hello,
please help me because I don't know what to do anymore and I can't find a solution to my problem,
I had bitcoin sent to a wallet that was offline,
I know I was wrong but I only realized it after the transaction. bitcoin,
however, was successful anyway but I do not see the bitcoins received in my wallet, what can I do?
can i recover the bitcoins or are they lost forever?
do i have to download the whole blockchain?
if i log in with the same private keys elsewhere will i get my bitcoins back?
please help me,
the public key was this:
1L3DwZ2nBjU2Y91Ck1DkDKmBeg3XhWQm9o
thanks.

You should post new thread in corresponding section

I can say only this: sending bitcoin to offline or not synced wallet is pretty normal. You can sync your wallet anytime and the previous transaction shows up. You might schek status of your address for example here:

Re: 21 million bitcoins is the same as 21 trillion bitcoins (for us now)
by

It would be the same.

The rules of Bitcoin is the block rewards halve every about 4 years, thus the inflation halves every about 4 years as well. To end with 21 trillion, and not just 21 million Bitcoin have, the inflation rules would need to be very different from Bitcoin. With the 21 trillion in 9140, you would need some more or less constant inflation for the next 7000 years, but then you would end up with something like fiat, eg not wort hoding because it inflate over time to worthlessness Cheesy

You can get so few Satoshis from the free Bitcoin giveaway sites like Freebitco.in, I doubt it would be worth it setting it up (especially AI for solving captchas) even if you had bot network available... One dedicated server wont work, you would need many differen IPs around the world, thus bot network.

Bitcoin halvings every 210.000 blocks prevents serious enviromental footprint. Every 4 years Bitcoin value can double without needing to spend more electricity on mining - note this is exponentional function meaning over course of long time, Bitcoin value can not double every 4 years - nothing can grow exponentionally forever. After Bitcoin value wont double every 4 years anymore, electricity usage for mining starts to decrease.

You can create unlimited Bitcoin forks, but these wont take much from Bitcoin dominance percentage over all crypto coins. Thats why Bitcoin is such safe bet among crypto coins, even though dozens Bitcoin forks happened in last year.

Re: Is it more profitable to Hold BTC or buying a lower price and selling at higher?
by

In my opinion trading is risky and very time consuming. Not worth it, especially with the small BTC amounts I have. I preffer slowly accumulating my BTC every month with spare money.

There is a lot of active development in Bitcoin and its 2nd layer scalling solutions like Lighting Network. Most speculators dont watch progress in Bitcoin development closely, thats why many speculators can panic so easily

Re: Will SEC never approve Bitcoin ETF?

ETFs are just good for speculators, and Bitcoin has enought speculators already. I would preffer if the lighting network software gets much better routing first, then widespread lighting network adoption - this would make Bitcoin super usefull instead. After this I would not mind ETF with physically backed Bitcoins.

If in doubt how could something potentionally limitless become one day worthless, check Venezuelan Bolivar. Holding only as many fiat as you are comfortable to lose is good financial advice.

Re: Samsung says that smartphones are the safest way to store cryptocurrencies
by

The Smartphones producer commented that private keys should be stored offline to maximize their security, which means that they should not reside on a mobile phone or any device that connects to the internet regularly.

The blog post comments that mobile phone cryptocurrency wallets are the best place to store "spendable" money due to the phone feature called Trusted Execution Environment (TEE).

Good advices. If you put spendable in the subject title as well, it would not be controversial anymore (but at least I can confirm you have skills how to create click-bait titles)

Re: Can the lighting network eliminate most of the cryptocurrencies?
by

on 25/07/2018, 14:19:46 UTC
Altcoins are just distraction, most development is around Bitcoin. Lighting network can eliminate unnecessary onchain transactions. Long way to go for Lighting network, but after most exchanges implement Lighting network to buy and sell Bitcoins, Lighting network moves out of experimental phase.

Re: Don't you think we should use BTC as a medium instead of capital gain ?

For Bitcoin to work as medium of exchange for masses, lighting network applications need to be more developed (more user friendly). In few years it could become reality - THIS is the promise which makes Bitcoin as investment interesting today, but in few years when the Bitcoin userbase reach the size lets say of Facebook, no more interesting price increase become possible anymore.

Reason for using Bitcoin: token with decentralized ledger governed by math (cryptography) is the future in my opinion and because Bitcoin proved it has best development and decentralization for almost a decade it is safest to hold. If you did some research and still believe there is no significant difference between Bitcoin and Ripple, better keep ignoring the cryptocurrencies, because there are hundreds of altcoins for a reason: for professional traders to extract value from newbies with get rich quick mentality who ignoring fundamentals.

This is true, there are thousands of different cryptocurrencies and most are completly useless (if we ignore speculation). So only those cryptocoins that are actually used can survive longterm.

what is a airdrop?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airdrop_(cryptocurrency)
Quote
An airdrop for a cryptocurrency is a procedure of distributing tokens by awarding them to existing holders of a particular blockchain currency, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. It can also be considered a marketing strategy, since its goal is usually to spread the word about a certain product, coin or exchange in the world of cryptocurrencies. Lately this strategy has become increasingly important due to various social networks, most notably Facebook, refusing to allow adds promoting various virtual coins. In the United States, the practice has raised questions about tax liabilities and whether they amount to income or capital gains.

Re: Bitcoin have more risks than benefits?

To safely use Bitcoin, a hardware wallet is good option. Then the risks of losing Bitcoin are minimal. Having trustless sound currency governed by cryptology math is worth it. Forget about the fiat, and you will see only benefits in Bitcoin.
