Yeah, you have to remember that sellers on ebay have to ask more because of the fees.  It's about 14-15% total between ebay and paypal.  Then you have to offer free overnight shipping there to entice buyers, and then you have to insure it and require sig confirmation to qualify for paypal seller protection (about $400+ in the US).  So when someone sells one at $5000 there, they only get about $3800-3900 when all is said and done.  So at $3500 you are not far off now.

Yeah that is true, I'm just looking for a fair sale on the lower side of supply/demand.  I don't want to gouge anyone or anything like that.  Another big motivation is my wife wants this thing gone!

Serious offers accepted.

Price lowered to $3500.  I'll include the APW3++ for $100.  I'll ship free at cheapest rate available.  Buyer pays for priority or express shipping extra charges if wanted.

I gave it a shot and its just too loud for my house - can't have the kids being woken up because of the machine.  I have selling history on Reddit and eBay - looking for a trusted method of sale for both parties.  I see these being sold for around $5500-$7000 on eBay.  I'll offer this one which was used for only 18 hours for $5000.  No problems with the miner, runs at advertised speeds.

These things are crapping out all over the place in the mining altcoin forum and it's only been a few days, I don't think you're going to get the premiums they are going for on feebay here.

If you don't find a serious buyer, I'll offer $2750 in crytpo using escrow services here and I'll pay the fee. Located in USA.

At this time I don't want to go lower than $4500 based on what they are selling for online.  That is already a discount from eBay prices.

Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order

This is going to be a silly question but I have to ask anyway.

For soundproofing (or at least trying to reduce the sound at all!) I plan on building a wooden box with a shelf in the middle.  I'd put the S9 on the middle shelf with exhaust facing towards the back and have a cutout for the fan to fit into so the heat exhaust goes into a compartment that gets sucked out with a fan into some ducting to dispose of.  On the bottom half of the box I'd put the power supplies.  For air intake I'd put a house filter over a hole that I'd use as air intake.  I'd then place that entire box inside another box that would be completely surrounded by insulation so I can muffle the noise.

If that makes sense here is my question.  Would I have a problem just stetting the miner/power supply on the wood itself or should I get some sort of spacer to set them on between the item and the wood.

Any suggestions or tips before I head to home depot and get the supplies to make this?

So one algorithm at a time.  To understand power usage - I'm looking at the Giant B and the highest power usage is Blake256R14 @ 410W.  So since it would only mine that one algorithm at a time I'd only need just over 410 watts - so a 800W PSU would suffice as Gongolo said?  I was thinking of getting one of the HP server power supplies with a breakout board.

For those who have a Giant B - or probably those with a Giant X10 since I'm guessing they must be similar - What power supply are you using? 1200v enough?  Would I be able to mine on all algos at the same time or is there a limit with what can be mined at any given time?

Does anyone know which power supply would be optimal? I have a spare Bitmain APW3 that I plan to use. What about the voltage?  110v or 220v?

Re: Considering buying 10 S9's or equivalent - Need help deciding to move forward

Well, thats the idea that got me started 1 month ago, in the first place.

Setting up a farm of 10+ miners, ROI in X months, blah blah blah.

And up-to-date, I had accomplished only these few things : purchased pre-order M3 miners, a little bit of BTC in my online wallet, awaiting for my Nano S Ledger and pending account limit increase/verification from Xfers.

Very frustrating, I can tell you that. It has been a roller coaster ride since I left my last fulltime day-job and embark on this BTC adventure. Everything seems so feasible on theory, but its nuts in the real world.

Lastly, the cryptocompare calculator is incorrect on the diff count. Do not use that crap.

Good luck with yours man, I'm also waiting for my limits to be raised!

Considering buying 10 S9's or equivalent - Need help deciding to move forward

Most of the calculators show that if I ran 10 S9's (or the equivalent) I'd be able to make a significant amount of money.
These calculators show I'd be in the green:

This one shows I'd be in the red:

All of the calculations have been using my current electric rate of $0.08/kWh and based off of an Antminer S9 (14TH and 1325W power consumption).

In case you care, here is my plan. After setting up this "farm" and running it for a few months I'd want to save enough money to replenish the machines as needed or to buy upgraded versions (like the rumored S11 or maybe the dragon) and keep this farm going long-term.

Another question - does anyone have access to a good and historically reliable difficulty estimator that I can try to estimate long term gains/losses (I know it would be hard based on the volatility of BTC and difficulty changes but I'd be silly if I didn't try).

Final Question- Does anyone have access to historical data representing daily or monthly returns to date using S9's or other hardware? I can't seem to find a chart online anywhere and it may be useful to determine the rate that which profits decline over time.

Final Final Question - I'm exploring the idea of starting a company/LLC for tax purposes and maybe a lower electricity rate.  Is this a good/bad idea for this small kind of setup?  Would the potential tax advantages be worth it?  I would be running this out of my home in the western United States.

I know this is long so thanks for bearing with me.

@bittawn & @blockhunter : Where do you ship your miners from ? Straight from the factory, in China ?
Baikal will not do that for us. We will be shipping from China and US

When do you expect updates for the batch one buyers?  Are we expected to get the units in January after they get shipped to you and you ship to us?  Or do you estimate it would be pushed into February?  Has Baikal given you a timeline?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if Baikal sold a batch prior to the first batch being sold here? I'm wondering about difficulty changes in the time from ordering one and receiving it.  Thanks
