For some reason my pool 0 set on stratum+tcp://nya.kano.is:3333 fails and my miner goes to pool 1 stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333.
I tried rebooting and it doesn't help. Is there anything else I can try?

Newbie question. When a block is cracked did others in the pool directly share work to crack that block? Im not sure if block mining is truly distributive, or statistically distributive, as in you only need one machine to find the block, and the more machines the quicker.

The last 2 network blocks were found by Ant, were 12.5 BTC and only 286 Bytes each. Does that mean there were no transactions on them? Is that something that normally happens?

The network hashrate at 10/1/2017 was roughly 8EH. Today it is almost 16EH.
How is that possible? Does it imply that in 3.5 months the number of miners doubled? Did the world manufacture that many mining machines in the months leading into the past 3 months? Mind you that in Oct, 8EH was an all time high, so its not people pointing machines back at BTC. How can you double in 3.5 months?
Is there something flawed in my assumptions? Is EH not a proxy for # of mining machines?

Can I ask a generic btc question here? I trust people here more than other places.
Mainly, I used a dedicated offline computer to generate my wallet and key. So basically paper wallet. I know when I want to spend or cash some, the safest method is to send some to the exchange or wherever and send the balance to a new paper address.
Is there any alternative to this where I can keep my paper wallet send some btc and not be open to my key being exposed to the internet? Is there a safe method?

I am going to try it again... it worked last night.. I am going to leave for a bit, and not click refresh on the page to see if there was a new block. I am going to go get a pizza, and 48 more cans of coke. Then I will sit in a hot bath and hope that I can kill the virus that is making me sick ( Cold) I will get into water hotter than I can stand and raise my body temp so much that the virus dies! Well, its a theory anyways.
While this is goin on, we might get another block because i am not clicking refresh all the time..

#metoo on the no check challenge. Im wondering if I can go a week without checking anything bitcoin related. No checking the price, no checking Kano %, no checking anything. Gonna give it a shot.

Generic mining question. Whenever the network finds another block, do all our Kano pool miners get new work, or do we just keep chugging away on whatever we were working on?
