Also - what's the best pool?

Me too, I don’t buy new cards from January of this year. Profit is miserable. I undervolted my cards as much as I can and I’m accumulating ETHs and Monero waiting for better time.

Do you still make profit mining the eTH or Xmr?

This is a really sad wish, you probably lost a lot on investing in Crypto, I advise you to stand up after failures, see if that is a lesson for you in the future to come, and The next investment you will succeed than expected, wish you all good and success will soon come to you.

If you bought the ETH when it was around $2, then you made good profit.

Maybe you buy Altcoin at the wrong time and buy a coin that is not quite right. So you are currently disappointed with the decision you took the other day.
In buying Coins it is necessary first to research the coins to be purchased and to analyze the market first.
Actually, if you already have Bitcoin then sell it and buy Altcoin, I think it is a less right decision. Bitcoin is better than any other coin. Make this a lesson for tomorrow to be more careful and avoid mistakes ever made.

It is better to buy the coins with good community support like the ETH, BCH, XMR.

If you are mining with 1080ti you need to find best profitable coin instead of pointing your rig to nicehash.
Mining is serious business needs time and research all coins and pools. This is not a setup and forget scheme

I only mine to the pools. Compared to Nicehash, I got 10% more.

We are at a very good time to buy a altcoins right now. All the altcoins have gone up again and see a very good movement. Those who buy it will not regret it Smiley

That is right. The price of man good coins like Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin and Monero will rise a lot later.

Exactly this is why it is so easy to trade Bitcoin and other alt coins. Especially in the bear market minimum 10% profit a day was usper easy.

It is better not to trade Bitcoin. It is better to buy and use or hold for the long term.

I stopped mining crypto a week ago no reason to make my rigs work when we are in bullshit age i wait and use my rigs when something profitable comes along.

Wouldn't the difficulty go up when something profitable comes along..

That has happened in the past many times.

No one hates whales except those who jumped into the market when the market was in bull run, and now they're bashing whales because of the drops. Now this is the perfect accumulation time to fill your bags as much as you can.

I like the whales. They manipulate the price of Bitcoin Cash to so low so that I can buy more.

Re: BITCOIN or ETHEREUM?
by

For me, I would have 75% of my money on bitcoin and 25% of them will be on ethereum why because even though bitcoin is currently I still believe with the popularity and attention bitcoin gain on 2017 this could help the price recovery of bitcoin this 2018 which some investors or old could look forward to, as for why I would invest some of my money on ethereum because this 2018 I am hoping that the price of this would surely increase a lot this year which why I am betting my money on this coins.

That is a good diversion. The famous Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash is more secure than most other coin out there.

Bitcoin price now are starting to decline their value and it seems ethereum now in the market was in good and healthy status. Moreover as per newly news bitcoin trading in Korea was starting to restrict that's the reason why price of this coin are dropping down. While ethereum now are raising up so fast so for me it's better to choose this altcoin for now.

There are fewer unconfirmed transaction now. It is possible that the BTC price will rise again.

It's very funny how it's so scary to even invest in ICOs lately! It's either the whole thing is a joke or developers aren't responsive or just don't have the interest of investors at heart. Angry

The only thing to do is to wait for them to be listed on some exchanges... More and more often tokens cost less after the end of the ICO. Only in a few rare cases you have a profit buying during ICO

Most ICO are scams.

alts are pretty good for hedging you bitcoin investments. I think that one only needs to have pateience but when you've investd in the right coins then you will make really good profits with them. I mean look at ethereum and it's rally since the beginning of the year. How can you complain about this? I would be very happy if i would have been invested in ETh for the last few months..

That is right. Only invest in good coins such as bitcoin, bitcoin cash or Ethereum.

Re: Zcash Vs. ETH mining
by
Xenoblate
on 25/06/2017, 19:37:46 UTC
I'd switch the R9 380x over to ZEC - they should be more profitable there as they're not real good ETH miners.

For ZEC and it's offshoots, sol/s IS for all practical purposed the same as hash/s - completed "units of work / sec".

For most AMD RX series cards, ETH is generally the same to a little more profitable than ZEC.
 Older AMD cards vary.
For NVidia cards, the 1070 and 1060 are the only ones even worth considering mining ETH with but are almost always more profitable on ZEC or some of the small-cap "skein" "groetsl" "lbry" and such coins.

