Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin'

Ehmm.. any info about the smalltime miner maxcoin pool?

No idea. Pools seem to be accessible at 162.243.123.200. I wish I could connect to max.smalltimeminer.com with this ip, but I don't know how to do it.

edit your hosts file (google it where to find this file on your computer)
and add the line
Code:
162.243.123.200 max.smalltimeminer.com

this overrules DNS and always points max.smalltimeminer.com to 162.243.123.200 from your pc.
but dont forget to delete this line after they fixed their issue, or you might get problems accessing max.smalltimeminer.com in the future!

this will not fix their web server... if it's not accessible by the ip, it will not be by the name, this way.

Smalltimeminers was the 2nd largest pool so a lot of you must have mined there.  Is it pretty much concluded they have ran off with our coins?  Anyone know them personally and want to help nudge them to put the site back up so we can at least withdraw our coins.  Something needs to be done about these scam pools, they are stealing not just coins, but coins that result in real money.

Here is the email if anyone else needs it:

Bigal (smalltimeminer@gmail.com)

I've emailed them and no reply back.  In the past they were quite fast responding.

Always research about the history of a pool you are putting your precious time and electricity on.

Just a fyi, Netcodepool is mining since late 2012. 75,000 LTC and 1,300,000,000 DOGE have been mined here plus holding a record for not loosing a user's single coin.

Ya thanks, I'll never join a new pool without a history ever again.  I saw another new pool just pop up in this thread, I wouldn't be surprised if smalltimeminers just started another one under a different name.  You would think though being the 2nd largest pool it would have been ok.  If they were legit they would have responded to this thread by now also.  I wonder what those big miners do when this happens to them.  Luckily I didn't have much pointed to them, but still.

Anyone heard from smalltimeminers?  I haven't checked too far back but have not seen a post updating us of the situation with their server.

Crap I'm so confused..  2.8 mhs .. 2800mhs

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GPU-Scrypt-Mining-Rig-2-8MH-s-for-Litecoin-Bitcoin-Cryptocurrency-Scrypt-Mining-/251444869987?pt=AU_comp_dekstop&hash=item3a8b483b63

2.8mhs seems extremely low.. why is this so expensive, Im so confused

ok that makes more sense now!  Let's say you start off at around 300mh/s for each card since tweaking will take you a bit.  Rough estimate around 25-30 max.  I didn't use that calculating site as I'm always paranoid it is some sort of phising site, not saying it is, just playing it safe.

Can anybody give me an idea of how many Maxcoin I can get per day mining on a GPU @ 2.8MH/s ? Super new at mining here, ty

Probably .5 max at best per day.  I think the previous poster misread your 2.8MH.

blame the pool owner who ran it before start time.  He knew exactly what he was doing.  That decision of his ruined it for all of us.

is this another failed launch like Maxcoin?

I'm trying to compile the source code now in windows and its a bitch.. not much documentation at all and the makefile.cygwin isn't working out of the box under windows 7 64-bit with cygwin 64 installed...

I'm going to have a bit more of a play around.. but seriously how hard is it to test your product and provide some simple instructions and a list of the deps required Huh?

is this really too much to ask from a "FAIR" launch?

Most of these alt clones are not done by true developers.  One could use the coingen and then simply label themselves as a dev with no experience.

This is a new kind of low to take out all the miners so whales can gobble it up.  I think it has to do with that new alt coin list that was just put up :/  Or wait, could it be the disgruntled ex dev?

Come join our Coino pool, already at 10MH/s and we just launched it!

https://con.hash.so/

* 1% default donation, can be removed but please don't Smiley
* Super fast servers
* vardiff
* Default MPOS layout, the one you know well (efficient!), Internals have been optimized to make it faster!
* stratum on port 80 and 443, which helps if you are behind a firewall
* One click coin switcher, mine all of our (21) coins with ease!
* PPLNS
* Very nice admins, come say hi in IRC #hash.so @ freenode

I just switched to this pool and it's fantastic! Love the dropdown to switch coins as well.

Hash.so rips off dedicatedpool! BOYCOTT hash.so and use dedicatedpool, which is the ORIGINAL pool with tons of features, great speed, reliability, all backed by a guy that NEVER sleeps!

Tried dedicated, mined for about 5 minutes, disconnected, couldn't reconnect for a bit so had to switch to another pool Sad

 CoinMe has 50% of the hashing...of course us with smaller pools have a hard time finding blocks...

Net hashrate 4.2 ghs coinme 2.1 ghs Sad

This is why we need people to go to smaller pools also. My pool has :

0% fee PPLNS
1k bonus to block finders untill block 60 found by our pool

This is one of the major issues, we just have a much smaller hashrate in comparison now.

That is the same line you told us when we went without a block for 4 hours after launch.  Smaller pools with half the hash and members are finding blocks.  Going on 7 hours now without a block.  A block hasn't been found since you fixed the payment issue and did an upgrade, coincidence?

Just found a block

Time Since Last Block    16 minutes 57 seconds

And never had any problems with payments and never did any freaking upgrade...please stop confusing pools... I never ever had problems with payouts. They are made every 20 minutes. PLUS I didn't open the pool untill a few hours after launch. So It's normal you didn't mine anything at my pool 4 hours after launch...rdd.hashbros,org was not yet open!

The most we have been without blocks was 3h and a half!

That was not directed at you, Hashbros Smiley  I'm pretty sure I have no confusion on which pool I am talking about, I was referring to Scrototeabaggins and Oakpools.  You must have just skimmed over my posts.  No worries I have moved on, good luck to Oakpools.

Ya I'm just really irked I trusted them to go back again.  Then when I did go back they had a payout issue.  Then they "Just released a new update to enhance turnaround times for payouts!".  Since then not a single block has been found for over 5 hours now.  They had plenty of hashing power at that time but it has slowly been bleeding out now, down to half the amount since then.  I just don't believe for a second a pool has that bad of luck.
