There are a few projects to keep an eye on but my top pick would have to be DeepOnion.

DeepOnion as mentioned in your post has been recently delivering advancements as far as their privacy and security goes. With new updates such as TOR EDGE 3.3.0 + OBFS4 and most recently added MEEK as pluggable transports it can be said that internet censorship is not an issue.
Seems like the Chinese government is looking for something that will ONLY benefit the chinese, by encouraging the use of NEO and blocking other cryptos.

No it's not dead, don't you realize that this is an on going and constant thing.. BTC rises everyone sings and dance, it comes down and everyone begins to panic, check the historical charts past few years it's been following the same trend. Doesn't mean it always will but more than likely it will .
Careful on the webpages you are visiting. If connected to a hotspot at SB that hasn't been compromised then running a firewall should assist otherwise you're exposed to attacks from scripts that can be ran on a web browser with out your consent and knowledge.
