Well, saying that you make it sound like there won't be any other currency transformation. But we can't predict that just yet. Bitcoin is definitely here to stay for a very long. would there be another form of money? Well, it's  too soon to draw up conclusions.

This fun picture got me thinking. https://imgur.com/2GwIL5Y

What are your biggest fear in crypto?
As for me, it's losing my private keys by accident. I know that the risk is minimal, but the thought of it makes me anxious from time to time. Also, I'm afraid that BTC dumps during the transaction.

Waking up one morning and knowing that the whole cryptocurrency market went down to nothing?
Or maybe finding out that all your crypto (or your private keys) was stolen or lost somehow?

By the way, Happy Halloween!
Would it be weird if I say nothing? 😄😄😄 Well, in the crypto space, I would say waking up one day and finding out that whole cryptocurrency market went down to nothing. But then I know the probability of this happening is very slim 😄. Cryptocurrency is here to stay 😌

This ia nothing beneficial to the bitcoin. Using blockchain technology has nothing to do with bitcoin. Blockchain is just a technology. Many banks or others will use it sooner or later but legalism of bitcoin is something else. I don't know much about the cryptocurrency laws on bitcoin, but in general, it seems suncontinental people are having worse time with bitcoin.
Exactly. I was going to ask if he's referring to use of the technology (Blockchain) or the use of crypto (Bitcoin). Banks will definitely adopt this technology. Some are currently working on their blockchain. Eventually one way or the other they will definitely adopt the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.

😂😂😂

Do not invest into something you have little or no knowledge about. What are your strategies? Do you have the trading skills? Are you patient?. No, it's not a mistake to invest into Bitcoin but if you're looking for daily or monthly income then Bitcoin is not the right place to invest in.

Re: Bitcoin Legality effect
by
Whittiesense
on 31/10/2019, 12:28:41 UTC
If bitcoin become legal across the globe that will be the start of the bitcoin mainstreaming and bitcoin will be used as a legal tender. But even with the legalities bitcoin needs to overcome some big issues such as slow confirmation rate, areas without electricity and internet connection, poor people who cannot even buy computer or smartphones. So possibly it bitcoin is legalize the usage of bitcoin will still be limited in urban areas with people who can afford to purchase computer and smartphones. The problem will hit the extreme poor people and the people in far flung areas that has no access to electricity and internet connection.
You are absolutely right. Certain rural areas will be affected greatly. Fiat won't disappear easily. It will take decades for bitcoin to be generally accepted everywhere and used by everyone. The unlearned ones would find it difficult to understand what it is, much more use it. We have a long way to long to go ☺️.

Re: Bitcoin is difficult to accept in countries
by
Whittiesense
on 31/10/2019, 10:00:47 UTC
Until now, Bitcoin is hardly accepted by countries for what it is because it is [1] beyond their comprehension, [2] a threat to their existing fiat system, [3] is neither issued nor directly monitored or supervised by the government, [4] is not owned by a certain person or company which the government could easily communicate, convince, or even threaten when the necessity arises, [5] is somehow anonymous, [6] and so forth. Having mentioned all these reasons, it is really difficult for Bitcoin to be accepted as legal tender in any country.
And you've said it all. No government would want to run a nation without "being in charge" especially when it comes to the country's finances. I guess some countries are trying to devise ways that they can adopt this technology and still be in charge of the circulation of crypto. But till then a country like New Zealand chose to apply the normal tax policies to any crypto payment instead of saying no to cryptocurrency.

Seriously this made me think twice and have made me roam through all my exchange accounts and wallets making sure that i have access to them in order to cash out all those pieces of bitcoin if they ever become worth it again.
Let's hope also that those exchange will not close until the time you wish for. Especially waiting to double the price of Bitcoin.
withdrawal.
😂😂😂 Oh well, I think for now binance is one of  the safest exchanges to keep those little pennies. And like you said keep a bit and ensure that you keep above the Withdrawal fee

Its interesting our some persons are taking thiss personal 😄😄😄. The young chap is blessed. Yes, not everyone is privileged to have parents or relations who will be willing to give you any amount to invest into something that we barely knew what it's future holds then. But he took the risk and fortunately it paid off greatly. He doesn't look like someone who would squander money easily because it looks like he has the right people around him. Except if misguided, will he go broke later on

Re: 17,800,000 BTC already mined
by
Whittiesense
on 28/10/2019, 23:13:29 UTC
Anyone noticed that we have breached 17,800,000 BTC already? Which means that 85% of all BTC have been mined. And in the next 10+ years we can all assumed that 'almost' all bitcoin is mined already. Have you accumulated at least 1 BTC in your wallet?

Current bitcoin mined:  17,851,062 BTC

At the moment miners are rewarded with 12.5BTC per block mined. In 2020 it will reduce to 6.25BTC per block mined. There is a block reward halving every 4 years so if you do the maths the very last bitcoin will be mined in approx, the year 2140.
By 2140??? Oh wow! Didn't think it would take that long for the remaining 15% to be mined. Crypto traders should have filled their wallets with more than 2 BTC by then ☺️

Re: Bitcoin isn't just an investment, it is the future
by

on 28/10/2019, 23:05:24 UTC
Well written mate. Bitcoin Is a very powerful coin. And it's one of the major cryptocurrency investments for cryptocurrency holders and traders. Though most persons are not interested in the "knowledge" /"technical" aspect. If you wish to just invest, bitcoin is one of those long term investments . You don't get a huge profit until months or even a year. Now when you don't understand what you are investing into, would you be patient enough to wait for the profit?

