Re: Cal Alarm
by

Does anyone know what the "Cal alarm" indicator means?  It seems to trip if I set the Mhz ("PLL") too high.

It means that currently is not reached max calculation performance (avg in 60 seconds), nothing more, when gadget show above ~8500 it will turn off.

I'm still confused.  What is "max calculation performance"?  Should I be concerned if it's in red yet well below 8500?
It's probably just the current hashrate of the miner. Depending on your batch this could be normal, the original E9s were made to hash at only ~6.5TH. If you have a 9TH model then this means there's something wrong with the miner chips or blade.

Thanks.  It's a 6.5 hashing at 5.7Ths.   One more question, do you what "Network Flag(change auto restart)" Bank1 vs Bank 2 means?

If it screams and the case is built to have a second board in the middle, you got lied to. It's definitely not an S7-LN. The LN has channels for only two boards and the whole inside is filled with heatsinks, no big gap in the middle. The LN also stocks at 600MHz for 2.7TH

Thanks for the insight.  Lesson learned!

I just got the EBit E9 +9T or whatever the 9 Ths one.  Trying to set it up but no matter what I do I can't find an IP address that will open the control page in my browser.  Also the red light starts blinking continuously after 2-3 min of operation.  I already overpaid for it on Ebay so If anyone can help me out i'd love you forever.  One last thing, I can't seem to find any reset buttons like the antminers have.  The frame does have 2 wholes next to the Ethernet port right where they would normally be but there are no buttons in the wholes when I use a pick to try and push them.  Hopefully someone out here can help me out at least partially.  Hope everyone is well!  Happy Mining!

The only way I was able to configure one of these was to setup a separate network with a spare router.  Both your PC and the unit need to be hardwired to the router to be able to access it.  From there, you can configure it and once done, it can be moved to your production network and work as expected.   These machines are a pain in the a** to configure.  Once  you get through that process, they mine quite well.

I was able to overcome this issue and am NOW able connected to the admin console wirelessly!  See thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2246495.0.

Re: Connect to eBit-E9 Wirelessly
by

For some reason, the only way I can connect to configure my eBit miners is if I setup a separate network on a spare router and hardwire the miner and PC to the same network.   Once configured, they hash happily on my normal internet connected network.   If I need to reconfigure them, I need to reconnect them to my solo network.    I am I missing something or is this normal for the eBit miners?  Has anyone been able to wirelessly access the configuration on these machines?

As far as I know they don't accept wifi connections.

Did you setup the machine for DHCP, or are you using a static IP?

It is using DHCP.  Again, when I hardwire the E9 and my Laptop into the same solo Network, I can access the admin console.  Once  I configure it I plug it into an IOGEAR Universal Ethernet to Wi-Fi N Adapter which is wirelessly connected to my 192.168.1.x network but cannot connect to the admin console.

UPDATE!!!!!
IT'S WORKING!   Perhaps I was being too impatient.  It seems that after 24 hours, I can see the eBit's on my 192.168.1.x network and can wirelessly get to the admin console.  Giddy-up!

Getting this working wasn't a show stopper since I had a hard-wire work around.  It's nice to have the convenience of not having to create an adhoc hard-wired network to get to the admin console when I need to!

Does it have room for 3 boards, or is it perhaps an S7-LN?

It looks like a 3rd board is missing in the middle.  It was suppose to be an LN but it screams (loud!) like a standard S7.

3TH sounds like only two boards are running.

Which is about enough to max out an 800W PSU.

Got any more info?

To my surprise, it only has two boards!  It's labeled as an S7, but I guess I bought a 3TH miner.  Ugh

Antminer S7 - Only hashing at 3Th/s - Help!
by

I bought a used S7 that I can only get hashing no more than 3TH/s.  Quite frustrating.  I tried overclocking to 750mhz, but it dies after about an hour overclocked.  All the chips display fine, no X's.   It came with an HP PSU running at 800W.  Any thoughts appreciated.

What else do you want to hear about it man? He already explained what it is about... If you want further detailed information, do your own digging. There's an invention called Google you know? And you don't even need that... Try and look in the forum and you'll find lots and lots of information on it.

Lighten up dude.  You were a newbie not too long ago also.   Let's keep this forum civil as it was intended and help each other out.

What is Bitmain? I haven't heard of it before and would like to know your experience with it.

Bitmain is the largest producer, supplier of mining equipment popular as antminer and are the largest miners with plenty of farms around china.

I just heard it, Can you give more information ?

I've had good luck ordering from Bitmain.  Always received a quality product with decent shipping costs.
