Re: [XDN] Marketing Future

So, gentlemen. I've been monitoring your discussion since the opening post, but failed to surface before bitcointalk went down, so here I am, taking my chance before it does that again.

I was following on cryptonote rather tightly back in the day and I still think that it is a groundbreaking piece of disruptive technology, that should lead the 'Bitcoin 2.0' movement. Thing is, I want to profit from it too. What I wanted to know is if there will be a seed funding run for your foundation: I hold a minor stake in BCN and a bit larger one in XMR, which I could very well invest in you, in hope of seeing a larger return. Now, I won't, of course, do that before I see a tangible, concrete plan/roadmap, because so far you were pretty abstract about your intentions. But if you are indeed going to let investors in on the deal, I'll be sure to keep track of this thread.

These guys have got the limelight already it seems, according to this http://cointelegraph.com/news/112382/bitgive-officially-recognized-as-charity-by-irs-secures-80-of-funding-target they've got 80% funding on their most recent project already regardless of the tax exemption ruling.. interesting to see if the momentum keeps up tbh. also noticed ceo is called Gallippi too, shrewd move there i think!

This is quite an undynamic argument. Whatever happened to championing the technology behind these currencies? Without development they're both going nowhere, and the devs have gotta be on the ball with finding innovative ways to apply cnote regardless.

By making assumptions of other people being trolls, you yourself start looking trollish. But I'm not accusing you guys in any way, because that's what it would be: just assumptions..

Those aren't assumptions, bytecoin is using fake accounts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.msg7505638#msg7505638

You cant get better proof then someone like onemorebtc even admitting that he sold his account that is now used by bytecoin.

Claiming that a coin is using fake accounts is a bit of a stretch. There are many shills around the forums and attempting to attribute them to one coin or another isn’t going to get you far – there are people that try to sabotage other coins by doing just that. Not to mention there are backers of coins that may purchase accounts; it doesn’t mean that the coin’s developers are the ones doing it.

I especially like it that the bit coiner is a woman. There is a large gender gap in bit coin and this addresses that as well in a subtle way.

damn right, this is the kinda level you have to aim for.. pheeva guy (forgotten his name) is on the ball! didn't think that wallet was so successful come to think of it, load of funding from somewhere?

A brief exlanation of why this discussion is pointless and... stupid.
Apparently none of these two is perfect. Stop repeating the same statements, let people make up their own opinion. Back in the days i was fortunate enough to never come across a thread like this one (or maybe they didnt even exist). So i was able to think and make choices . And i chose Bytecoin and i dont regret it.

Agreed, but really it shouldn't be about choosing at all - the coins themselves are somewhat means to an end, it's the technology behind them that really matters. That's what a) is going to survive and b) has the potential to spawn all sorts of reincarnations which will have the support and knowledge behind them to go further and be more successful.

I'm not sure one account's enough to assume a rotten apple though to be honest, and of course proving the dev's involvement is another thing.
No need to argue right now... We will only be able to tell  who is the winner after some time. What is happening to Monero today is a good pump. What's gonna happen next? Dump? or success?  We can't tell.

Agreed, arguing wasn't what I intended.. but somehow there needs to be some news soon that isn't conjecture - like for example that thread that appeared earlier about difficulty flaws, hope it doesn't give people the fear.

Another option that many people don't realize is that btc-e.com allows withdrawing money to any visa card.. including the ones already in your pocket - and it probably works with most prepaid visas you can source locally too. It sends the money through the visa network (using the long number on your CC) so it doesn't require any bank account to be attached to the card.

I did not know that! do they charge for it?

The fee is 5% - not great I suppose, but it works with your existing cards.. so it's there if you ever need it.

Yeah bit steep in the end, especially since for international use you'd have to pay the visa card charges afterwards as well.

Any news of xapo shipping anything does anyone know?

What purpose does this serve other than to fuel snobbery? Qualifications are not necessarily an indication of intelligence. And I bet a lot of those surveyed lied  Cheesy.

I'm not sure how else to explain the lack of sophistication in the abuse which is rife in many threads of this forum!  Grin

Ethereum They may be able to build an anonymity (ring sig?) layer on top of their turing complete blockchain, however it might very well be much less efficient than a native ring signature currency.

Conclusion: Watch this space, but don't be too afraid of an Ethereum based anonymous competitor.

I saw an interview with vitalik buterin who mentioned monero using ring sigs and that they were very promising or something similar, he seemed more interested in it than like ethereum's gonna take it head on. Anyhow, cryptonote tech deserves to survive long enough to give ethereum a run for its money at least.

personally, I think both bcn and xmr could do with a lot more publicity to really get them going, as could cryptonote technology.. and it's not like ethereum's gonna be short of publicity anytime soon.

i'll kick myself for not being able to find where i read it, but I believe the xapo card's being altered in future to be used in atms too.. like sooner rather than later. if its true then it's bye bye anxpro and the rest, no competition anymore. well not that anxpro's competition anyway really, lolworthy fees to be frank.

No body mention plain water, it is the healthiest..

Plain water is not an energy drink.

Personally, I prefer the "AMP" line of energy drinks.  Smiley

haha.. though tea is. the germans developed a cold energy drink from it called Club-Mate which successfully (i think) solves the pain in the arse question of energy drinks tasting like shite. can get it in the us can and mexico on mail order, it blew my mind but then i lived in europe before. check it out, has like 100 cals a bottle too and hardly any sugar, just sweet sweet sustained caffeine highs. makes any office job instantly doable

Re: Which altcoins will match Bitcoin in price (1:1) in a few years?
by
YesBoss69
on 21/07/2014, 13:17:35 UTC
Bitcoin does have some stable backings. Most of the merchants only accept Bitcoins but not alt coins. Alt coin's price are too unstable, they can crash any moment. I believe most people understand Bitcoin better than any other alt coin.

I think that understanding can change pretty quick, though. Just takes a few implementations and people will accommodate something new.. and of course since most people don't and will never have much idea about how digital currencies actually work, it shouldn't really matter. But really, in all likelihood something will get more momentum in the next few years, very possibly sth which doesn't exist as yet but which uses existing tech. I guess cryptonote coins why not, but scrypt could still get a look-in, nothing wrong with a spot of doge in my book (still).
