Again, nothing wrong with trying to hype up votes, but saying we are number #250+ (or whatever it is at) is really meaningless. It'd take 10 years to get voted up at this rate.

What could be done, and probably wouldn't even be that difficult:

Rebrand. As I stated previously, tying the coin to LTC or XBC is pointless. And when I say tied, you aren't even tied to them in any tangible way. Right now, DCM is tied to XBC in a much more real manner. XLC has as much in common with LTC/XBC as those LitecoinX coins, or Lightcoin does. Any rise for either of them won't positively affect XLC, or if it does, it simply means people are completely insane and are seeing some invisible link.

The coin has a nice wallet, just think of some goal/unique purpose/benefit or something to brand the coin around.  Rename it entirely. There are very few coins and a very low price... it shouldn't be that difficult getting some value into the coin.

Use IPO funds for marketing/mobile wallets/better website and all of that stuff. But after the rebrand.

Same goes for other exchanges. I expect Polo is off the table due the the dev's, umm... 'actions' in regard to the XBC ipo stuff, but go for smaller exchanges at least. If Bittrex drops the coin, at least it will have a temporary home then. If the coin gains any traction at all, spend some of the ipo money on MP voting at that time.

This wallet is crazy, I open it few times a day for a split second and ...there's like 10 transactions every day.
I will buy more XLC just for the ''stake'' of it.

The initial hype over the ipo sustained XBC for a while (and quite well). Then inactivity (or a broken wallet) nearly killed it. Duplicating low activity based on the idea XBC survived it, so others coins might, probably isn't the best idea.

As for other exchanges... well, since bittrex stated they were going to delist the coin initially, it may not be the worst idea to have the coin on at least one other decent exchange? I know they have stated they will list the coin another week, but if they drop it, what's your plan? A coin with no exchanges? Multiple exchanges also open up arbitrage, and possibly a bit of extra volume that way. So getting the coin on another exchange can in fact increase volume, especially if you go the re-branding route.

I do think XBC has a little life still in it, if for nothing else, based on its mintpal voting. But I wouldn't try to guess if XLC will bounce up based on XBC, as really, there is little actual connection.

If you are okay with using your ipo money for new things, I'd consider not only rebranding and exchanges, but a better website, mobile wallets, and finding a unique purpose for the coin. There really is only one thing the coin currently has going for it -- small number of coins that are currently unusually cheap. Add value to the brand, and then the initial investors may at least recoup what they paid. I don't see that happening with the xlc brand, nor by trying to link the coin to xbc or ltc.

Update the wallet.. give it something special that others lack of.. and then post some pictures.. and it will bring more people to attention. wallets are like the 3rd level of interest.. sometimes the 1st.. for the ones that don't read forums or source code...

MY recommendations as XLC is dammm fast to mint...
- Post BRUTAL advertisement as XLC can bring you "mint" money fast! no need to wait all that mature time!
- Add the mature statues icon to wallet (people want to be sure of things.. and sometimes a light of it.. helps).
- Make a post every week... even if there is nothing to say.. just say.. "how are your experiences with XLC?" - be positive.. always. Trolls are easy to kill. /warcraft... =)
- Add more text into the forum page of bitcointalk

As stated, the problem was the lack of activity for the first month of the coin. There was basically no development, hence the cycle was basically... release coin... forget about coin... make temp website... then notice there is hardly any volume to the coin. It shouldn't be a surprise.

What I would suggest is:

Use the ipo funds to buy votes. Use the funds to buy dev work for mobile wallets.

And this may seem a bit radical, but at this point I don't know what there is to lose -- rebrand the coin entirely. Consider it a dead coin that a dev plans to revive.

The LiteCoinPlus name was always a bit silly to begin with. BitCoinPlus could get away with it, as at least a lot of the general public has heard of bitcoin. It's not like litecoin is doing so fantastic either, nor is bitcoinplus so popular that it even needed a sister coin. Although XBC has been going up lately, XLC has been moving down. Down so much that one of my insanely low buy orders just got hit last night, after I got out of this coin previously.

Anyway, I'd go for a rebranding and get on other exchanges via ipo funds, not volume or voting (won't happen otherwise) -- unless it's a dinky small exchange like the ones I mentioned, mostly just to use as a lifeboat in case bittrex drops the coin.

And unfortunately since I do not have any funds from the IPO there is no way for me to get it added any faster.

ok, something is 100% not correct here, you are saying you are taking over this coin or whatever and you dont have access to funds? why? this is crazy, the original dev must not think much of xlc if he cant even pump a few btc into it to get it moving in the right direction, he has enough money from the ipo, even to pay to get it on big exchange. i would like to know where these btc's are? at this moment in time im clearly not happy at all the way this is going.

hi guys can any of use help me out here, ive had to re-download the blockchain for xlc as my wallet was stuck syncing. nearly all my balance that was sitting in stake has dissapeared from my overall balance after downloading the blockchain again, where could they be? as it was a confirmed transaction that i received on the 13/5/14

The giveaway has gone nicely and I took my coins off Bittrex to stake with my other coins tomorrow to make more babies..Now way am I selling so so cheap..Let them stake and make baby xlcs lol and grow and EXLODE haha.

Correct. The top address contains probably dozens of Bittrex users. Maybe more.
Same as with XBC. As time goes on more and more people will hold in their own address as distribution improves.

Originally there were a few dozen buyers (directly from the Dev pre-Bittrex) of the IPO from what I could see from the IPO payment address. So it would
make sense that about half the coins are on Bittrex and half in private wallets. Only been a few days so as time passes
distribution will improve. And when price likely rises after getting on CMC more people will be buying and selling and
the spread of coins out to others will continue.

I think the Dev "XBCplus" has proven he is committed to this coin and has even helped the new XBC devs ("seriouscoins") with funds
which was stated by "serious" himself in their thread over there.
