Pigzbe is a decentralised application that allows people to create their own enclosed, autonomous financial  networks and to exchange money within them.

My kids love 'collecting money' as well as playing on the iPad. The combination of the two, that Pigzbe have created I think will capture the attention of children through the technology, and allow them to teach the benefits of saving.
