Oops, I made an assumption... Looks like they changed equipment to a cheaper cRIO in the past few years, out team had a jumbo 7 slot one that was crazy expensive. Still not worth it, I would believe.

Holy crap, probably not a good idea. FIRST Robotics, yes? Cheesy cRIO's are incredibly expensive, not sure if you have ever looked up the retail price of them, but they are will over a few thousand bucks. It would not be worth it to put it under the load, just to make a few coins. And doing so would probably require replacing the firmware, meaning you can't use your bots with it. :\

The thing that really stands out for me from that screenshot is your >12% reject ratio  Shocked
I'm guessing connection problems...
Hmm, connection does seem like something to look into. Ill try playing with the router and switch. The accepted/ rejected resets every time the GPU goes down, so I never see more than ~200 shares accepted total, lol. Thanks for the tip.

Hey all, I did a little bit of searching trying to find a similar problem, but I could not find any. What is happening is that GPUs are shutting down probably around every 30 min.
It is happening to all 3 of mine (Sapphire 5850 ref, XFX 5830, Sapphire 5830).
I have a Cooler Master 1200 Watt PSU, so I'm pretty darn sure thats not the problem.
Mobo is a Gigabyte UD3, Processor an FX-8120 8-core.

Here is a screenshot of GPU #1 chillin' out, but they all do it. Also, check the graphs and you can see the crazy peaks that are formed.

Its just annoying, its bringing down my shares and average Mh/s. If anyone can give me some recommendations, I would really appreciate it! Thanks guys.

ALSO: I tried both Pheonix cores, they do the same. In addition, its does this on the default clocks, too.

UPDATE: I am trying bitcoin.cz pool, but is is still having the same issue. Bypassing my network switch to see if that does anything...

in cgminer in the conf make sure you are using the phatk kernel not the poclbm. worksize should be 128 or 256 vectors 1.
Great, thanks. It looks like I need to try some different settings like that, I appear to be mining slower than most people report.

I used to run 2 Sapphire 5830s at 950/300 for stability under Windows. I found a tool called aoclbf and I used it for over/underclocking and it also has a way to configure miners. I had more luck with GUIMiner and phoenix and got around 310 mh/s from each card. Temps stayed in the 70s and each card needed around 140 W from the wall if I remember correctly.

Cool, that sounds great. I have clocked down the memory, saved a TON of heat, fans stay really low. However, my 5830s average around 280-290 mh/s in cgminer, I might try GUIMiner with phoenix and different mining programs to see if I can get any higher. Thanks for the info!

OP, I am running three Sapphire Xtreme 5830s on one machine at 1010/300 getting 327MH/s each.

However my XFX 5830 (on other machine) crashes every few days no matter what core/mem is set to. Haven't figured it out yet. Might just sell it, and get more Sapphires. They don't seem to crash on me.

Yeah! My XFX always has a ton of hardware errors when I check it, and it can't clock as high either! It was my first card I got, I picked it up mostly for the lifetime warranty, but I will probably never get any more. I can't even take the sink off without voiding the darn thing.
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot.

I have 2 5830's running at 950/300. They are running 300 Mh/s. What do you mean the mem clocks are bugging you?

Thanks, it was just that I could never find a good setting that would not drag down the hash speed. I will give 300mhz for the memory and see how they go.

Hey guys, I could really use some input. I have been struggling trying to find a decent clock (GPU/ Memory) that would max my performance, but trim a bit of heat. Mostly memory clocks are bugging me. I am running cgminer (currently in Windows, boo.). What clocks do you guys use?

Looks great! I might eventually need some tools for a website to take payments. One change I would like on the site just from looking at it is to remove the feedback link at the left side, I can't stand those!

Hey, im WebWolf, I sort of jumped right into bitcoin, currently I have a 0.9GH/s rig. The forum looks like a great place to do some research and find out how to expand even more!
So far I am loving bitcoin, its a pretty cool way to make some money, and an even better way to use it!
