Re: Will you invest in a MLM scam in early stage?

Anyone who puts money in is supporting the scheme and all of the returns that they get will be dirty money from naive later investors, often people who were referred into the scam.

Y'all need to come down. Even with the recent drops, the price is still in a bullish trend.

Spot on.  The price fall here is the biggest in a long time, but we're right at the top and just a year ago we would barely have thought about even the prices we have now.

Re: RIP Bitcoin, better luck next time

So Satoshi Bitcoin will split to Chinese Bitcoin and Donald Trump Bitcoin.

If only core developers were capable/motivated/competent to find a solution to increase block size so that people can continue using bitcoin without paying ridiculous fees and insane confirmation time.
Anyways, if there is a split then BTC will not survive as BU needs 70% miner support and if there is 70% support, even less than 50% of those miners can do a 51% attack on BTC, so BTC will need to change their POW as they are planning now, at that point BTC will no longer be BTC but just another altcoin, and a technically inferior coin to many other altcoins.

So why wait for everything to fall apart when the only option is to choose an altcoin and start using it.

We can use altcoins, no problem but bitcoin gained trust. Can you use altcoin for many service? No because mostly if anyone accepts crypto coins, first is bitcoin and sometimes there are altcoins. There are big bitcoin mining datacenteres like bitfury, bitmain and etc, this means there is huge amount of money invested in it. Yes, Nowdays we have some issues but it needs some time to be fixed. If altcoin is accepted for what you want, you can use it without any problem.
Using an altcoin will only make the Bitcoin situation worse.  When people say that they switch to an alt when Bitcoin is in trouble, they don't think about how they're just adding to the big price swings and possibly making Bitcoin's situation worse in the long term (people think Bitcoin is too volatile --> less people buy Bitcoin/new users sell --> Bitcoin becomes more volatile).

I am not happy al all. The price should be 1$ or 1000 000$ Then i am happy. A because i could buy more, and b because i could retire and starting to help the poor.
If the price was as low as $1, Bitcoin actually would be dead and you would never be able to use it (or probably even exchange it for fiat).

Re: Is Bitcoin in a bubble right now?
by
Valiance
on 25/03/2017, 20:22:49 UTC
It was clearly a bubble when it hit 1270$ but not now.

Normal bottom price should be around 900-950$ at the moment. If it goes lower than 900$, that would result in a disturbance and can cause serious anomalies in the normal timeline.

But fear not, if it goes lower than 900$, it also means that it is cheaper than it should be

Exactly, and that means it's really impressive how little Bitcoin has dropped.  There was a lot of hype and arguably pumping with the Bitcoin price, but I start to think that it wasn't pumping if really negative prospects of a HF don't send the price below $800 at least.

I am looking to invest 0.10 bitcoin in zooo.cc. Can someone give his opinion on whether it is a safe investment. I don't find any negative reviews about them on google but still i find it hard to believe that they can double my money in 20 days.
No one can legitimately double your money in 20 days, so read up on Ponzi schemes - they might pay you, but if they do it'll be out of the pockets of people who "invest" later, and then when the time is right they'll run off with everyone's money, so it's not a good idea even if they're going to pay.  You don't want to legitimise them.

Re: Suggest me a website for Day Trading
by
Valiance
on 25/03/2017, 19:08:22 UTC
After trying out YoBit,I'd want to start marginal trading. The usual bitcoins to alt and vica versa. The site must be very supportive, less document requirements and supports most of the altcoins.
Also I will be day trading at times or invest in a stable alt for a week/month.My main concern is support, they trading website must support most of the alts and definitely bots.
Poloniex is great for margin trading, but for day trading it's a little bit unusual because most of the trading bots and pumpers go straight to Poloniex, so for day trading sometimes other exchanges like Bittrex would be better.

bitcoin price has gone up based on years of adoption

this price fall is down to the possibility of that slowing or reversing. this fork crap, higher fees and more money to be made elsewhere are all convincing reasons for less people to be keen on the idea. that's the basis for a real fall.
I agree, years of adoption have to be for a genuine purpose.  If Bitcoin is practically not as useful as it was before, the price is going to fall.

ETH actually has more uses than bitcoin. Maybe RSK will change that - but for now ETH is more versatile.

But ETH got fucked with DAO thing, how can anybody forget this fuck up? I don't understand how can anybody trust those incompetent coder wreckings over bitcoin core devs who succeeded bitcoin till now without a single hack event. Same goes for instamine freak DASH.

They are pumping those altcoins to create fake hype over people so they can steal your precious bitcoins. When all this over, you will be left with useless shitcoins in your hand and they'll be having your bitcoins. Don't join their scam.

SAY NO TO SHITCOINS.
DASH is a weird instamine, but I wouldn't call ETH a shitcoin.  It's not going to do better than Bitcoin, because it's not as decentralised or clever as Bitcoin is (plus the strangely high supply), but it's not an absolute copy and it is original.

+54% these last 6 months and +123% for 365 days now.
Because it's still reasonable to look at this from the perspective of current events.  Sure, this is a great way to look at it (like Bitcoin will always go up), but it's still fair enough to suggest the price is tanking because compared to the high price recently, it's pretty low.

