Re: Is it possible to profit on Bitcoin escrow services?

Your prediction is not entirely wrong, at least it wasn't for Localbitcoins a couple of years ago. Check this thread.

As you can see, that guy could make profit due to the fact that prices on Localbitcoins are less competitive than on a large regular exchange, such as Coinbase, which is probably explained by the comparative maturity of both platforms. Localbitcoins has grown pretty well since then, but Waterhole is still young, as you've said it yourself, so you can go ahead and try making money there.

However, be advised that there are also some risks, which are too covered in that thread.

Re: What are crypto tokens?

Hello,

I purchased some ether recently, and today saw a post about investing in crypto coins.  This term I have not heard before (am newb).  Can someone please explain how "Tokens" are different than "currency/coins", how many are there? and what is a best investment?

Tokens are coins. One coin (for example 1 Ether) is one token of the respective network.

It's good of Australian thought police to maintain the public peace so diligently.

Govt surveillance is a non-argument. You already have everything the government needs to track all your movements and most of your activities - your smartphone. Economics are a different issue though.

Re: Bitcoin has no competition

I am not using any other crypto currency at the moment, but I don't think any of them will ever overtake bitcoin. Its the standard of all, its like money now, do you see money competing with anything else? I really don't see that. So I feel bitcoin will hold it own in the market and would probably keep growing.

But you do see different currencies competing with each other. A century ago, British pound was the world currency. Now it's the USD. In the future it itself may be ousted by yen, or some other currency. It's true, no altcoin so far could provide decent competition to Bitcoin, but I don't think that the future appearance of such an altcoin is that impossible a scenario.

Buy or develop your own time machine and go back to 2008 and mine BTC on the computer at your mothers house in the basement

As solid plan as any. I'm starting a crowdfunding campaign to finance this, hopefully you won't sue me over stealing your idea.
I think a lot of people who had the idea to create a time machine so that they can become rich from using the equipment? I think the tool it is impossible. destiny will never be changed and you will not be able to make a time machine. because it would change the destiny. if you want to be rich then work hard dude

You're not stopping me.

Re: The Darvas Box

Have you ever heard about "The Darvas Box"? You will love it if you don't know because it works! The formula won't work for cryptocurrency market but it works for facebook, yahoo, apple stocks etc... not for bitcoin.

Nicolas Darvas made $2,000,000 with this formula.

http://traderhq.com/trading-strategies/darvas-box-trading-strategy-explained/
http://www.darvastrader.com/2011/02/16/why-darvas-boxes-still-work-in-modern-markets/

Can you donate me some bitcoins if you liked it? I don't know what to say but I actually need money.

How much have you earned yourself using this strategy? If you didn't earn anything with it how do you know that it still works today (provided it actually worked before in the first place)...

And if it does work, why do you ask for a donation?
You should look stock graphics. It works. I can make 5x my money in one year but I have $100. $100 x 5 = $500 is very small for one year. If you don't believe me, read about Darvas Box and look at stocks. You'll see that it works. Just be careful with stop-loss level.

That seems to be too good to be true. 5 times a year is like 400%. If it were so, everyone would be using this strategy and who would be left holding the bag then?

When in reality anything above 20% a year is considered a very good profit in the stock market
Nicolas Darvas made $2,000,000 in just 18 months! I'm telling you should learn how Darvas boxes work and look at stock market. It works.

One guy's experience can't be considered proof for how reliable the system is - he could've got lucky. This guy got an insane ROI, that doesn't mean that anyone can reliably replicate his success at any moment.

Russian government's continued undefined stance on Bitcoin
by

Russian government keeps going back and forth about Bitcoin - one month they want to ban it completely, next month they issue some stimulus packages for blockchain startup development. How long do you think will it take them to make up their minds, and how will this flip-flopping impact the overall economic climate in Russia?
