The tips can go to the guy who made the initial post not to me i am just re-sharing. his btc tip address is in the picture!

righteous decision. my 0.05 tip already on the way! boosted the value of my 2btc for 10-15% so the tip is deserved!

I don't recommend online wallets.

Online wallets are more secure that a homemade computer.

Online wallet is a risk. Homemade computer is no risk. Just do not connect the computer to internet and you got yourself a secure cold storage.

Re: When does adoption begin to push up BTC price?
by
WillemStelen
on 19/03/2014, 20:15:49 UTC
It's all speculation. When you buy bitcoin with the purpose of immediately selling them again for a product or service you are speculating that the money you pay for them will turn out to be worth the desired product or service. There is no such thing as not speculating in finances. Not even if you are not aware that that is what you are doing.

yes it is all speculation. but speculation plays really big role in our crypto-world.

how many shirts = 2kg?
how are the packages marked? avoiding customs?

i am not very sure about the weight, but i guess about 10 should weigh 1KG.
Well for customs i don't think there should be any troubles we can send as parcel and have it posted to you..But if you are required to clear customs in your place even after we mark it as parcel then i cant do anything about it, you will just have to follow the law, but my own opinion i don't think there will be custom problems...
[/quote]

marking it as parcel could probably help but when customs see multiple same items they will think it is for reselling and almost certainly they will add some taxation on that. i will check and get back with order if customs can be avoided

thanks for throwing me under the bus(users can still withdraw their funds from OpenEx btw)

Ok fair enough I didn't realise funds were returned there after the breach. Will update my post.

no there were funds lost, i was holding withdrawals on the deficient withdrawals while i built the little system to track who lost what and create a code system so they could recieve a "debt share" when the new OpenEx platform launches. that way there is atleast a hope they can get their coins back.

can you clarify this? so in fact there are lost funds? who will cover for them? are the clients losing anything? if yes - why don't you take the resposibility instead of them??

Re: When does adoption begin to push up BTC price?
by
WillemStelen
on 18/03/2014, 01:05:15 UTC
We all saw China frantically purchasing all at once, thereby shoving the price from $300 to $1200 practically overnight.

Now all that nonsense is gone, Gox failed, etc.

I just read an article today stating:

"The number of business accepting Bitcoin as a currency has grown sharply in the last year.  They now number in the thousands."

At some point adoption levels need to start "latching into" the market price, and begin "dragging it upwards". At some point, speculation value will be replaced by demand, right? Its just strange to me that we aren't seeing that yet.  I often wonder what the "true value" of a Bitcoin is, if you were to eliminate speculation.

By true value, I mean its value supported 100% by adoption, commerce, and demand for more.  We must still be in the lower hundreds.  Because despite thousands of new merchants, the price doesn't seem to have begun nudging upwards permanently.

-B-

Permanently is a hard word. Stable is also a hard word in the bitcoin world so dont expect too much reasonable things to happen

So the more we as a community bother and hound him the more money he will make in the lawsuit?
If I was him, I'd sue too.

I wonder if he will actually go forward with a lawsuit.   If he does, it will definitely be uncovered if he is actually the Satoshi Nakamoto that Newsweek claims.
And how so?

detectives, lawyers, judged, private investigators. that's how
