The New WhiteCoin and It's RPOS Mining Governance
After running and testing the project for 5 years, in July 2019, after two critical meetings, WhiteCoin community officially voted to upgrade the POS3.0 main chain to a RPOS based cross chain project, and formally renamed the main chain based on POS3.0 mechanism to XWCC, and the cross chain project based on RPOS to XWC.
RPOS mining is mining by voting. Miners on the XWC chain can get the opportunity of independently mining blocks and earn rewards by voted asset weight. After registration, miners can mine on PC terminals, but can't mine through mobile phone terminals. However, users on the mobile phone terminals can choose to vote for any miner to mine, and get a certain dividend income calculated according to the pledge proportion and miner's fee percentage.
1. Register an Account
Only registered users can participate in mining. Registration requires a handling fee of 10XWC.
2. Select miner
To vote, a miner must be selected first, which can be comprehensively considered according to the factors such as miners fee percentage, voting weight, number of missed blocks, etc. The fee percentage represents the percentage of mining revenue collected by miner, which is deducted from the total income before its distributed to the voting users. The voting weight indicates that the higher proportion of the total assets voted to one miner, the greater the probability of getting blocks, but also means that participating users may receive less revenue. You can select a miner and click Expend to see more information, or click Expand All to see details on all miners. You can also search for specific miner information to vote through the "Search" button in the upper right corner.
3. Currency and quantity of voting
XWC and any assets stored on the XWC chain (BTC, LTC, ETH) can be used for voting, by any quantity. If a user votes with BTC, the voted asset will be converted into XWC weight with the BTC/XWC ratio, then add to the miners total weight.
4. Addition and Redemption
Each voting record can be added or redeemed at any time. Users can continue to vote assets for the same miner again. They can choose the currency voted with before or change to other currencies currently supported through XWC chain. When redeeming, only the currency type which was voted with can be redeemed, and the quantity is self-determined.

The assets voted by users will earn certain amount of dividend income in return, which is calculated with the factors such as the amount of blocks the miner mined, miners voting weight, miners fee percentage, and others. Swap Time
Whitecoin will initiate swap of XWCC toward XWC at 18:00 October 10, 2019 (GMT) 10:00 (HK time) 6:00 (NY time). The entire swap cycle will last for six months. When all swap are completed or the deadline arrives, the swap process will be terminated.
Swap Channel
All community users who participate in Whitecoin Ecology and those who are interested in cross-chain ecology of blockchain can participate through the official website: www.whitecoin.info. Make sure that you have old XWC (XWCC) assets to participate in the swap for this event is for XWCC holders only. If you dont have XWCC, you can purchase from relevant digital asset trading platforms, such as zb.com, xt.com, bw.com, Lbank, Funcoin, etc.

Swap method: The total amount of whitecoin currently issued is 250 million, of which 50 million will be swaped toward XWCC holders, and the remaining 200 million will be swapped through combination of ETH with old whitecoins.
Swap ratio: Within the 50 million XWC allocated for swap, XWCC will be converted at a ratio of 4:1, and the XWCC + ETH combination will be converted at a ratio of 1:3.

Swap Lock-in Mechanism: After swap, you can freely choose whether to lock or not. Participation in the Locking Program of New Whitecoin will not only benefit from locking reward, but also benefit from mining. Six-month lock-in will receive an additional reward of 10% of the locked amount, and twelve-month lock-in will receive an additional reward of 25% of the locked amount.
All asset locked in will participate in the mining, and all the proceeds from the mining will be returned to participants.

Swap Follow-Up
Exchange Issues: After the beginning of the swap, the exchange will gradually open the main chain switching. Mainstream exchanges such as ZB.COM are expected to launch new XWC transactions one week after the opening of the swap, and other exchanges will gradually switch over. XWCCs trading will gradually delisted from exchanges, and at least one or two exchanges have confirmed to support XWC and XWCCs simultaneous trading.
Wallet: Whitecoins POS 3.0-based Windows, Mac and Ubuntu wallets can continue to be used. Official team will continue to maintain upgrades to the main chains and wallets until the swap is complete. Coinomi and other mobile wallet will allow XWC and XWCC to coexist for for a while, then XWCC will be delisted.
Mining: After the swap is completed, all XWC holders can mine by downloading the official wallet. As Whitecoins mining revenue decreases year by year, the earlier the participation, the higher the revenue. At the same time, cross-chain assets such as BTC, LTC and ETH can also participate in mining.

Whitecoins new main chain was launched on September 21, 2019. At present, all miners are official nodes. After the swap is opened, all XWC holders can register as miners or mortgage to the official miners for mining. With the gradual addition of miners from the Whitecoin ecosystem, the official miners will gradually exit.
All the profits of the official miners will be locked in Whitecoin Foundation and returned to the community later.
Miner: Whitecoins POS 3.0 based miners will continue to mine until the Swap is complete. The new RPOS based Whitecoin main chain will adopt the pledge mining model, which is not supported by the original POS 3.0 miner.

Bittrex removal
The Whitecoin team can confirm that XWC will be removed from trading on Bittrex July 12th.
We are very disappointed to be announcing that Whitecoin will no longer be traded after July 12th on the Bittrex platform. This is an unfortunate ending to an over 5 year relationship with Bittrex dating back to April 2014. We have reached out to the Bittrex team who have confirmed that now the removal process has commenced it is final and the team are unable to take steps to prevent our removal.
We are again disappointed that greater communication and opportunity to address Whitecoins removal was not given to us but we do understand Bittrex decision as a greater level of information from them does provide the opportunity for insider trading, which does protect users from malicious actors.
Why is Whitecoin being removed
Quite simply, we do not know. We have not been given any basis for their decision just that they follow their removal policy.
What now for Whitecoin
The team will continue to work on improving and moving Whitecoin forward. We will be exploring as many options as possible to progress our development allowing Whitecoin to grow from this point.
We still have numerous markets available for trading on including;
Each of these exchanges are high profile, large volume markets which will continue to be options for Whitecoin members to utilise. Were also supported on other smaller platforms.

