New release 18.11.47.39

improved calculation for grid- and blocksize which should end up in a higher hashrate for Ethash as well as ProgPoW.

Let me know if you run into issues.
Happy mining

Is your miner faster than Phoenix miner in ETH mining?

zooko is paid shill by bitmain so he rigged that community

zcash is scam (zooko with masterkey he killed with his tools  Tongue), soon 10$ dump while you still can
Fluffypony just tweeted a few days or maybe a week how much zooko makes $340,000 a month its crazy than the company is bring in somewhere just under a mill off us miners and this piece of shit wont listen to us gpu miners we are now below him he lied about making this a gpu only coin I dumped my zcash and hope it burns to the floor

Yeah, I saw that. The founder's reward is being paid out for the first 4 years. That period is almost up now...

ZEC was released at the end of 2016. So its only been a little over a year and a half where the founders reward was being paid.

Hence there is still lots of ZEC coins which will keep going to the founders for the next 2 and a half years.

But yes... its unfortunate since this was probably the #2 most mined coin aside from Ethereum. When they build more ASICs the difficulty will keep going higher and higher and will increase the difficult of other coins like ETH and XMR.

As a GPU miner, I do not mine ZEC any more. I mine the ETH and XMR.

6990 XMR Config  Huh driver  Huh

AN AMD 6990 IS HARD TO FIND--

I certainly do not own one.  I did post a good start configuration, and would suggest the latest drivers that support the venerable 6990.  With 1536 shaders X 2 (it is a dual 6970 card), it should still mine like a beast.  Good Luck!       --scryptr

It could be fast. But the power consumption could be high.

The new RX 580 Series will have a 6+8 Pin power connector.

This is going to be a problem to connect to most PSU's.

Thats 6x6 pin + 6x8 pin connectors.

Which PSU has those? My favourite HX1200W and Evga G2 1300W cant connect that many cards...

EDIT: Evga G2 1300W can in fact connect those.

Anyway, be carefull if ur buying PSU's for the RX 580 rigs  Cheesy

You can use some adaptors.

A good measure of the utility of a payment system is the amount of fees people are willing to pay to use it. Currently, people are paying $250,000 per day. I wonder how that compares to other payment systems.

May not be strictly true. If the block size increases, the utility of the Bitcoin system will increase. But I suspect the overall transaction fees people pay to miners will come down.

The fee will go down if the block size is increased. But that will attract more users.

I discovered bitcoin too late and the main reason was that i didn`t found someone like you before 3 years or even back in 2011.
I have missed so much opportunities with bitcoin and i regret about that.
You should continue promoting bitcoin to newbies. If you convince even 1 person about bitcoin, this is huge.

Even if you buy now, you will be rewarded later.

Why makes you feel optimism about LTC? I think SegWit won't give something for LTC. Because I don't see anything was being special caused by SegWit soon.

i don't think segwit will do much for ltc. i don't really see where the need is for it. it will be good for all crypto to see a working implementation. perhaps a fully upgraded ltc with all the bells and whistles might actually inspire more people to take a look at it.

realistically as an actual proposition for commerce it's far better than btc, quicker, lower fees, no shadiness, but if there's no demand then it isn't.

The litecoin may test the segwit for the bitcoin.

Re: Zcash under botnet!?
by
Umister
on 07/11/2016, 19:28:42 UTC
anybody hear and read..WTF..now price can hit real fast 100$ or even les..OMFG...not good for all who mine it...

It will take some time to have really powerful botnet mining Zcash. If ever.
And with the current decline of the price and growth of difficulty it may not even worth it. Coins like XMR are more stable and people say that the botnets already mine it for a long time. And then why change?

It makes more sense to think that with the hype around Zcash everybody started to mine it and also it was hugely over-valuated at launch.

The Monero is a know botnet coin for long time. It is more efficient to mine it with the CPU than the GPU.

Re: Do you still have time to reach the 21 BTC goal?
by
Umister
on 15/10/2016, 08:04:25 UTC
You can reach 21 Bitcoins easily if you have enough funds to buy it. But obviously that is not the point. For earning it it would be very hard and takes a long time and some luck too. My position at the moment is very low so there is no chance to get to this amount but stil I have some humble goals that I hope I will reach by the end of this year. The most important thing is never to give up, no matter what your goal is.
If you really big trader and you can easily earn and get 21 bitcoin and if the cheap you bought from the exchange website is rise up that expensive then you are going to earn lots of bitcoin there and if you are luck in the gambling too because gambling can really give you 100% of income.

