Re: Help me to recover 33.54 BTC from a corrupt wallet.dat, I'll pay you a Reward!
by

on 09/06/2021, 19:29:09 UTC

Hi folks! I have a Old corrupt wallet.dat from a client. I tried some things to recover those 33.54 BTC, since July 16. This is the wallet:

https://blockchain.info/address/1KYYVUwWSMrNkje41jzvubSRsjABu3EUt6

Next, a short summary of the history of this wallet:

*) This wallet comes from a old version of bitcoin-qt (2011), my client said "0.3.24 Beta version", but that is not sure. He remember, he could mining with that client of bitcoin-qt. In fact, he did a "copy & paste" of the wallet.dat when the client was mining and updating. Then, he put that file in a USB drive, and stored for years. When he tried to recover the wallet.dat with a new client of bitcoin-qt, bit he never had success.

*) He said, "the wallet is not encrypted with a password".

*) The size of the wallet.dat file is 112kb

What i tried, with no success :

1) I downloaded the bitcoin-qt client 0.3.24beta, and i tried to open the client with the wallet.dat loadded. i had this messagge:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1feAvAHdS8t7e2bY3pGVRPZOtMcUgkasj/view?usp=sharing

2) I downloaded the new version of bitcoin-qt client 0.12.1 (i did in July 16), and i tried to open with the same method above.

3) I tried commands from the bitcoin-qt client 0.12.1, like "salvagewallet" and "upgradewallet".

4) I tried bitcointools.

5) Then i started to open the wallet with a HEX editor and looking for a pattern like "KeyA", "key!" or any other kind.

6) Also i tried this script: https://gist.github.com/msm595/7595164. I got 0 privkey.

7)I modified the script above, changing the line 17, with other kinds of REGEX patterns. I tried:

What i need:

*)Any Kind of help, I don't rule out that I could have tried badly some previously mentioned method.

*)Don't Waste your time, requesting the wallet.dat file. I'll not pass it on.

*)You can pass me, open source scripts writed for you, with the following steps to make it work.

*)I am a Python Developer, so i'll prefer scripts writed in that lenguage.

If your recover method, helps me to recover the wallet.dat i'll pay you a reward (We can negociate it)

Still trying to recover the wallet?

Re: I will Mine Last Bitcoin
by
Wormery
on 12/05/2021, 19:28:06 UTC
According to Investopedia less than three million Bitcoin have yet to be introduced into circulation. We know that 18.5 bitcoins are mined till now. If I start mining bitcoin today, can I mine the last bitcoin? and what will happen when the last bitcoin mined? What miners will do after mining all coins?

This is a question I think impossible to answer! We will see at that moment, but maybe we'll be too old for this, when the last bitcoin waits to be mined by someone!
And in a couple of years, I strongly believe that we gonna get rid of paper money, bitcoind and other cryptos are used day by day, this type of question, what if....will be history.
I guess......

the acc might be hacked also that is for consideration.
that other people beside the owner has access to login into acc.

i have experienced above case.
I do not see any association between the account being hacked and the wallet being sold. Even if the account is hacked, the wallet sale will not affect.

brokk, how will you sell your ETH wallet? I mean the way you send your wallet to the buyer, maybe send private key or json file? How do you make sure you don't access your wallet again and take it all away?

Finally! And I dont think in hacked account! Not this one, at least.

My tip is to meet at some sort of table and set up a camera to monitor the transaction.

Very transparent idea and very simple, no one could say something unreal.

I speak for turkey. ı opened a small business in a city with a population of 100.000 in turkey. sport complex. but things are bad. I think the level of culture of the people in the place where the business is going to be opened is very important. some cultures do not like to get services and pay him. the service you give is not a matter of water even if you want to drink free of charge. I first to determine the socio-economic status and socio-cultural levels of the people around the place.

Hello sir,
Do you still have your business opened? And where in Turkey?
Thanks

Re: Will bitcoin be the ideal currency of the future?
by
Wormery
on 28/04/2021, 21:14:29 UTC
When I say ideal I mean:

  • People cannot born them from blown air and some day they will not be able to earn from coinbase's rewards.
  • Over time, it will still have value.
  • It cannot be spoiled by human.
  • It is decentralized, no one controls it.
  • You can send/receive the currency really quickly.

These are some basics requirements for the ideal currency. But I have a question. There are public and private keys out there. You can take anyone's public key and send him/her bitcoins. In the future, like 2100, you understand that technology is advancing. Those years I believe that brute forcing a private key will not be something impossible. Do you think that bitcoin will be spoiled by human in the future?

Should bitcoin use SHA512? Or something even stronger?

Bitcoin, quick response!
It is already! And will be a very long long time. But we dont know yet, most of us.

Re: Ideas for Crypto Projects
by
Wormery
on 26/04/2021, 21:51:41 UTC
I had many ideas for a while ago about projects related to cryptocurrencies, but implementation is difficult and almost impossible for me. I will mention on this topic some ideas and wish we would discuss them (I am not sure of the correctness of the appropriate section for this).

Cryptocurrencies are the beginning of financial freedom in general, or decentralization. And all casinos that accept cryptocurrencies will not be entered by a reasonable person without using "Provably Fair" to ensure that the betting will not win / lose unless this is really his / her luck. My ideas were about transforming also some of the (games / gadgets) that their companies control it.

Game Description:

Well if you know the paper-based Uno or the Mattel163 mobile company that created the UNO game, similar to the central casino. You buy money inside the game, for example 60k UNO currency for $ 30, and in return, inside the game, you enter Single or 2v2 betting, and you choose the amount to bet on, and either you win or lose, often the winner is the one who owns many action papers, and since it is just a game, of course UNO Coins will not be converted into money (i.e. what you win, you just play with it).

My Idea:

Copy the exact same idea of the game, the same style, and make a copy on the web (Facebook games actually did this and it was very similar to the mobile version), with a slight change in the paper distribution algorithm (such as BJ) i.e.: adding Provably Fair. In fact, my idea branched out into two, 1. Create a casino that pays for cryptocurrencies (based on the same idea of the game that I mentioned above), 2. The game remains the same, but with the Provably Fair addition as well.

Why? :

In fact, I love this game, and I have an account and I made some purchases in it (over $ 500), and what I noticed was before I paid in the game was making me always and significantly lose, but what I noticed after I upgraded my account to VIP, I was playing with real people who have Pictures in their account, while I own three cards (+4 which means that I will win without talking), and this was the first match after the purchase, i.e.: as a gift from the game (certainly not a coincidence), I see this is not a gift, but rather a fraud, so this idea came Mine.

I will update the topic with the rest of my ideas if requested.  Smiley

I saw in this article a paragraph where it says "Consumer Education & Gamification" don't you think that this is a bit far off ? I mean the people who want to interact with the platform or even more if they want to be a prosumer should have done some basic research about this and should have some knowledge in this field
