Right, when I check these, and I have checked probably 5, they are ghost towns. Thus far, I won't go into say an Ethereum community and scalp talent as that would certainly annoy me if we switched places.

Do you have any site recommendations?

Where Can You Find Devs and Dev Teams For Hire/Collaboration?

I'm looking for the opposite of this Project Dev group...

That is, a group where the Devs/teams put their toes up first and announce the kinds of projects they want to work on and what their working requirements are.

Are there any devs or dev teams who are interested in working on a decentralized altcoin project?
Perhaps there is a website/board of freelance Devs that put up their contact info??
LinkedIn is not exactly what I'm looking for.

I spent probably 2 minutes to read this thoroughly and figire out what was going on.
Your intro was really not considerate of your potential workers' time.
Still, hope your task went well though.

If trading is your full-time gig, and if it is- this has probably occurred to you I'm sure, but I suggest you should begin providing some kind of service in exchange for crypto.
Use your skills!

Let's forhet about the "bad" and "lazy druggie" homeless type and focus on the most sincere group.

Giving money to one homeless person is the financial equivalent of that same homeless person going out and buying cigarettes instead of saving the money or getting food and improving their life.

Paying a few bucks makes you all warm and fuzzy and sad.
However, this money will probably never change that person's life, or change the system.
If you really wanted to resolve this issue, there are much more systemic approaches.
Take the same money, invest it into crypto. (yeah, risky, but so is being homeless)
Then invest the winnings into an charity or other infrastructure that can provide a sustainable support system.
It doesn't "feel" as good as seeing the smile on their face, just like a salad doesn't feel as good as a cigarette when you're down on your luck.

If you're granted a whole 24-hour day to yourself with absolutely zero responsibilities (work, family, relationships, etc. will disappear for 24 hours), what would you do?

This seems really easy to do. Even if you have a very full load. Book a holiday off work, take money you would do for vacation, pay off a assistant/nanny, switch off the phone, and apologize later if there was a crisis.

Honestly I wish this wasn’t driven mostly by get rich traders.  They give two shits about how the system should be working. Honestly price should continue to head down as the whole idea of bitcoins worth is at jeopardy(decentralization).  It should be nearing 0$ per bitcoin.  Bitmain owns entirely too much of this space.  The only way to remedy this situation is for all devs to stand together for the betterment of mankind.  Not their own personal wealth.  EVERYONE!  If we just all walk away and ignore them what power do they have?  ZERO!    If we all succeed we all do better.  When the money lies in only the hands of a few well it don’t take a long look at history to see how that plays out.  Def a turning point for me whether this whole thing is a bust or will make it.

How do we walk away from their mining power??

Even if everybody stopped buying their stuff, they still make the best stuff..... So this seems like a catalyst for what they already have in motion.

Bitcoin will eventually die. Every form of currency every existed has/will off. Democracy didn't completely remove consolidation of power. It did improve the situation.

Bitcoin has to be taken not as a panacea but as a guideline with which new ideas can be developed.

This is not written in disagreement with you, it's intended to be a cheerful but firm reminder. Read the myth of Sisyphus. Remember, life is gritty, and the same problems are going to come back again and again. We can't control the repetition, but we can control our attitudes. We can move fwd with a sense of internal competition. Take things one step further. Do things a little better than we could do them last time.

^^^ The planets you have in mind are CGI animations and photorealistic paintings. The planets and stars you can observe yourself are small projected lights about 3,000 miles above you. The Sun and Moon are also close and small projections.

The Earth is flat, stationary and, covered by a dome.

Here's an example:

Globe Earth without water:

Globe Mars without water:

''CGI animations and photorealistic paintings.'' Because god wanted to fuck with us? Like what kind of logic are you even using lmao.

Re: Mining in South American and Central Asian countries

Here in Brazil there are some people who pay a fixed rate of energy, especially for those who live in more isolated places but because the available power is not so high, it is not possible to create a large mining farm. As the energy tariff here has been very expensive in recent years for those who produce photovoltaic energy prefers to sell to the utility than to mine. The choice of many people is to really mine in Paraguay where the tariff is very low, but there are reports here that there is already a government crackdown on the country's miners.

A 'crackdown' in paraguay?? Isn't it legal? I assume such since the government is helping coordinate the building of the biggest mining operation ever according to that article above.

I cant speak for anyone else but there are some serious challenges when trying to build something like this in a country you are not from. You dont understand laws, customs, or anything of that nature where you are going. You dont speak the language so a proper labor force and contact with contractors can be a pain. Trusting your multi million dollar facility in the hands of locals is a scary proposition, and living down there or spending massive amounts of time down to secure the facility would be pretty terrible considering the distances involved. There are obviously a number of other socioeconomic issues to deal with as well.

For example id shy away from ANY and ALL soviet bloc countries such as Uzbekistan based on the current political climate and the issues we have in the US with Russia right now. I would also stay away from South America as a general rule because of the massive amounts of corruption, struggle, and strife South America seems to constantly have. The US border crisis is in no small part due to the mass exodus of people in South America trying to come up this way through Mexico.

