Depending on how it all shakes out I might be interested but I refuse to pre-order anything again. There is no need to gauge interest around here, develop a product that can generate a 'fair' ROI without breaking the bank (or for that matter electricity costs) and you will be swimming in orders before you can upgrade your infrastructure.

I think a "major semiconductor company" has better research methods than unscientific polls via an internet forum. just sayin...
And in any case there is more than enough evidence all over bitcointalk of the popularity and interest in asics. But if i see one more "we're building new asics, better than everyone else...are you interested?" I'm going to have to punch my screen
Truth here - All this semiconductor company would need to do is use google to know they would have instant buisiness - This whole thing smells of scam - Although I will say if a company could make a PCB and use Avalon chips by ordering 200,000 of them and assemble thier own units they could make a ton of money selling them. - If only I had the knowledge and resources to do that

If BFL ever gets their production going smoothly then you will never see ROI (IMO, based on what I have read) - and the fact that ASICMINER will start producing units as well....but hey dont do it for the profit.
Simple: People fear what they do not understand - Its just like here at work I try and tell people about bitcoins and they always compare it to monopoly money or something like that.....they do not understand how it works and at its most simple explanation sounds weird to most (older 
)people.

I have been looking and known about bitcoins since way back in 2010 but like an idoit didnt buy any, which I constantly beat myself up for, but I am trying to keep my eye out now and hopefully get into mining or even just investing in them at some point - glad to be part of this forum now.

I have been watching since the boom from $47 and up, and since the big crash it seems to go from around $70 down to $50 and then back up again....but we shall see - I really hope it finds a stable point as it is way better for everyone - but it is a very easily manipulated market by those that have tons of bitcoin