For mining, 9 cents/kwh is NOT cheap. There are way too many major farms that pay 3c/kwh or less and even some of us SMALL miners in the right areas can get to 3 or a hair under.

For the ZEC mining, the 1080Ti is better than the 1070 as it is relative cheaper in terms Hash /dollar.

Hi

The following is my rig:

VGA: 3 x Asus rx 480 8gb - no mod
Mobo: Asus Z170

currently, i am getting around 25 MH from each card for ether and around 300 sol for zcash
I keep switching from ether to zcash and from zcash to ether every 48 hours.
Do you think that this is a good idea? or i should keep mining ether until they switch to PoS?
What other coins can i mine with my rig?

thanks in advance.

For the 480, it is better to run the ETH. It is generally more profitable.

Re: Hacked Modified Memory Strap BIOS Database for ZEC MINING!
by

on 03/06/2017, 16:30:48 UTC
On the hunt for a couple Tahiti BIOS, any help would be much appreciated! Currently using 15.12 drivers and Claymore v12.4.

  • HIS 7970 IceQ X2 (Hynix), currently hashing at ~265
  • Sapphire 280x Dual-X (Elpida), currently hashing at ~255

Looking for something to flash on that would lower the voltage of these power-hungry cards and maybe squeeze a few extra Sols out (290-310 looks to be the peak they can do, right?) I've tried a few older BIOSes from here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/0B2XVfIhkHZlfcVR0QzhlQlhJYTA

...but none have gotten me as high as others are reporting.

They are the right speed at stock.

Re: nvidia volta
by

on 11/05/2017, 16:57:41 UTC
The Volta card unveiled is the GPU Compute card as other Tesla's have been.

This is what the 2080 and 2080ti will be eventually based upon, just wait another year for that if you're interested in it.

if you're interested in profits now, I suggest you pick up some 1070s and get to making some $$$

Now as a Gamer, I can't wait for the 2080 series, especially on the mobile side. 4k Ultra @ 60+fps on a laptop on basically every game anyone? Yeah that's coming.

good choice to buy now the 1070 but the 1070 should be 10% faster, it's maybe better to wait if you have already a farm, waiting for volta instead it's stupid there is too much time to wait and profit to lose

Next spring and a big boost.

This is really good for zec mining.

Here is my logic

https://coinmarketcap.com/

Rank---Coin------Total Cap----------Coin Price------Coins Mined--------  Daily Volume
17.......Zcash.....$124,925,489......$97.78............1,277,606............ $7,113,760

nvidia is the clear winner at mining this coin

The cap is low compared to Nvidia's $52,000,000,000 plus cap.  They can easily prop Zec's price to ensure cards sales.  Basically a rebate or commercial for their cards.

And they  can actually make money  trading the coin.  So  it is potentially cheaper and more effective then any rebate or commercial.

http://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart

   80mh    is  120,000  1080 ti's or 84,000,000 in sales

we know the network is  a mix  of many different cards, but  the gear growth  potential is huge.

nvidia and amd know about this is clear, they are releasing moster gpu for this sector too, but not only zec is good for nvidia, lbry is good too, maybe nvidia is behind the last pump of lbry? could be by how the thing are going

yeah could be.  I see that  diff could 2x  and price could stay at 100 usd  with zec  and the coin would still make money for miners.

It has been an amazing run for Gpu mining  more then 15 straight months of good coins for Gpus  and when you look at watts  the alts have beaten  BTC for more then 1 year in a row.

@ Eyedol-x  yeah  it looks like  a lot of growth  with the 2080 ti's  next year.

Early this year, if you pay 0.2/kWH for electricity, it was not very profitable.

Anything I can do with my two 7990s with hynix mems? One card is XFX reference model and the other is AMD/ATI, alsy Hynix mems. I get around 280 sol/s per core (560 per card), downvolted to 1000 mVolt (stock is 1200) lowered temps by 15-20 c. Core runs at 900 Mhz, mem @ 1500.

That is the right speed.

Don't mine with this card unless you have a good electricity rate , or you will find yourself not making a decent profit or even lossing money . better go for the rx 400 series if your electricity rate is high.

If you undervolt and under clock, you will make profit.

Your speed is already fast, no more than 2-3% gain with the BIOS.