2018/19 Roadmap Released!
The Whitecoin team is very excited to announce the release of our 2018/19 Roadmap!
2018 has been a huge year for Whitecoin in all facets with growth and development spanning all aspects of the Whitecoin sphere. We plan to continue this trend in to 2019 with a vast array of update to many aspects of Whitecoin, the roadmap outlines the areas we plan to focus our efforts in for the remainder of 2018 and into 2019.
The roadmap as a whole aims to bring many improvements that benefit end users such as; Whitenode updates, the addition of an Electrum SPV wallet and the implementation of a Masternode network update.
In 2019 the Whitecoin team also aim to focus on community input and improvements to our visual media including the implementation of a user voice platform, style guides so that community made content can be seamlessly be integrated into wider media, promotional videos as well as the completion of our currently being built website launch.
To aid the long term development of Whitecoin we will be adding an option of donating the PoS staking reward to the team, with the hopes to ensure a steady funding stream allowing greater flexibility of resources to bring future projects to completion.

To the whitecoin developers.
Some of us noticed that our whitecoins bought back when whitecoin was launched are no longer valid on the new chain. On the forum it says that you guys did a coin swop sometime in the begining of the year. There were many of us who were not aware of this and now would still like to get our coins on the new chain. How can you guys just cut of your early supporters just like that. There should have been a reserve coin balance that should have catered for all those who did not do the swop.Would any of the main developers please respond, it is totally unfair that we have lost our coins.

I'm not sure how much detail you've read about why and how the coin swap happened.
But yes, early 2017 the coin swap happened so over a year ago now.
The primary reason no reserve was held is due to maintain integrity and not be perceived as profiteering from unallocated/unclaimed coins.
Secondly it is impossible to validate that someone on the old chain holds the coins that they claim as the blockchain is non-functional so although you may legitimately hold legacy whitecoins there is no true way to prove this.
Thirdly the coin swap did occur essentially due to two factors 1. the blockchain having severe problems (primarily due to a lack of support) and 2. Bittrex (which was our only active exchange at the time) demanding that we have a working blockchain to continue to be listed, which is not an unreasonable request.
This meant it had to be done quickly with decisions made in the moment, if we were in such a position again I'm sure we'd have a greater level of contingency.
I hope this helps you to understand the fundamental problems of your statement that there 'should have been a reserve coin balance'

Yes, quite a weird sentiment as Whitecoin doesn't have:
1. Any specific association with Bittrex, their lawyers or any sort of shilling agreement (although I'd be pretty happy if Bittrex did decide to shill Whitecoin)
2. Any association with Canada above any other country, considering the nationalities of our dev team there is no association with Canada (but we're quite fond of Canadians, they seem to be good folk for the most part)

- After setting encryption password give feedback
- After setting encryption password, start the wallet again.
- Fix modal submit action and remove modal display after action

- Fix mobile dropdown menu
- Connections now show country where connected peers are located
- Recreate system menu, and move console out of experimental
- Fix reboot button on reboot page, this was not doing anything yet.

Hello all! Were very pleased to announce the release of the Whitecoin wallet v2.5.2.0
From our winning logo we had to update the wallet as well and this one comes with a redesign, now its looking even more professional and modern. We also left the old fork behind, so the wallet wont connect anymore to wallets lower then version 2.5

Whitecoin has successfully forked, now 5 XWC block reward
At 1st of June 2018 at 22:00 UTC (block 609332) the Whitecoin blockchain succesfully forked to a new chain. This upgrade fixed an issue with staking rewards and increases the stake reward from 2 XWC to 5 XWC.
The fork fixed the following
The update went smoothly thanks to combined effort of many individuals. The developers made sure the migration could be done seamlessly, all exchanges and platforms have been contacted by our PR team and the community updated their wallets to the latest version. Extra thanks to Oizopower, dev0tion and Blitzkitten for their hard work!
If youre still running a wallet older that version v2.5 you will need to update before you can interact with the XWC network again. If you sent XWC while on the wrong chain, your address still has those XWC on the correct chain. If someone sent you XWC, your address on the correct chain has those XWC, your client just cant see them yet (assuming the sender is on the correct chain). To confirm XWC did or did not send on the correct chain, check the destination address on the block explorer.

Unfortunately no, the coin swap that had to happen means that, as you put it "old toilet wallet"s are not compatible with the current network.
The period for swapping to the current network occurred over a year ago now.

Ubuntu 16.04 64bit Whitecoin-qt loads but does not stake. I just updated to 2.5.1
When you say does not stake, the wallet won't unlock for staking? Or you're not receiving any block rewards?
Not receiving rewards, it unlocks but won't stake. It stuck forever on "7 minutes until block reward..."
Yeah that's the fundamental problem we've had and the reason we are doing the update.
As of 1st of June at 22:00 UTC it will be fixed. Until then you may get a stake but it is unlikely.
On the upside blocks will now we worth 5XWC instead of 2.

We have chosen this time as it allows us the time to finalise the updates to our wallet and Whitenode, which we expect to have released by the end of this week. It also allows ample time for you the end user to update to the new client, more importantly though it allows us the time for platforms which support Whitecoin to update and provides the necessary time for good communication with these platforms on their status and to address any potential issues which do arise.
We do understand that everybody would like this problem fixed quickly and the team recognise this. We think that it is vital to be diligent and allow the necessary time to ensure everything is in working order.
