooling the card. It got 95° hot and died out. So we got a Card that's too hot, even with unusual cooling AND a Case that has bad airflow.

Trying to get another card and getting more fans.

So , maybe I wanna try undervolting next. Afterburner doesn't work with voltage on non-msi products, so I have to go to the BIOS. Any help with that?

On other notes, the GPU crashed with 95°C and wouldnt work anymore, so I installed my old e-geforce GTS 8800, which runs at ~ caution ~

80°C standby and 100° mining 21 mhs. And this thing won't die!

This seems a lot like a bad-airflow area, but I installed a 8mm fan, letting some air out and when my 5870 crashed, the case was opened and a normal sized table-fan was letting the air either against or away from the card (tested both, no real differences).

How do I add more fans with only 2 basic fan-pins on the motherboard?

Boy, when I'm finished twerking that card, difficulty is 2 steps up...

GPU Fan is running, Heatsink seems to be adjusted properly. I actually have to underclock this card to use it for mining.

I'm trying to bring them back into the store and get a replacement if the sink's alright. Thanks

I opened the case earlier and pointed the fan to it, I could get about 89° on 370mh/s if I remember right. Now with closed case and the fan in the rear to let the air flow out the box I get my 99+ again..

avtually running 200mh/s at memory 180 and clock 459, at 88°C. Case closed (what a pun.)

@Ognasty: how do you get 8 of them into your pc? show me a pic? where do you get the electricity from?

I guess I'm letting the pc run even lower at night and buying a second fan tomorrow morning.

Btw, I'm from germany, I won't buy anything at newegg because it's... well, shipping costs?

Btw got a Papst Fan for 12€.

I got a fan doing 1500 RPM. I installed it in the mid-rear and it does like, nothing. CPU and stuff seems 2° colder but thats all.

If I'm running guiminer I get 110°C and the system crashes.

Looks like a broken card...

This HDD can't be 108°C because it feels to cold.

But my GPA is hot in stand-by. 60°C and I can feel the heat on the card.

Yes it was used, but it was very clean. Didn't notice any dust  (didnt look that much, but you know..). May it be returned because it was too hot? I bought it as a retour-ware.

With Mem at 600 and clock at 425, I get 170mh/s with an temperature of 83°C