I look forward to a future where cryptocurrencies will be finally become the new money.

It baffles me when I hear or read news like this. I'm quite sure most of the times newbies get introduced to the blockchain or cryptocurrency through someone who is quite strong and understand how things work here. So how do they become preys to people like this? Why not reach out to the person who brought you into the system or do your own research. Yes, I know sometimes when we do our own researches we still need some clarifications so JUST ASK QUESTIONS!!!. If you do not trust anyone or a particular exchange to trade, look out for the ones popularly known or used that used an escrow system and avoid being victims of cases like this.
Well, we always learn from our mistakes.

Re: Will You Advise Newbies To Enter Bitcoin Now?
by

For me, it's not about entering Bitcoin which I want to believe you're referring to buying, hodling or investing Bitcoin. You have to understand what you're about to "enter". Besides it's never late to get into something as long as you're prepared to face what ever comes afterwards whether positive or negative. If they don't enter now, they will eventually hopefully with an understanding of what the crypto space is all about.

Re: [2019-05-08] Binance Confirms 7000BTC ($40m) Security Breach
by
Whittiesense
on 14/05/2019, 22:10:07 UTC

Binance is supposed to be beyond hacking as we expect that it can avail of the best and the most expensive security technology available at hand. Unfortunately, nothing is really secured in our modern interconnected world as hackers, phishers, scammers and all their cohorts are one step ahead of the game. In fact, the best way to do is to hire those hackers into your side...this is a good idea that Binance should look into. The reality is that Binance can be hacked, what about ordinary guys and gals like us?
Grin Cheesy Grin Wow! Hire them to your side! If only that was truly possible, because first of all they hide their true identities. Expect they make a publication stating their intention (with the peace flag). Then just maybe, one of them might show interest to work with the company or organization. But on a second thought, how much can the organization pay them when they can easily get their desired amount from their comfortable zone?. So the possibility of this happening is slim. Also , if they do agree to the terms and conditions, what's the guarantee that they will not be apprehended?

Re: [2019-05-08] Hackers Are Shuffling Binance’s Stolen Bitcoin
by
Whittiesense
on 14/05/2019, 21:54:13 UTC
It appears that the BTC from the Binance hack is now being moved around to new addresses. The transactions are continuing to be sent out in smaller and smaller amounts, from one account to the next. Amy castor, a block-chain analyst, answers why the BTC is being moved so quickly with such a high rate of activity:

“Money laundering 101: breaking the transactions up into smaller and smaller amounts making them more and more difficult to track”

It is amazing that with the modern technology we have, people can be able to see and watch the movement of the stolen cryptocurrency but there is nothing we can do about. The technology we are employing is helpless in stopping the said movement...this is one thing I realized that no matter how advanced we are essentially we are still limited and sometimes powerless. This is akin to watching people being murdered while your hands and feet are tied. Such is the irony of a society relying so much in technology.
First of all, it was a big shock that Binance security was breached. Hearing this for the first time since the incident, its sad that all we can do is just sit and watch as they take advantage of the loop holes despite the technology we have. Isn't there a possibility that this can be traced and stopped? Are we ever get to the that stage in tech where cases like these can be resolved be with ease? #developers

Re: [2019-05-14] BTC tops $8,000 highest since July 2018

I do not think the consensus conference held recently has a major influence on the current price of Bitcoin. Before the break out, some organizations gradually starting using Bitcoin for payment even music artistes too. For the first time since i've been following twitter trends, i've never seen bitcoin trend until today. It appears this adoption we are preaching about is getting closer. It might be too much to ask if we expect it to hit $10,000 this month. Considering the fact that we've watched it struggle over the past months, only a miracle can make that happen within this short period. I like the gradual pump  Smiley . My only wish is for Bitcoin to carry its relatives alongside (altcoins)  Cheesy Cheesy

Re: Are You Afraid of KYC?
by

on 14/05/2019, 20:16:55 UTC
Hello There! This is a very old post but fortunately it popped up among the top topics in this section. No i'm not afraid. I do understand that KYC vet requires some sensitive information so i get skeptical when i'm required to input my BVN (bank verification number) details, especially when the projects/exchanges are not well known or trusted yet. So i do research concerning that project/exchange , ask questions from trusted and reliable sources before i complete the process. But if the company/project is running their ICO and requires KYC vet... Its a NO-NO for me.

Re: Newbies don't want to learn
by

on 05/05/2019, 22:45:45 UTC
What makes you think every newbie on this platform is actually a newbie when it comes to crypto currency
I have seen newbie accounts promote referral links and bots airdrop and you believe they are newbies ?

The forum might present ranks truly; that doesn’t make every newbie a newbie
I maybe a newbie in the forum ranks and a pro knowledge wise
Thank you for dropping this. You can't judge or assume that they do not want to learn. They might be sluggish or reluctant to initially but if one is going to survive in this blockchain and Cryptocurrency space, then knowledge is key. You can't reap from where you never sowed. They might be here for the bounties rewards but for how long? There are better opportunities out there in the blockchain space but lack of knowledge might deprive them from taking advantage of these opportunities
