Re: Can you still consider yourself a smart bettor even when losing?
by
Vaskiy
on 10/04/2025, 22:39:07 UTC
Rather than being smart, it is good to be a disciplined bettor, because when you keep yourself following certain things in gambling, automatically things will work out in your favor. Being smart will be effective, but the same could go out of our hands at times, but with discipline, things can be kept within control, unlike any sort of situation. Once I used to be a disciplined bettor, but the greed made me lose control, and the continued gambling has made me lose confidence in gambling.

Re: What are your weakness in gambling and how do you overcome them

Lack of control is the major issue that makes me keep gambling and lose everything. It is really hard to stand within the limits. If I had played with limitations, today I might have made a good profit out of gambling. Another important thing is spending on casino games. My thought to have the instant outcome makes me go with casino games. In my gambling activity, I was more successful with sports betting than casinos, but I don't spend time there anymore.

Re: Greediness kills opportunity to win!
by

Once this kind of greed used to happen every weekend. I used to set a target winning amount for the week. Mostly it gets achieved by the end days or previous days, but the greed doesn't let me take a break. This way I kept losing funds, and by the weekend, once again, the bonus helped me continue my wager. This lasted for more than a year, and at some point I didn't have funds to wager. By the very first loss itself, I learned the effect of being greedy, but I wasn't able to keep my activities under control. Finally things got in control when there was no fund left to wager.

Re: The Best Gambling Resources from A to Z

Gambling is a learning experience, and it can be done in one's own interest. Different gamblers have different stories and differences of opinion about gambling. One can't just follow a person's view and expect things to be similar to theirs. Different platforms have different game providers, and there'll be variations. To know about them and learn is a tedious task. It is good to learn the basics of gambling and go further with small spending. This is how it is possible to understand gambling in a better way than just reading the strategies put forth by fellow gamblers.

Re: Your income is $100 per month, do you still gamble?
by
Vaskiy
on 08/04/2025, 17:02:31 UTC
In my country, a big population is leading their lives with $100. With that $100, if they think of gambling, surely they're going to get affected badly. People earning $100 or less don't have the time to think about gambling. Every moment they will be thinking of the next day's life. This is the place where governments need to be more responsible to keep things in order, which means there will be laws for minimum wages and all, but they won't be followed in real time. Everyone needs to get an opportunity, but what we see around us is like the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. This isn't with gambling, this can be experienced in every means.

Re: Crazy bet!
by

on 08/04/2025, 16:26:17 UTC
I have a different definition for crazy bet. I consider placing bets on the underdog as crazy, and I've won some bets. I don't remember the names of the tennis players on whom I placed bets. Those are unpopular players, and the tennis tournament isn't a popular one either. I placed $20 on a player whose winning odds were @11, and she lost the first set, and now the odds have gone much higher. I didn't watch the match anymore, and later, while checking the results, my bets had won, and the winning amount was settled.

2 matches on a Tuesday? Smh! Didn't expect Kolkata to come so close since the target was so big and full credit goes to Rinku Singh who almost became superman once again for this team. Glad to see LSG barely win this one.

On the other hand, how the hell did Chennai let Punjab go from 83/5 to 219/6? Am glad that Punjab is winning, but no one would have expected such a great reversal. Arya just proved his worth to this team in an epic manner.
Kolkata Knight Riders should've won the match because they were 162/3 in 13 overs. This means KKR needs another 76 runs in 42 balls, which is an easily reachable run in IPL. From there, bowling turned out to be hard, and they kept losing wickets. At the end, once again, Rinku gave hope, but he couldn't reach the target. It was a really good match to watch.

In the second match, there are a lot of drops and misfields that let the Punjab Kings score 219 runs. At least CSK should've stopped the team within 200 runs. Priyansh Arya played an awesome innings and made his century the second fastest in IPL. CSK has started the chase in a better way than the previous matches. Anyhow, this is going to be a winning match for Punjab Kings.