This is the problem that this chaos is going to do. I am sure it is not just him who is thinking like this. How are we suppose to prevent this panic selling.
Even the low holders can affect the value of bitcoin once they are sold.
Even those who just have a million of satoshi, if they are many it can create a bitcoin or more.
This should not end like this for you dude. Just keep looking and dont let the news of those BU or whatever comes makes you regret it in time.
It's not just him but to be honest I don't think the amount is significant enough to result in a collapse - Bitcoin is still pretty strong.  I think that since everyone will have some old and some new Bitcoin, whichever one ends up being successful if the hard fork happens will continue to grow, possibly even existentially if the scaling solution is good enough.

I believe weak hand are soon gone and we well see a new era of prosperity and bull run next month. Together we can do this, we can all make profit if we make the price higher first I want to believe
This is based on literally nothing, with the FUD about a hard fork and the pumping of a few major alts right now Bitcoin's been going down - not significantly enough for it to collapse of course and it never will be, but there's no reason to think that it's going to go up significantly in the near future, at least for a couple of months.

Lots of alt-coins have been cheaper and faster over the last 4 years, still are.

An old saying
"It is not about the return on your money, it is about the return of your money."

Bitcoin is more than just speed, I would advise new investors to go and read some of Satoshi's posts.

Besides, I personally am glad more bagholders are leaving Bitcoin, for every one bagholder that exits come 10 new excited, interest, entrepreneurial investors ready to take Bitcoin and business to the next stage. And one less pump and dumper.

Central bankers fight price corrections, Bitcoiners must embrace them. They clean the pipes like a good plumber.
In reality they are not.  The arguments about Bitcoins are related to it not being scalable.  Just because an altcoin with next to no usage compared to Bitcoin is doing okay, doesn't mean it would actually be okay with the same level of usage.

Re: What is your trading strategy?
by
Valiance
on 23/03/2017, 19:37:07 UTC
My simple stragety "Buy low | Sell High (I'm doing this in a trusted coin and most popular coin like "ETH", " DASH", and "XMR")

Also i'm doing Day Trade but it seems need a higher capital to earn high profit, day trade needs you always focus every minute to see what happening in coin. Smiley
Oh come on that's not a strategy it's an aim.  People want to earn some money from trading but if they think it's literally as easy as "buy low, sell high" then they will lose money or at least end up holding for years on end without doing anything.

Re: Avoid LOL ckminer.com Obvious Scam

You didn't give proper attention on my post buddy,
I had not mention that ckminer pool is totally or 100% works over somewhere,
I only mention what I got and how I feel,
You are right even I already know that office not looks real,
but as a investor ckminer is still my favorite,

And that's exactly how people are getting scammed.  You put some money in, you get returned, you tell everyone how great it is and then the scheme closes and the operator runs off with the money, like HashOcean did after over a year.  Thousands of schemes work like this and every time people are naive enough to think it's not just the stream of new users that keeps it going.

Re: Coinbase added a fees now
by

on 23/03/2017, 19:29:21 UTC
One of the main reasons to use Coinbase was that they didn't have fees. Now looks it's just more one online wallet and there isn't special reasons to use it anymore... And there is that issue with gambling sites too. Maybe they had to add fees as they need fast transactions and without charging users they could have losses.
I think that people mainly use it for its purpose as an exchange.  It's quite convenient for people who are not actually much good at trading and just need something obvious to buy and sell when they want into a "wallet".

Big time doubts, too high rate and no explanation what will they do with the money.

actually there is an explanation on the site if you checked it out. and someone even explained it above your comment Smiley
http://i.imgur.com/Cgugb23.jpg

now lets talk about whether it is a Ponzi scheme or if it is going to be the run away plan.

I don't think it will be, it's actually not an unusual rate at all.  For example, bankrolling good Bitcoin casinos can sometimes earn upwards of 30% per year.  The difference is that they're guaranteeing this rate and that's the only thing which anyone should find strange.

Re: Getting started with Bitcoin
by

Software wallet is in most cases the best alternative. Using an online wallet, you do not control your coins in the same way. To buy bitcoins, you could try an exhange operating in EU like Kraken or Safello, or you could try to find someone to buy from using LocalBitcoins.
Software wallets are OK, but if you're looking to hold a really high amount of Bitcoin in the future maybe you should invest in a hardware wallet like TREZOR from the start so that if your computer ever gets infected with Bitcoin related malware you know you're safe.

Considering the tighter China regulations, the possible upcoming fork, and the rejection of the etf, could it be that bitcoin can actually go down to th $700-800 and settle there?

What do you guys think?
No, the bubble was a little while ago out of the ETF hype (which wouldn't have made people invest straight away anyway).  I think that Bitcoin's price is going to be pretty stable around this price unless a hard fork is imminent in which case it might drop to a minimum of what it was before all of these huge price increases started happening (around early December).

Re: Winklevoss ETF update, what does this mean?
by
Valiance
on 12/03/2017, 18:42:57 UTC
Ok. time it got rejected, but I do believe they will submit a new request. So, the ETF could be accepted right in 2018. I'm positive that sooner or later the SEC will accept the Bitcoin ETF
Unless Bitcoin removes all principles and traces of its original purpose, it's not going to happen.  The SEC were very clear on their concerns about fraud and money laundering carried out with Bitcoin, and these are realistically part of the Bitcoin network and they are not things that are just going to magically disappear (rightly so, to be honest).
