If people can still grab some coins by playing it, it would be fun though.
For this coin to be human-mineable price must be very low.

It's over, forget about it. Botters have shown us that machines are much better at this game than humans.

It's why I started to look thro HMC posts... I know absolutely nothing about MOTO. I want to try to understand how it works... Looks like I will need to look into source too... 'Allowed time' doesn't serve as difficulty well... And I don't remember if he told anything about map difficulty (although subjectively for me it's seems that it's definitely harder when there are more miners around). (EDIT: he told about Perlin noise 'difficulty' - post from June 11 2014, but I still do not sure if it was implemented in some way. I need to continue to read the thread, I'm on 42nd page just now). In short words: what the miracle is that 'anti-warp' feature?.. Maybe it can serve not only MOTO, but other cryptos as well...
Anti warp is to prevent time warp attacks (HMC started to call it this way). Difficulty is adjusted using maximum allowed time, however it cannot drop below the median time of last N blocks (this is to prevent making mining impossible). Say if target time is 30 seconds and you generate only 30 seconds replays then time will never drop below 30 seconds, if you can genereate 30 second replay each second you can instamine many blocks and difficuly will not increase to counter that. Anti warp adds classical PoW to map generation to prevent this.

This is it, i'm going to make my own motocoin. I have no idea how to create the genesis block for motocoin specificly so I'll just leave this one here. It'll say 5 7 months behind or something though. Unless someone else knows how.

I think it's over.
Unless someone will release a working bot. I don't see any way to make it human mineable again.

You need not only to be a programmer but to be a good one. I made this coin but I have almost no idea how to make a bot. Before HMC's hardfork it was easier but now this is very non-trivial. I think we will all benefit if botman will release his bot. Maybe intentionally slowed down version or which sends some part of reward back to him.

p.s if you tell me how to set up a miner I can have at least 2 decent PC's mining.
How to set up a bot in windows, plz
how much bandwidth does it take?
Bot mining instructions need to be clearly detaield on the motocoin website...
First, you should create your own bot, no public bot-miners are available.
It doesn't take more bandwith than simply running a wallet (which is very small).

MOTO NEEDS MANY MORE MINERS!

Considering how it is both fun and profitable to mine it (the exact opposite of most coins, IMO.  Even HUC is only fun and not very profitable!) it is surprising that we still face this situation several weeks in.

Any suggestions?
We need to start some kind of promotional campaign. Those who hold large amounts of moto can offer reward for this. Psychocoin already started to do things like this, he started a twitter account, made new subreddit, I was paying him from premine, but then bots gone crazy, price dropped etc. We can also do giveaway.

I have an issue with the windows wallet... I changed it's directory, and it doesn't launch the motogame anymore. I tried changing it back, and it opened the game as normal. Is this a bug, or a normal procedure?
What directory did you change, data directory passed with "datadir" argument or executable working directory? If you changed datadir it should work and if you changed working directory it may fail, but I don't see any reason to change working directory. I'm not sure but I think that wallet searches for game relative to working directory, not to the motocoin-qt.exe, this should be fixed in future.

Here is the sha256sum for the gitian builds with mine compared to HunterMinerCrafter:

It looks like everything (that I have compiled) matches HunterMinerCrafter's build. Except for the fact that HunterMinerCrafter doesn't have motocoin-0.8.7.2-win32-setup.exe.

I confirm that these are the same hashes that I got and they are they the same in the distributed binaries.

I think we should allow voting over at least what are currently the two constants in the formula: min path length and base hashing work requirement.  Other things we could consider including are:
...
Bots will vote for parameters to make bot-mining easier.

  • Accelerating in the air doesn't cause angular momentum.
Elma physics is more realistic here. When I was converting physics from floating-point to fixed precision this one was particulary hard so I just removed it because it is very small feature.

  • The head is dead centered. There is no difference if you turn the head to avoid obstacles.
Head position is very differently computed in elma and motogame. Elma has some strange and sophiscated logic for it while in motogame it is similar to wheel positions computation.

  • The breaks have little to no grip.
Either I messed up something or it is a result of approximations that are used for wheel-ground collisions computations. It is noticeable not only while braking but also during acceleration.

  • Great angular momentum can be cancelled out with one spin in the opposite direction.
This is very unphysical behaviour in elma.

Elma freefall acceleration is 10m/s2 but it runs in slow motion.
Time coefficient in Elma is 0.4368 while default time coefficient in motogame is 0.5 thus motogame is a little faster by default.
For you reference, wheel radius is 0.4m.

EDIT: if you want to measure freefall acceleration in real seconds than it is 0.190794m/s2 in elma and 0.25m/s2 in motogame.

Because this bot is still somewhat reliant on a map filter we can expect it to be hit pretty hard by the anti-warp work kicking in.  Because the operator has decided to remove any throttle, we can expect that anti-warp to ramp up quickly.  I say we let it run the course, and take the opportunity to see a pragmatic test of the anti-warp in action.
There were several retargets and this bot still generates at this insane speed. Seems that additional work required to generate maps doesn't affect him. Moreover, according to nonce values http://37.153.97.65:3000/block/6e7aed75f4971bb185fb143dfbb7b6c4aacc0019c71fb3daf101bd561f3c620d he now enumerates even more maps. Or maybe he just tries to confuse us and intentionally uses larger nonce values.

If this bot is better than humans not only at searching for map but at actually playing the game (and it seems so, given how fast it can solve these non-trivial maps) then requiring more work to generate a map will not make humans more competitive. It may slow down him but he will still be superior to humans. We need to change game itself, not only map validity criteria, to fight these kinds of bots.

I must say that this bot is pretty impressive, old bots look like idiots compared to him. This annealing thing or whatever else he uses is pretty good. The one who made this bot probably put a lot of effort for very low reward.

That's interesting how fast was it botted again. This bot enumerates only about 1000-2000 levels to find a good one.
Wow. Since my desktop computer is broken, my laptop is the only thing I can mine with and it takes me 2.5 seconds just to generate 1 map
AFAIK only 25% of all maps are valid so you also enumerate several maps. There is also some time spend in precomputing some information that is necessary for rendering and bots don't need it.

EDIT: so if we count only valid maps then this bot enumerates only several hundreds.
