Re: how safe is bitcoin to use with phone

So eventually bitcoin is gonna have to compete with credit cards and mobile payments. To do this people will need to have a bitcoin mobile app.

I know there are the lightweight wallet mobile apps. Are those any safe? Will those be the future. Or will the future be having a hosted service where the company has control over your bitcoin and you can just send them to pay with stuff with the mobile app? Like Square recent integration of Bitcoin.

I don't know what options are out there now. But it would seem to me that having a secure offline savings account coupled with a hosted mobile bitcoin service (checking account) for payments would make sense. I mean I guess obviously if you're making payments you can't have everything in cold storage so some compromises on security must be made.

These wallets are all solid choices that offer both security and usability:
Airbitz (iphone or Android)
Breadwallet (iPhone)
Mycelium (Android)
Copay (all devices)
Just make sure you follow the appropriate backup procedures for whatever wallet you choose.

Coinomi if you want to hold multiple currencies.

Mycelium started out as a great wallet on Android and the dev team has been working hard at integrating with other partners. They make it very easy to watch your balances and make deposits while requiring you to insert a physical device in order to spend. Plus, if you have Galaxy S6 or Note 5 or higher, you can download an app that will turn a hardened section of your phone into one of those hardware wallets that are compatible with Mycelium.

I'm using Mycelium and haven't got a hardware Wallet. Are you saying I will need one in the future to use Mycelium? If so, I will be moving away from it ASAP.

Meanwhile, bitcoin just got integrated with Uber for tipping drivers. Isn't that a good news?

https://twitter.com/Melt_Dem/status/895466611477544960

Still dont understand why the hell anyone with some common sense would spend an asset whats gonna worth several times more this time next year???

That "asset" was intended to be money. Buy more.

If it really was intended to be first and most importantly money, then it shouldnt have a cap on its supply or Sathosi was a shitty economist.

NO, the reason it has a cap is so we dont have a problem like how banks just magically " inject money " convincing us that its value is what it is while in the meantime they are the one's holding the " real solid assets " like property, gold etc. Its the biggest scam in the history of humanity mate, Banks lending " money " to people that has no real value which you and I pay with real asset/commodity.. our time and working 12 hour shift for us to " pay our debts with these big bank mofos!

Bitcoins are great to invest and trade. Why would anyone spend their bitcoins on Uber?

Re: Stop buying Bitcoin!
by

You guys should stop buying Bitcoin - how am I going to fatten my wallet if the price keeps rocketing up?

What are we going to do when the Satoshi achieves parity with the dollar? Smiley

You're right, honestly. I was a huge skeptic of BTC for a long time but am slowly realizing just how influential it may be. I have this odd feeling that in 10-20 years owning even .1 BTC will be incredibly valuable.
The way I see it:
If there are major wars, BTC will go up
If there are problems with countries currency, BTC will go up
More investing firms are adopting Bitcoin (finally)
There is a finite amount of the currency

Internationalism is growing, which is reducing powers of national governments. That should also reduce their power to control national currencies. So btc and other neutral international solutions will grow.

Exaactly. Countries print money every day. But that's not possible with BTC. It's going up in value and every other currency is going down in value.

Good points. I also think its going to be referenced A LOT more in popular culture which will be cementing its ubiquity as the name/source of cryptocurrency.
The hype is just getting started.

What would you guys advise someone who is retired, living off pension and savings? Is it too late/risky to invest at that kind of age?
Do you guys think the elderly have a chance of jumping on the crypto train, or do you guys think it's too late for them to invest?

No is my answer. Because Bitcoin is not only a candidate in the market.

I you are interested to invest thousands of dollars you can go for Bitcoin.

Meanwhile, there are ~800 currencies in market.

I will recommend you to buy Siacoin(~7$ for 1000 coins), Golem (.25$ per coin)

And Neo(Previous known as antshares) grown around 50 times in a month. Now at 47$.

Re: You want to be a millionaire? if you own 0.01 btc you already are
by
Yahanat

The title says it all get 0.01 btc and you are on ur way to becoming a millionaire, you already are one if you do not know the true value of bitcoins, cough cough Satoshis.  Forget about owning a full bitcoin, you want to earn satoshis, which we call the units of 0 and 1 or Mbits milibitcoins.  Soon a few years from now 1 satoshi will be the equivalent of 1 USD or Euro if money is still around. You know yes most of you missed the billion dollar train but still you have time to have a million dollars worth of satoshis.  so if you do the math owning 0.10,000,000 = 10 million USD  so if you own 0.01 that makes it 1 million dollars.

You are wondering why I am saying bitcoin is worth 100 million dollars right?  We have a long way to go.  Cough cough, Many factors that contribute the value of 1 bitcoin being worth 100 million dollars.  Well Bitcoin is not just a local or gov owned store of value, its competing with Fiat currency all over the world, from USD, to the YEN.  There are many factors I can shoot out but one major one is that Bitcoin is becoming mainstreamed and the fact there is probably going to be 16 million bitcoins in circulation, why I said 16 mil?  because they are probably around 5 million bitcoins lost.  If you want to add to this topic any more factors that reason why you are already sitting on a million dollars, please be free to do so.

If you own 1/4 of a single bitcoin you will be a millionaire in 15 years

At 4 million plus a coin, that's a market cap of over 75 trillion... What world do you live in!?!?!

A world where inflation is so great that 75 trillion dollars tomorrow will only be worth what 7.5 trillion dollars is worth today

Then being a millionaire as suggested in OP's title won't mean shit either

- уменьшенные ограничения на подпись (как у Member);

Re: How high bitcoins can go?

Hello Friends,

Bitcoin has started few years back and now its 8K USD. Someone in the beginning when bitcoin has started has offered me 100+ bitcoins for a project and MY BAD LUCK I said him NO because I wanted money in USD. I will remember that day for whole of life.

3 Years back bitcoin was dealing at 300-400 USD and now it is much higher than that. Any idea or any predictions, how high can bitcoins go in near future. Please share your ideas.

Thank You

It may even become an alternative for the fiat currency.