The average tech blogger isn't going to setup shop down there for sure because electricity is cheap... However... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiquita_Brands_International
Chiquita Banana is a Swiss company. I'm confident starting big businesses in developing countries happens.

Granted, they have been forced to fund cartels before, they still manage to pull quite a profit since all that has blown over. The point is entrepreneurs are ready to take risks. Making fortunes is not easy however you cut it. I'm not suggesting some Montreal trader drop everything, move to S.A. and learn spanish... There are very, very, truly rich South Americans and Uzbekistanis (probably some that speak English), or there must be other non-local people with some experience there and some in crypto.

I'm hoping to draw some of the locals out of the woodwork and get their two cents.

I have noticed there is very little discussion on (and in fact relatively few) mines operating in many regions where the discussion should be wide-open.

Paraguay is building the largest mine ever.
https://www.coindesk.com/bitfury-partners-to-launch-bitcoin-mining-centers-in-paraguay

Uzbekistan charges no tax on crypto, and among the lowest energy costs around.

Here is a list of Bitcoin legality by Country:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory#Asia

Here are some national average electricity prices:
https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Uzbekistan/electricity_prices/

Who is working on a project outside USA, Canada, China, the usual places these English posts seem to focus on?
For those with experience, what kinds of challenges have you faced setting up mines outside your country?

Re: Do you think Institutions secretly HODL Bitcoin?
by

on 18/02/2019, 09:55:21 UTC
have you ever asked if some companies are seriously investing in Cryptos and still not talking about it?
They way crypto platform for Institutional client is been developed by the day is become an eye opener that there is serious interest
by companies but I guess anonymity is prefered

Huobi Launches a trading platform for institution https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/huobi-crypto-exchange-to-launch-institutional-trading-to-a-limited-group/

So do you think companies like NASDAQ is good for the market https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-27/nasdaq-is-said-to-pursue-bitcoin-futures-despite-plunging-prices

SO do you think Bitcoin will be the future all sometimes fade away?

Huobi MENA: www.huobimena.com
telegram: https://t.me/HBMENA

Institutional investments mean money. LOTS of money. The entire market cap of Bitcoin is like 8 billion less than what Bezos' Ex-wife just walked away with.... Institutional investing means blue-collar, or white collars out of the loop are much more likely to get in at the whim of their portfolio manager... Do you think this is bad? (not taking a stance, just starting a dialogue)

Its good if investment institution take a part in cryptocurrency market. More finance company invest in crypto market its means more trust in market.

Additionally: blockchain ICOs are sucking because they are basically like garage start-ups hahaha Grin. It's good for the talented, but it means many teams don't really have what it takes to scale the projects like they should be done. Institutional investment can help change this. The long-run money takes long run planning- and that takes a toll on the check book.

The majority of immigrants just fly in apparently. ...
The majority of immigrants of the type we are discussing come over the southern border and have never had a passport in their life. The are recently some refugees, such as from Syria, who also do not have passports, or even identity cards.

Right. You know, I wonder if making labor-residencies more mainstream would help. America has lost a certain edge by not having a low-cost manufacturing/production sector. In Florida, (and many other places), farms are allowed to hire masses of immigrants at below minimum wage salaries and in exchange host and feed them. However this practice is much more limited than it could be. These farms, as I understand, lack transparency are full of unethical practices. I wonder just how difficult it would be to scale-up this system, regulate it, and provide a safety zone where they could work, get an education, and (they or their children) could fully immigrate after many years.

Could this even work without inadvertently creating a caste system?
What would be a controllable number of non-U.S. citizens? millions? 10s of millions?

It is basically indentured servitude in practice, but actually, as long as they are not abused... It seems like a better idea than leaving good people stranded or letting immigration be such a free-for-all.

The majority of immigrants just fly in apparently. The primary question about the wall is: Which construction company is going to build it?

It's rather serendipitous that a construction and real estate mogul wants to do a construction project after he gets in office.

Anybody know what company or companies are lined up to build this thing?

This is for the prototypes:

https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/national-media-release/cbp-awards-contracts-border-wall-prototypes

Quote
Caddell Construction Co., (DE), LLC, Montgomery, Alabama,
Fisher Sand & Gravel Co., DBA Fisher Industries, Tempe, Arizona,
Texas Sterling Construction Co., Houston, Texas, and
W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company, Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Doesn't mean any of these would build the actual wall.

thanks! I'm not going to invest a huge sum of time for this answer, however I am very curious what the social network of these Execs and Trump look like.

Why are you selling and what is the project called?

The team of founders wants to move on to another business. The blockchain project we've developed is too good to just leave it behind. Thousands of interested users subscribed to our updates, which means we were on to something.

Unfortunately, we cannot publicly disclose the name of the project. But do reach out at telegram @ivanblock12 or email dnevnikmaster.at.gmail.com and we'll provide you with more info.

So if I'm getting the idea right you just have people "interested" but not even a fully developed product? Did you have your ICO yet??