The 21 bitcoin is worth about $13,000 at the moment. It is not a big amount of money for most western investors.

Re: [2016-09-27] Global Blockchain Summit 2016: Banks are optimistic
by

on 27/09/2016, 16:20:51 UTC
"Throughout the 2nd Global Blockchain Summit, which followed the Ethereum Foundation’s ÐΞVCON2, a series of presentations were held by the blockchain industry and financial sector’s leading experts and entrepreneurs, including ConsenSys’ Joseph Lubin, Circle’s Jeremy Allaire, Wanxiang's Feng Xiao and Hyperledger’s Brian Behlendorf.

On the first day of the event, the hosting company of the 2nd Blockchain Summit Wanxiang revealed a 200 billion RMB investment in an innovative smart city, which will demonstrate various use cases of emerging technologies like self-driving vehicles, the blockchain technology and AI.

Specifically, Wanxiang’s Feng Xiao shared the prospects of the blockchain technology utilisation for recording the usage of car components, such as batteries, and property rights.

Wanxiang’s general blockchain investment strategy was followed by a series of presentations targeting regulatory issues surrounding the blockchain technology and its unique applications across many industries.

Joseph Lubin, the founder of the blockchain software company ConsenSys focused on the applicability of the Ethereum network in data storage and maintenance. Lubin extensively discussed the blockchain technology’s potential in solving serious problems with personal identity issues by describing the technology’s capability to embed sensitive data into an unalterable and decentralised ledger.

IBM, which recently announced their venture on business blockchain networks, made a presentation together with Hyperledger and the China's National Internet Finance Association on regulatory frameworks imposed on the blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

Lihui Li of the China’s National Internet Finance Association emphasised the importance of decentralising blockchain networks for mainstream usage in the conventional financial industry considering the strict financial regulations in China and other Asian countries.

On the second day of the summit, Jeff Garzik and leading financial establishments such as UBS, CME Group and Russia’s Sberbank discussed the potential of integrating blockchain networks into core banking systems and financial platforms.

The former Bitcoin Core developer Jeff Garzik focused his discussion on the significance of open source networks in the development of blockchain systems and applications. Garzik and the Bloq team strongly believe that an open source community is crucial even for creation of private blockchain networks."

This goal is pretty high to have 21 bitcoin. I don' t think I will reach that.
The reason for that is because I don't think I put enough money into bitcoin to be able to reach that and freelance jobs don't pay that good just a few. So probably I will hover around 15 before it reaches 1k cause I'm almost there already. But there's no super rush can still earn them when they are a little bit more expensive aswell.
most probably im not going to reach that either unfortunately, the price of the bitcoin is really high right now and it is hard to earn it now

Yes, it's hard to reach but I don't agree if someone say it's impossible to reach. Altcoinn trading is a very good way to increase btc. if luck goes with you,  you can earn huge btc in short time.so, it's possible, just do it.

I think it is not so hard to reach the 21 bitcoin goal at the moment, as the price of bitcoin is still quite low.

It was my wish to get a lot of bitcoins from online world, but due to some issues I was stuck for a month and because of that my earning procedures reduced much lower, I hope I will sooner start working for earning bitcoins and I hope that one day I will collect a good amount of bitcoins.

Earning bitcoin is a long term process. As long as the bitcoin price does not skyrocket, you can earn a lot in the near future.

There are lots of time to reach 21 BTC.  Bitcoin wont be gone tomorrow and it is here to stay for eternity as long as community have faith in it.  So having the luxury of having BTC for a long time, I can say there are lots of time to reach that 21 BTC goal.  Just work hard and focus on getting it and i believe everyone can as long as they do not stop.

Achieving 21 btc is difficult but not impossible, if we work hard and give our best efforts then one day we will be surely holding that amount in our wallet, constant efforts will help you in achieving that goal.

That is right. I have some bitcoins already, so it will not take many more years to get to the 21 bitcoin target for me.
