OMG, Luke Shaw his legg.... It should have been a penalty!

He got the ball though. It wasn't a bad or malicious tackle, just unlucky for Shaw.

Don't play 5 matches parlay next time. More than 4 matches are very risky.

You could just as easily say don't parlay 4 matches as that's very risky too. Nothing is certain. There are certain bookies that will give you your money back if one selection lets you down too.

Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong?

Gambling isn't wrong at all. It's just like drugs. Can be fun and safe but only in moderation and you need to know when to stop and that's when the fun stops. Plenty of people can occasionally gamble just like they take drugs and everything is fine just know your limits.

I don't have any story to tell but based on my knowledge gambling most of the brings you loss instead profits.
I agree with you , i am one of the victim of it , i have gambled more than 50+BTC in my life , since 2013 and the total profit is obvious loss so i had a loss of net 50+ btc and plus my precious time.
I recommend to give much importance to time than Bitcoins.
leave gambling and be safe.

Any hobby or pastime usually costs money and gambling is no different, but people just need to know to set their limits. IF you spend $30 to go to the cinema one a month then there's nothing wrong with gambling $30 a month either.

Re: Edeka "A big largest German supermarket corporation" accepts bitcoin

They "just" accept Bitcoin through Bitpay.
But hey, at least some large company in Germany is accepting Bitcoins.

Why is it "just". They still accept bitcoin and people can spend them there which is great. We need many more merchants willing to take the plunge. Doesn't matter whether they use bitpay or not at the end of they day.

Lol. I'm sure it's a legal grey area but who is going to prosecute them exactly. It clearly just a test and not with malicious intent so don't see how anyone one have grounds to try get them with this law.

Southampton v FC Midtjylland for todays match?

I wanted to make a proposal! Roll Eyes
it would be better to predict the exact outcome of two games instead of just one? with one game benefits too early while the latter are "forced" to predict results impossible (7-6 9-3 etc).
2 matchs there are so many combinations and each one can really predict the results

Guys sorry for my terrible english

Nobody is forced to predict results and making the prediction of two games isn't going to do much. With the nature of this giveaway you just have to get in early and if you don't tough luck. Maybe these spammers just shouldn't bother guessing with silly results.

Re: Higher Blocksize = lower BTC price...Why?
by
Yeezus
on 20/08/2015, 10:53:14 UTC
Hi all,

I just heard from an "expert" on Bloomberg that a higher blocksize will result in a lower btc price because more transactions will go through. But why will this result in a lower btc price?!?

Thanks in advance

Don't listen to so called experts. Most of them don't know what they're talking about. The drop in price will just be down to confusion, worry and panic if any. Once this who debacle gets sorted out I'm sure btc will climb back up again.

does anyone know when the next game  Huh

no one knows, only the admins of DB

People can suggest games though. Someone above has suggested Manchester vs Tottenham tomorrow and I hope that is picked. Should be a close game I think.

Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years?
by

if people aren't spending bitcoins - that's what i see/read around here; everybody is waiting for the price to sky rocket - this means we are creating our own bubble and we will 'die' in it! We only buy bitcoins, so the price at this moment is above, super above of what a bitcoin really value.

Not everyone is waiting for this, but even if they were the more coins that are taken out of circulation by hoarding is good because it helps the supply and demand. If more people get involved and even do the same it would have a positive effect on the price.

The only thing I hate about summer is hayfever, so I have to overdose on allergy tablets or liquid. Costs me a fortune but I can't tolerate it otherwise Sad. Wish here was just a shot I could take.

Re: The Real Untold Story Of Government's Takedown of Silk Road

This case will be pored over by a lot of people for a long time to come. I'm sure an ever increasing number of holes and oversights will emerge. It's only just starting to warm up.

There might be a lot of holes but the US gov wont care. They got their man by any means necessary and that's all that matters to them. I feel a bit sorry for Lynn Ulbricht. Ross is clearly guilty and the most they can hope for is a reduction in sentence but he still wont get out until he's an old man and that's the best case scenario.

Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account
by
Yeezus
on 15/06/2015, 14:31:40 UTC
i don't really think using bitcoin as a retirement account is the best option because the future of bitcoin is not certain as nobody really the future. Predictions is possible but it is not 100%. It could be profitable at the longrun or not profitable at all. Well, everything has risk, you just have to gauge the risk very well before taking the decision.

You could argue the same about fiat money. Most people find their money has devalued over time and just look at pensions. Some people pay into them their whole life but when they get to retirement age they can't even afford to live on them because of inflation.

Re: Record 152,800 Bitcoin transactions on May 28 following constant growth all year
by
Yeezus
on 03/06/2015, 11:56:31 UTC
so we are at almost 2 tx per second(1.7 average) with this new record, it is indeed the time to move on with the tx limit, because the next spike could reach 200k easily

the chart also show perfectly, why one should not look only at the price, others indicators like this are constantly ignored, they are more tied with what will be the future of bitcoin, than anything else

at the same time, it really shows the growth of bitcoin with the constantly increasing number of transactions; all this "bitcoin is dead" FUD is just nonsense.

Of course it is nonsense. The only people who proclaim it is dead is trolls who like to spread fud. They never back it up with any facts or figures just fud. If it was dead they wouldn't even be here and neither would we.

Re: Are you using less Bitcoin than you did last year?
by
Yeezus
on 03/06/2015, 11:53:48 UTC
I think I'm using bitcoins less but on the flipside I've been earning more bitcoins so it balances out I reckon.

If so, what can we do to help increase it?

I think the answer to this is pretty obvious: use it more. Though according to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1078996.0 there is a record 152,800 Bitcoin transactions on May 28 following constant growth all year, so I think bitcoin is still growing just at a sklow rate that we're not really noticing.

Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account

I'm using my bitcoins as a savings account but I don't really plan on it being a retirement fund. I guess it all depends on how well bitcoin does but I plan to hold for a couple of years at least with the hope to spend them in the future.

Inflation of fiat money is exactly the reason you should use bitcoin as retirement savings, since it is anti-inflation, or even better, deflation. Its purchasing power would increase long term wise. A 100% increase in 4 years time frame seems to be guaranteed due to reward halving every 4 years

I would be disappointed if Bitcoin just managed to hold its purchasing power or increases marginally in the long term. I would put aside a small amount of money, be willing to take a hit if it disappears, but also expect a substantial return if it takes off. With large scale adoption, Bitcoin's price can take off and we as reasonably early adopters, may be rewarded.
It will obviously go up, it's simply math and literally unavoidable. It's a matter of when, and having the balls to sell at peaks to buy back later. Insanely risk tho, you never know when a peak is going down or it will continue.

Can you explain the math behind this? It's not literally unavoidable at all. Maybe likely to rise in the future due to supply and demand but demand is not guaranteed and neither is bitcoins value.
