I don't think that cryptocurrencies will ever replace gold, for a number of reasons. For one, cryptos are strictly forms of currency, whereas gold has many other time-tested applications, from jewelry to dentistry to electronics.

Re: $100 of bitcoin in 2010 is worth $75 million today
Yes right, bitcoin is a fenemenal investment, we can get profit up to thousands of percent, I think it's time to invest because the future price will continue to rise.
Indeed, a very good investment. If you invested your money when it was the first time it launched and believed already in bitcoin, then there is no doubt that you are a big time millionaire now. And yes, those people might be the developers and those man behind bitcoin who just really believed in bitcoin. I must say that whoever invested bitcoin in previous year is really lucky today, and those who will invest in bitcoin now will be considered lucky in next 5 years.
I tottaly agree but who want to invest in Bitcoin he must choose the right time

There's no question that it's been a good investment, particularly if you bought at the right time.

Re: Will Bitcoin Die Because of China?

I personally think that China ban is just a small obstacle in bitcoin's way to the top. Like any other scuccessful industries or currencys, bitcoin will have people trying to break it down but i don't think that they will suceed. Bitcoin is now the new era of cryptocuurency in the world and it will continue growing after healing from this ban.
Bitcoin mining is really exciting to me. But what exactly is it doing? What are the hashes it's ... cracking? Where do they come from? I don't exactly understand that aspect of it. It seems like you're using your resources to obtain another valuable resource just as gold mining, but that's easier to understand

Re: Can Bitcoin Prices Reach $5,000 Again Without China?
Why not? China banned the bitcoin, But maybe another country will take the place of China. Maybe it will Japan, USA or Uk. So we will see in the future who will it. But I am sure that btc will reach 5000$ without china but it will need time.
I tottaly agree it will need time and i hope that it reach 5000$ before the and of 2k17

Can Bitcoin Prices Reach $5,000 Again Without China?
Why do have doubts? China doesnt control bitcoins price. It might give an effect to its price but it doesnt mean that it has the power to block or stop on the price of bitcoin to go up. Even without them we would hit up again that ATH for sure but this thing is still unknown on when it would happen but for now we should just ride on the price as the guy said above too. Just play with the market and dont mind on those price increase
The price of bitcoin fell dramatically upon the news. Just over a week after bitcoin hit a fresh all-time high of nearly $5,000, the two bits of news from China have prompted a two-stage wave of price declines. The first was part of a larger, industry-wide plunge that saw many cryptocurrencies falling by 20% or more in the span of just a day. Many currencies regained substantial portions of those losses by this past weekend, only to find that the bitcoin ban caused prices to drop early in the new week.
