KR8OS is an interesting one to keep an eye out for. Marketing Analytics with Blockchain. Looks like their team has been in the industry a long time, so I'm a little more confident in their future than most. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2322677.0

Their presale is coming up with a pretty large discount and they just announced their bounty program too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2368909

Read through a few of their links, and it looks like they just recently filed a patent for their tech. They just announced that they're working with iABTechLabs on the Blockchain too.

I think they're pretty credible in the industry.

I see your tech is patent-pending.

Congrats, that's a really big step to legitimizing this solution.

Anything that has value has the opportunity to lose value. So definitely, just depends on how much of a drop you're looking for and how long you're willing to wait.

Jealousy, greed, envy -- a lot of the 7 sins can be applied here. If Bitcoins were edible, I'm sure gluttony would be on there too.

Without a doubt. Cryptocurrency is pretty much their competition, only it isn't restricted or controlled by the government, transaction fees are minimal relative to banks, and all transactions are public albeit anonymous. I'd say it's the worst nightmare.

Definitely not in the near future. Not all of Bitcoin has even been released into circulation yet, so anything can happen.

Re: Bitcoin is an asset or currency.

I hear from many sources that btc is used for trading much more than it is for goods and services; doesn't that make it an asset ??
and is that necessarily a bad thing ?? and what can we do about it as a community ??

It's simply both.

Bitcoin is attractive as an asset to hold because of it's scarce nature. Bitcoin is also attractive as a currency because it's borderless, permissionless, and pretty fast and cheap (except when Roger Ver/Bitmain are spamming it).

So for some use cases like buying a VPN, bitcoin is the best currency.

I agree that it's most likely both.

An asset is something consider to have some substantial value, while a currency is a medium of exchange for goods and services.
I think it falls into both categories.

Bitcoin is definitely not gambling by any means. Investing in Bitcoin might be closer to gambling because you're taking a risk by putting in something of value into getting it, and hoping to gain more in return. But the currency itself? Definitely not.

I don't know about NEVER trusting your banks.....I wouldn't put all my life savings in them (maybe some), but some banks are really good about taking responsibility for fraud issues and such. Plus, I like the cashbacks I get back through my credit cards.

Hm....I don't think there's a currency out there being dealt into illegal activities. Anything worth a great deal of value is likely to fall into that category.

Re: Why not just print dollars?
by

Printing more of a currency causes inflation, or basically the more of a currency, the less valuable it becomes. Think of diamonds -- if there was only 1 diamond in the world, it would probably be worth more than anything else in the world. But now if there were enough diamonds in the world for every person on earth and their ancestor and their descendants, probably not going to be worth as much.

At the point where all the Bitcoins are released into the market, I'm willing to bet "Satoshi Nakamoto" will be the largest Bitcoin wallet holder.

That is essentially having 50 different countries, each with their own currency, engage in the same market. Probably not the best way to go about unifying the world under one currency.

Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon?
by
Zero.X
on 24/10/2017, 20:41:30 UTC
Highly unlikely for the dollar to be taken over any time soon. Bitcoin is also very limited and very hard for the general public to acquire, so it's not really possible for it to be as widely used and accepted as a dollar.

Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin?
by

on 24/10/2017, 20:26:04 UTC
I don't think it's really necessary to teach kids about Bitcoin. If they have a genuine interest in it, you should probably team them about basic economics first, then stocks and bonds, then investment trading, and finally Bitcoin.