After a long time, I watched a good match between the two strong teams, RCB and Mumbai Indians. The target looked big, and Mumbai Indians came closer and lost the match by a small margin of just 12 runs. At some point it looked like a match for the Mumbai Indians as Hardik scored 42 runs off 15 balls and helped the team meet the required run rate. Both the team batsmen played really well, and when it comes to IPL, we can't blame the bowlers, and however they try, it used to be hard for them when runs were coming. Mumbai has lost on its home ground, and earlier the highest chase by the Mumbai Indians in Wankhede Stadium was 213, and today they were to make a record and finally ended with 209 runs.

Re: Can you do this experiment?
by
Vaskiy
on 07/04/2025, 16:42:11 UTC
Once I used to have such a mentality, and I never turned greedy or went for the next match, betting on the same day. During those days, often my prediction wins, and after starting to spend on casino games, my mind isn't ready, and I always want my bet to be won. If lost, I'll start chasing it or move towards playing dice or other casino games. As an experiment it is possible, but funds might get emptied easily. If the first bet is won, for tomorrow I'll place a higher betting amount, which is not the right choice. This will make us have more money or end up losing at the earliest.

Re: How To Handle Depression as a result of gambling addiction..?
by

on 07/04/2025, 16:34:57 UTC
Reading the post, it reminds me of my past. Once I had the same thought, but with the grace of God I was able to share it with a brother of mine. That conversation helped me come out of the hard days. One day morning I lost everything, and I'm alone in the room, and my mind is full of ending my life. I didn't come out of the room for a day, and slowly things got settled, and I realized that life is more valuable than anything else. Also, through different people, I understood that life is given by the god, and we don't have the right to end our lives. As suggested, just pour it as a message or have a conversation with anyone with whom one feels comfortable. This is the best way to handle the depression caused by gambling addiction.

Re: when you say, you can't win in gambling..
by
Vaskiy
on 04/04/2025, 17:43:51 UTC
I say it based on my experience. I never say you can't win in gambling, everyone can win in gambling but how far we have at the end decides whether we've won or not. When people doesn't have control, automatically we'll start losing and most importantly it is the emotional control that plays a big role in every gambler's activity.

In simple gambling is kind of using the small fish to catch the big one. When we start with small amount we'll experience good winning and soon we get triggered. This shouldn't happen, we need to have control and learn more about gambling before going further. In most cases experiencing small wins, they go for bigger bets and end up losing. Here, gambler have done the mistake and the platform doesn't have anything to do as the operations were fair.

If Mumbai Indians can cross 130 runs in 10 overs without losing any wickets, then I hope Mumbai Indians will win today's game. 200+ runs is a super score in IPL. Whoever can score this score, his chances of winning are sure. But who can say goal balls, anytime, can do anything. If Mumbai Indians' two setting players can play with patience and concentration, then I hope Mumbai Indians will win today. Best wishes to Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians have lost two early wickets of Jacks and Rickelton. From 17/2 in three overs, Mumbai Indians have made a comeback and maintaining the required runrate. Naman and Suryakumar developed good partnership. At the 9th over Mumbai Indians have lost the wicket of Naman - 46 runs. End of 9 overs Mumbai Indians are 89/3 and both the teams are playing with equal winning possibility. Lets see what happens by the end.

Re: Comparing gambling to trading
by

on 04/04/2025, 16:32:06 UTC
Comparing gambling with trading is not right, and many people have a misunderstanding. This is not on the concepts, but upon the money making. Many used to learn and make themselves good in trading and during the period of flat market movement patience is must to make good earning. At such occasions people make their way into gambling and try to make money. At the beginning they find it easy to earn and the luck won't get carried for long time. This way many people get into gambling and suffer even though they have good knowledge in trading.

Re: In which situation you think you lose more?
by

on 03/04/2025, 09:32:05 UTC
Initially, while starting the session for the day, I have my limits of losing as well as the target winning amount. Most of the time at the start of the day itself, my target winning amount will be reached, and the mind never stops here. Soon after reaching the target winning, I used to quit gambling for the day. Anyhow, I'll lose control and start gambling, not focusing on winning. This is where I'll lose what I've earned earlier in the same day. Now my gambling turns aggressive, and I start to gamble with the focus of recovering the losses. This is completely wrong and ends up losing all the funds.

