Re: $10million in 2023 possible?
by

BTC isn't going to hit a million in a couple of years time, and Mcaffee isn't going to do anything in 2020. The more people ignore this lunatic, the better off the crypto space will be.

Re: Who's next to go to the Moon?
by
Warbson
on 22/08/2018, 13:14:03 UTC
Everyone is hodling and waiting for the next big coin to move. Waiting for the next "big announcement" that motivated them enough to make a move or invest more.

The lull isn't based on the number of people, it's based on the activity.

Moon coins are going to be few and far between, but they will happen. Its just a matter of which technologies mature fast enough and with enough quality to be adopted by a major bank chain (just an example since I'm a stellar fanboy.)

I don't believe we're aware of what the peak will look like yet. There's a probability a specific coin investment will fail, but crypto is a pretty good investment at the moment.

Re: how much you can profit from altcoins
by

If an alt coin becomes valuable enough, hopefully its value won’t be directly tied to BTC...although that seems to be the case now, I don’t believe that will be in the future.

If your alt coin goes up in value you sell it and even if bitcoin is down you’re still getting the same value in USD regardless. You would just have to sell to fiat immediately if that’s what your goal was, so you don’t lose money if BTC goes down or something...

Re: Can ETH reach BTC value ?
by

In March 2016 it was $14 and in December 2016 it was $7, historically we have huge corrections that can last a long time. Unless you are day trading looking the price week to week may be less stressful then watching us fly up and down 25% every three days.

Now this isn't advice to do anything with your money but I think that this year there was a lot bigger tax burden on everyone as well as exchanges and we will start to see a recovery in the coming months. Hopefully ETH can get some good press when the uptrend starts and we will be headed back to our ath.

Ethereum is not just a cryptocurrency, but it’s infrastructure for contracts, crowdfunding, and other potential applications, providing something that was previously unavailable in the marketplace. Together, these factors give Ethereum the implication that long-term success will be in order. - Genisis-mining

Re: People say altcoins won't survive

Basically, crypto is new and any doubt that it is a big part of our future is a typical part of anything that is new and groundbreaking. To see where this is going requires 2 main things - open mindedness / vision, and a strong knowledge of disruptive technologies that have succeeded in the past (know the history of tech). I can say with confidence that crypto is perhaps one of the most powerful technologies that have ever come our way in terms of how rapidly it is embedding itself in the very fabric of our society. 'Fads' do NOT get regulated by governments around the globe. The race for the first cryptocurrency that will be truly adopted is a crowded space and the growing efforts in this landscape is one of the MANY reasons crypto will thrive.

Re: How safe is Bitcoin? ✅
by
Warbson
on 07/08/2018, 15:40:08 UTC
Bitcoin is as private as you want it to be but if you don't take extra measures like Tor then your IP address can be linked to your transactions.

Bitcoin is as secure as you want it to be and the network has never been hacked but if your bitcoins are stored in a hosted or hot wallet connected to the internet your bitcoins can be stolen.

Bitcoin is and was unique in its creation - however it is how it is being used that will show up the competitive landscape.

Bitcoin is not perfect. With its traditional 7 transactions a second - it cannot be used for fast-moving financial spaces - e.g. where the NY stock exchange has 1.4 bn trades per day.

Re: What is the best exchange ?
by

it depends how much you want to trade and how fast you want it. For a first time buyer I would recommend Coinbase. It has the easiest UI to use and you can get your crypto instantly if you want. Every exchange has some horror stories but Coinbase is the most widely used.

if u notice the actual market crypto, you`ll be able to see the red or green zone replace each other. Now,Btc and Eth or many others are in the red zone but that is not stable. After sometime,it will be green.I said this according to the last couple of days. This situation teaches us to be patience more for profit. So,if anyone want to be profitable, you will need to be wait and patience as well as.

Re: sell bitcoin to buy fiat or altcoin?
by
Warbson
on 02/08/2018, 09:20:33 UTC
The fiat value of bitcoin doesn't really matter when trading alts in the current market. Always comparing vs fiat was one of the mistakes I made when first getting into this. Trade alts to increase your bitcoin holdings, because bitcoin will always, eventually, return to its ATH (if not higher) if you can wait a few weeks, or months at most. So you can use bitcoin's ATH to calculate the medium-term value of your holdings when you need an emotional boost.

Re: The truth about bitcoin
by

Well sure: growth rates like bitcoin has had certainly aren't sustainable forever, but where is the uncertainty? Its in government regulation...how much can they and will they try to squeeze this crypto-currency and make it "open" (i.e. traceable).
