So I came across something interesting just then when I was checking out the would-be new website for PND!!! I saw a menu header titled Test Homepage 2 and came across the following page which Ive screenshotted using a chrome app. Heres what I got before the page got taken down

Notes The video was locked and could not be viewed. All links did not work and just redirected me back to the old website. The page was unavailable couple of minutes later and disappeared from the menu after checking out the links and being directed to the old website. Looks like whoever was working on the homepage made a mistake and accidently made the page that they were working on public before taking it down

The next batch of plans are being released I think... I'm hoping for new features/services... wallet update... android wallet and such..

What do YOU want to see being developed using the Pandacoin PND Community Chest funds?
The Pandacoin PND dev team wanted to gather feedback from our awesome community on concepts and ideas for development utilizing the Community Chest as we are in the process of updating our bounty project list in preparation for the August 30th big date!
We will not address or include bounty development ideas that are not aligned with our team's vision, or proposed developments (from the old bounty list, or outside of that bounty list) that have already been developed, or is already listed as a development that will be taken care of internally by our team in the future.
So let us know how you would like to see the funds gathered from this generous community to be used. Together as a community, we can discuss and access the viability of these ideas and we (dev team) will see if we can make it happen!

Definitely. The chinese side will be our significant half that'll propel us to the moon. Language barrier between their community and ours would be the biggest obstacle right now tho

This is the most legitimate sounding coin I've ever seen. Dogecoin doesn't seem this high quality. Will Pandacoin be bigger than Doge?
It'll be easy to make an informed judgement once we get to August the 30th.
If the set of developments are inline with the vision statement that the PND dev team has made, and on the right track to be one of the cryptos that have a real chance of making waves later, then yes.
Doge has the power of meme to reach towards those ages under 25, but would most likely be contained more as a gateway crypto before they move unto something more polished and refined later.
I really like the statements that the PND devs have made so far, as I heartily agree with the notion of how there is a real need to rethink the current approaches to dcentralized digital currencies so that your average peeps could get into crypto.

I would not invest in any coin at the moment. I don't like risky investments at all. All cryptocoins are risky at the moment and, from 60,000 feet, they do not show enough signs of better or worse right now. It's like social network software in 2005. Would you bet on MySpace, Friendster, or Orkutt? It turned out that Facebook was the winner.
So the million dollar question is - once we see what is released post August 30th, does PND have what it takes to be the Google or Facebook of the decentralized digital currency race to the top? We'll find out soon
Agree with most of what you've said, but regarding the quote from that economist using the social networking analogy, I'm only with you say, three quarters of the way there.
My personal opinion is that the space will not see the Google or Facebooks of digital currencies for many years to come.
Bitcoin has the advantage of being the first market mover, with the largest user base and infrastructure built around it. But it's a prototype and has multiple issues and problems, mainly that it's viewed and used more as a commodity like gold to hoard for its future value. Bitcoin would most likely end up being similar to Berkshire Hathaway Shares later, where you hold onto a bunch and pass it on to the next of kin.
With that pointed out, there is a need for a later generation of digital currency to fill the future void of acting as a currency, and not a form of commodity. And there should be a couple of viable options later competing for the top spots, fighting a fierce market share battle to be the dominant digital currency used globally. Until then, similar to how during the early social network website battles in the decade of 2000's, there should be a preference of their own digital country across different regions and cultures. It would be akin to how Myspace dominated the Western space for a while, but over in the East, there were websites such as Weibo that took a life of it's own over in China. Note that in this example, even with Facebook replacing Myspace, Weibo stood its ground and served a completely different market with a large enough population to sustain itself.
This is where Pandacoin PND has an incredible advantages and could prove to be the crucial factor that correlates with its success. Before the Googles or Facebooks of digital currencies arise, Pandacoin PND could very well be positioned as the cryptocurrency of choice over in China first and completely dominate the market there. There is a niche market that no other coins are being positioned for later. Most people lack the foresight to see this massive inherent advantage, and one that I hope that devs will take capitalize on.
We are well aware of this inherent advantage that you spoke of. The PND dev team shares a similar optic to you in regards to the Weibo vs Myspace/Facebook example that you had outlined.
But I would like to stress that we are not only aiming to be the decentralized digital currency of choice over in the East, but also globally and on the internet. So any future comparisons for PND such as "the Chinese Doge" would be unfair, as we will be developing PND to be much more than just that. If we do end up gaining traction over in the East, in particular China but see a lesser level of reception in other global markets? That's great news, but ultimately it would mean that we have still failed to see our COMPLETE vision come to life.

Will pnd be implementing anon? if they do i may buy some and hold longterm as the devs here look to have been here awhile but too bad that doesnt mean as much, having good devs help, but its mostly what the people want that matters
Slight correction: It's implementing the features and options of what the majority of the future users of cryptocurrencies will expect and want that actually matters.
If you think by just having anon implementation will make PND being one of the core contenders as one of the top viable cryptocurrencies in the future, then I implore you to perhaps step back for a second and try to see the big picture by asking the following questions -
- Which market segments will be using cryptocurrencies in the future?
- What will their behaviors and expectations be like?
- How will they want to be using and interacting with cryptocurrencies?
The set of above questions have been considered by the team thoroughly and it is reflected in our internal marketing and development roadmap. You want a cryptocurrency for the masses? You have to first design the cryptocurrency so that the masses will use it. We are close to being able to come public with a set release date on when we will showcase AND release to the community and the crypto-space on all the developments that we are working on.
