One of the easiest ways to lose money is to purchase things on the recommendation of others without understanding what is under the hood

Bring your difficult Monero related questions.

Excellent reaction. Very positive outcome (my effort wasn't wasted thx).
I personally appreciate difficult questions for highly educated people like you. Monero is not perfect, but the community will not hide from its imperfections. The more intelligent people who study Monero, the greater the chance that weaknesses (and improvements) can be found.
This is one grand experiment. Of course I hope Monero succeeds, but if it does fail I will promise you one thing. I will learn something from the experience.
If you read the Kovri logs and are able, I would greatly appreciate some help. This Kovri effort is important. Please respond on forum.getmonero.org I am spending less time on Bitcointalk now and want to encourage more activity in the Monero forums which remain underutilized.
Help make sure this proposal reaches the commitment stage quickly. Supporting both the XMR and I2P proposals simultaneously will help both communities launch Stack Exchange sites faster.
Discussions regarding which questions to vote for and the importance of SE reputation can be discussed in the Monero Forums:
Thank you for the mention. My two week estimate was my best guess for completion following funding as of the time I made the post. It may end up taking slightly more time depending on my schedule as of the time it gets funded. I am always working on more than one Monero related project at a time some being more time sensitive than others.
My goal is to get as much of the community involved as possible. Personally I am happier to see donations of time more than monetary contributions.
There are many ways to help Monero without providing monetary support. Please obtain a 200+ reputation rating on a non area 51 stack exchange site and commit to the Monero SE proposal as well as the I2P proposal that I expect will be coming soon. Be prepared for multiple reminders on this topic until our goal is reached. We need lots of community support in order to accomplish our Stack Exchange goal.
i wonder why xmr development were focused on thing that we cannot see such " increase of anonimity " arent their coin anon already how would we rate their improvement
sound like a bunch of hot air to me LOL
Monero transactions are already untraceable.
Additional improvements deal with things like IP addresses and visibility of transaction amounts. Code for both the Kovri project (I2P project) and RingCT is on Gitub.

Seeing all these charts makes me feel in the minority for largely ignoring technical data in favor of fundamentals.

Re: CryptoNote technical discussion and Chess Challenge
Just a friendly reminder that exchanges are meant for trading not for long term storage.
I am afraid some people are not cognizant of this and still use Bittrex as a wallet.
Admittedly, I'm one of them - a break in habit for me. My rig doesn't (yet) have the memory to support both an AEON wallet and all my other thingies.
(To be honest, I shouldn't make that many wisecracks about Windoze given how much I've abused its virtual memory.)
You don't actually need to run the daemon and sync to create a wallet, btw. Yea, it's nice to check and make sure your coins are received, but you can just create a wallet, get the address, and send the coins there from an exchange without actually ever running the daemon.
I think wanting to verify receipt (for cold wallets) is a common wish.