Damn! Not RCB getting humbled by the Titans in their own backyard in front of their crazy fans. Their score was such a mediocre one and way below par in a stadium which is famous for its short boundaries.

Mr.consistency(Sai) missed out on a well deserved 50 by a run while Buttler regained his lost form brilliantly this season. Gujarat proving yet again why they are a formidable team in this league.
RCB batting line-up somehow managed to score runs even after the worst start, but the bowling line-up isn't that effective. In today's match Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal have maintained the economy around 6 rpo. The batters are building strong partnership, also they're getting confident to stand wicket. As said, once again Gujarat Titans have proved their strength with the young players. One important person of the match is Mohammad Siraj who played for RCB in the previous season have taken three important wickets at the right time which too a big reason for the loss of RCB.

Re: How to play without taking too much risk?
by
Vaskiy
on 02/04/2025, 19:53:33 UTC
Gambling is full of risk. Very few get rewarded for the risk they've taken. The majority of the gamblers end up losing big. From outside, it looks like gambling is an easy way to make money. The reality is completely different. Another thing is, once you've entered, it is quite difficult to make an exit. When you tend to leave gambling, you need to accept many things. As most of the users suggested, if you're not willing to take risks, don't get into gambling. Learning about investments and getting into it seems to be the right choice, because someday we'll be able to make a profit out of the right investment.

Re: confidence is a dangerous thing

Maybe for your understanding or to find out the confidence level, go for a bet with a very small amount. It can be just a dollar. Now you'll understand the reality. When you don't spend, you make the prediction with the perfect analytical mind, and you're free to do it. That doesn't happen when you go spending money. You'll not do the prediction right. Your mind always has the spending in mind, and for the spending only, you'll be choosing the odds and not based on what you've known about the athletes or the team. So, don't just get dragged as your predictions keep winning all the time.

Whenever I see a match lost by LSG, it reminds me of the player K.L. Rahul, who is really good, but the management isn't good enough to stand with the players and make them perform better. Even now I believe the team might be playing with utmost pressure. However, the players were doing really well. In all three matches played, we cannot point to someone who performed and the other who didn't. Everyone was at their best, and yet they weren't able to succeed in all the matches.

Re: is gambling ethical?
by
Vaskiy
on 01/04/2025, 23:21:18 UTC
gambling is often seen as a harmful habit. my question to you is, in a completely free society, should someone be prevented from providing gambling services for the good of society?

from an individual point of view, it is everyone's choice to gamble or not to gamble. the management of your money is entirely up to you in a physical sense. but that doesn't change the fact that some people are going to go bankrupt, their lives are going to be very difficult with the existence of gambling. if it was up to you to allow gambling, knowing that it is inevitable when enough people are involved in gambling, would you consider it ethical?

do you think that things that can harm a person through their choices should be prevented, or is everyone responsible for their own decisions as long as they are not forced to make them?
As banks are not disrupt and have legality to function like any other government agencies in any country, so is gambling and its activities are in a  country, it is your choice that you make individually.
Gambling has being since time memorial as fun and source of income and entertainment which people make their livelihood from, it's also give sound health.
In our various believe we cannot do away with it.
What do the banks do? They collect the money of the people and make money out of it. The important thing is to take our money we're being charged. If that's ethical and has the legality to function with the support of the government, we cannot blame gambling, which is a business similar to the banking industry. As said, it is the individual's responsibility to take it in the right way rather than getting addicted and making life distressful.

Re: Not gambling could also be a financial mistake.
by
Vaskiy
on 01/04/2025, 17:57:32 UTC
I don't find risking money apart from gambling as a financial mistake because the money we spend will be for some purpose. Even if it was spent on a movie, it's like we've enjoyed the movie time. If it was spent on some business, even if it goes as a failure, I don't find it to be a mistake because of the skills and the efforts in it. At the same time, if the amount is being spent on gambling, much dependency is upon the luck. If we aren't lucky we'll lose, and there is no big work involved as the dependence is on luck. When we are termed to be responsible gamblers, we spend with limitations, but human minds always want more. So, we can't be sure that a gambler won't get triggered after a big win.
