Helios Protocol is the first platform of its kind in cryptocurrency that is coded from the ground up, where not only every wallet has its own blockchain, but every smart contract will have its own blockchain too. To better understand the significance of this I’ll explain it like this:  Imagine every transaction is a car and the Ethereum blockchain is a single lane road (Because the Ethereum blockchain is just a single blockchain).  Now think of what a couple thousand cars (transactions) turning onto this single lane road (blockchain) would look like. There is going to be very slow moving traffic or a traffic jam if enough cars turn onto the one lane road at one time.  Now think of those same cars (transactions) driving down a road that has a lane for every car (Every wallet has its own blockchain).  This is what the Helios Protocol platform can do.   There will not be any traffic jams (slow transactions).  This is just one of the cutting edge features that makes up the Helios Protocol.  This platform is also built to be scalable forever.   Basically, it will benefit from the development of newer and better computer hardware such as better and faster processors.  Also, having multiple blockchains, there is no need to set gas prices high to catch the next block being sent on a single blockchain like the Ethereum blockchain.

That is correct.  We have chosen not to do an ICO in the true spirit of decentralization. The team is working very hard by putting countless hours into development, behind the scenes operations, and yes, using our own money. Helios is not in any way going to die or close our doors. We are currently in testnet phase and will continue there until we are certain we have found and fixed all bugs so we can give our great community the great product they deserve.

This year my plan is simple.  Accumulate and hodl. I’m going to invest and accumulate a few stable coins that I couldn’t afford much of in in late 2017/early2018.  I’m currently accumulating some small cap and low supply tokens that have very real potential. Lastly and most importantly to me, I’m involved and excited about a new project that has real potential to bridge the gap between crypto and mainstream, everyday use.

It’s nice seeing this market show signs of life, but in my humble opinion I think it’s a trap and we will continue to just move sideways for a few months.  I do believe that another bullrun will start later in the year, but this is not it.  I’m hoping this anyways because I still need to accumulate more while everything is still on the clearance isle.

Hello Helios community and anyone new to Helios Protocol!  Just a little update!  The developers have been working hard and everything is on schedule for mainnet launch.  The testnet has been going great and bugs are being fixed!  We have all been working hard behind the scenes to make Helios platform the groundbreaking cryptocurrency that it has the potential to be!

Helios Protocol ($HLS) is going to have an amazing year. The platform is self funded and built from the ground up.  Helios is not an ICO, but has been being distributed through airdrops to community members. Helios is a very unique platform in a DAG ecosystem. Every single wallet will have its own blockchain. There will be no more bottlenecking waiting on the next block like Ethereum or Bitcoin. Helios will be PoS once mainnet is launched soon. Any dApp project running on Ethereum now, can smoothly transition over to Helios.  Helios will also be introducing their dApp incubator program.

Nice to see more and more great reviews being completed!  I also like the community voting for potential future reviews!  Keep up the great work! 

Altcoins in general are far from useless.  There are some altcoin projects that are just silly and probably don’t have much of a future. There are, however, many altcoin projects that can potentially have real use cases in everyday life. You have to remember that cryptocurrency is still in its infancy. 25 years ago, the internet didn’t seem like it was going take off very well.  Now its everywhere and used for more purposes than I could ever imagine. As crypto becomes more mainstream, there will be plenty of opportunities for real use cases for many altcoins.

Hardware wallets are top of the line for security.  I personally like the nano-ledger, but any of these hardware wallets is better that a regular paper wallet or the obvious exchange wallets.  However, some coins cannot yet be stored on hardware wallets so desktop wallets are probably the next best option and sometimes the only option. Remember it’s not always just about the wallet, but how secure you help make the wallet with passwords and/or paraphrases. I recommend making very obnoxiously long tedious passwords/paraphrase.  This just helps add an extra layer of security. I usually use at minimum of 30+ jibberish words for a password. ALWAYS write these passwords down and keep them in a safe and secure place.

There has been a lack of successful ICO projects mainly because the market has been on the decline now for over a year and also people have been shying away from ICOs in general. Many ICOs projects simply didn’t have the experience or the funding to move forward with the project and had to call it quits. Some ICOs were just scams and people started to become reluctant to invest money into a token/coin prior to it reaching an exchange. Many ICO projects that did reach an exchange seemed to decline in price so you could usually get the token/coin cheaper after the ico ended. I think there will be some ICOs in the future, but not as many as there were in 2018.

If I were too invest any large amounts of fiat into crypto right now, I would diversify. I would be looking at picking up a few smaller bags of established altcoins like eth and neo.  Also maybe look at a few others like DGTX and Waves.
