You're going about the whole thing backwards. You don't decide to make a new coin and then think of things to do. If you're going to start a new coin, address a problem that hasn't been addressed before. Create the coin to solve some kind of problem. Don't just pick some mining algorithm that's been used 100 times and then "brainstorm" ideas.

Start with the problem. The coin is the solution.

This is a very good way to look at it. Do you have any suggestions as to what are some problems that need to be solved?

If you want to make a new coin stay away from other people's used up alogorythm.

The biggest problems in crytpo are:

1. Distribution. Try to find a good way to distribute your coins. 99% of coins have absolutely terrible distribution. There are large barriers to entry and it is lopsided.

2. Blockchain redo from the ground up. Known problems are blockchain bloat, scalability, and transaction speed. You can say your coin is "innovative" but if it isn't addressing those issues, it really isn't.

3. Novel and good way to maintain the blickchsin. Don't just copy Bitcoins PoW or NXT PoS. Your not helping any doing that.

Thank you for your input. We will keep this in mind while we develop the coin.

Re: [FIND] FindYou Coin - Faucet Distribution
by

Interesting.

What started as a free distribution is now nothing more than bickering over which exchange is better from people hoping to make some btc off of coins they got for free.  No promotion or anything constructive being done by anyone.  The main focus is getting on exchanges hoping to turn nothing into something.  Can anyone explain why this coin should be worth anything at all?

Anyway, as you were.

I agree. While I still hold my coins it is becoming more apparent that the dev's intentions for this coin have been lost. I hope this is just a minority group and that the majority holding this coin still see its real value not just a way to gain free profit.

I agree I believe that is to end the POW period before being listed on exchanges, to prevent unnecessary dumps.

I was involved recently in a coin called findyoucoin.
-Dev statement: please, suggest the community to wait end of distribution before trade
-Community: No,let's push for exchangers. We want exchangers. We want exchangers.
-Exchanger arrived.  Result: pump-dump-pump-dump-pump-dump. Price: 5 satoshi.  Wink

I am still holding on to my Findyoucoin's but I do agree with you. An early exchange was not good. The dev's idea was for people to use these coins as bounties to find scam dev's. Instead it has just become an easy way for people to get free coins and sell for a little profit. This further proves that the community plays a major part in whether or not a coin survives.

UPDATE:
-It's not my priority now to get listed..

Well - you need to re-prioritise to be honest, the community isn't your slave - if you want your coin to work, you need to actually put in the effort...

Here is the full update from the dev:

UPDATE:
-New wallet will be release at block 11k (User-friendly interface-block explorer included-Stunning layout)

-Exchangers: Tweet about OMG to exchangers daily. It's not my priority now to get listed. Community could push and promote OMG to exchangers as well.

-More news after PoW end.

You shouldn't just pick out the part of the update that you want to complain about and act like the rest doesn't exist. I would say the dev is putting in the effort since there is a new wallet coming out. The community is not a dev's slave but if the community wants the coin to succeed then they should do their part. If you have mined this coin then you should want to do your part to get it listed on an exchange and see a return for your investment.

Any coin is not the dev's coin, it is the communities coin. Want the coin to succeed, then help.

I am really not trying to be an ass what so ever, but you have 16 activity. Do you have another account? Hard to believe that you've "been into crypto's for a while" with an account like that.

Or also quite possible that you have an account with another coin forum.

This is a fairly new account. Previously I didn't post much. I am looking to get even more involved.

No, I am looking to put a team together. I believe some coins fail because one person tries to do it all. Also, more minds = more ideas. Do you know of a good dev that might be interested?

no most coins fails cus its planned for them to fail ( ore there attacked / fudded to death  )
did something similar to what your trying to do * and trust me u will see / find out things about crypto u would never know without it * most is not fun . good lol )

btw if u start
the number 1 rule is ( devs are expansive ) and they wanna urn money a decent amount of it * or have a chance on a high ass payout *
els they just spend there skills on there own / other projects Wink

the number 2 rule is a addon to the number 1 rule ( sins devs want to urn money for the time they spend ) its hard to keep a dev team together on a legit project ( unless u got big pockets )

hope this will give u a better insight Smiley

u can try to get them to work for a coin ( so they get fame / recognition ) but then well yea Tongue

noting in this world is free
and no one will work for free
its just that every one works for a different kind of payment
fame
money
power
prestige
freedom ( in time of war Smiley )
there all payment methods most want money tough Tongue

Thank you for your thoughts. I will keep this in mind. I do know that people need to be rewarded for their time and effort. The team will decide how this is done.

What algo do you have in mind for you coin project? How many coins total? Will it be a pure mine coin or mine with pos later?

X11 is my first thought since my concept is geared to a specific industry. I have not decided on total coins or POW vs POW/POS. Any ideas?

Not from me. IPO's have been used to many times as a scam. Most scam coins either have an IPO or a huge premine.

New Coin

I would like to put together a team to create a new coin. I have some great ideas that would make for an awesome coin.
I have been involved in the crypto world for a while now and seen coins come and go. I have seen some coins actually live up to their potential and become successful. In my research I have found what I believe works and what does not.
To many coins that have come out lately are just scams. I want to offer a coin that has real value and is around long term.

Some of the issues I have seen are:
Newbie accounts that are just used for a scam coin
Devs that give up on the project and walk away
Not enough people working on the coin
I could go on but you get the idea.

Some things a successful coin needs:
Solid dev team
Solid road map
Usability

If you are interested in creating the next big coin please PM me and let me know what you can help with.
This is not going to be a scam coin or get rich quick coin. I am looking for reputable people to help create a successful coin.

I had high hopes for this coin. Sad Looks like this was either scam or a dev who stopped working on the coin. Either way another coin to add to the shit list. I have not seen a decent alt coin for months now. I believe it is time to get away from coins being launched by newbie accounts and expecting coins to be launched by reputable account. It is time that the crypto community expects more from a dev team and if they can not produce then we do not support their coin. Just my thoughts. I was really hoping this coin would be great. Even the name gave it great potential. I am still holding some coins so maybe the  dev will turn it around.

Eh neither?

I thought the on / off button had potential. If it's really only these 2, the second. The first is just a weird eye.

Weird eye, heh? Hehe, how about a non-eyed version?
