Andreas Antonopoulos, one really interesting person to listen what he thinks about Bitcoin and the whole Cryptocurrency Network.

I suggest everyone who doesn't know him to watch some videos about him.

Here is a Q&A about governments banning cryptocurrencies.

I understand, i just called the power company, they will hook my whole Breaker and Electricity up for free, because i have the "biggest" supply need on their Industrial lines and they don't want to piss me off because something does not work as should. so 1 problem less. Once i get the Miners and the Farm ready i will be posting everything here to keep you guys updated.

Thank you all for your advices

can i split my total amps on multiple main lines?

for example my Electricity Supplier can wire me multiple main lines to my warehouse.

i could get 3-4 main lines. does this benefit me or not?

yeah but the price difference is also 2:1...the ROI on the Whatsminer is 75-80 Days the ROI on S9 - A8 is over 125 Days.

I learned from doing investments the faster you get your ROI the more you "win".

also Bitmain and Canaan in my opinion are like going into a Ferrari Dealership. They don't want to make business they want to stick to their "LONG" Customers..

I mailed both for Bulk purchases Bitmain didn't even consider to answer and Canaan just told me they are sorry we don't have at the moment Miners for sale.

I didn't even purchases 1 Whatsminer and for me they are the Winner in terms of Customer Service. They are talking DAY AND NIGHT to me.

If i get the Electricity deal i am considering to go to China and talk face to face. They told me they don't have a problem to show me their Product and Discuss everything.

I went many times to China because we are dealing also with Mobile phone accessories and Construction Materials in Lebanon and this is typical for me to talk directly to them.

One last question: I am not a Electrical Engineer but is my math right. If i get 100 Miners and each need for example  4-5 amps and 2kw do i need a 400-500amp Main Breaker?

As i said we are located in Lebanon, we are at the moment in contact with a Private owned Power Plant to make a deal for 0,05 Cent per Kwh for 24/24 supply.

Also we are talking with "Whatsminer" about their M3 Miner with 11-12,5 Th/s.

I am considering to sell from the Bulk order maybe 50% to get my Investment back and farm with the other 50% of the Miners.

What do you guys think?

thanks for the reply,

well first a hydro plant is not possible due to no river or floating water nearby. a generator consumes aprox 8-10k USD of Diesel at this Power. solar system i heard of something from 1000$ per kw for hardware and installation i dont have at the moment the place to host something like this. I got 12 hours free electricity at my place but need to cover the other 12 hours by myself. i think there is no other way then a big Diesel generator providing the electricity needed.

200 KwH Power Solution?
by

on 11/01/2018, 18:57:44 UTC
I need a advice on how to power 100 Miners with a second energy source.

small info: i live in a place where you are limited to 12 Hours electricity by the Goverment, the other 12 hours i have to get a) a Private generator Company to host me (very expensive) b) get a standalone Generator and run it by myself (200kwh generator fuel consumption is about 60 liter per Hour at 0,58$ about 35$ a Hour or 350$+ a day)

I looked for Solar Panel Systems and so on but the Installation + ROI is to much.

Do you have any other solution?

Thanks in advance for replys

Jeder weiß was da abgeht und keiner "kann" was machen.

Well after talking to Canaan (Avalon Miner) for 2 weeks, they told me the new 821 Miners will be shipped for the first batch end of Januar 2018 and the second batch for Mid February. They said to me after also checking by UPS it will take 3-4 Days to Deliver via Airfreight. Cost for Shipping to my Country is 950$ exclude Custom Fees. 11 th/s x 60 = 660 Th/s my Electricity is "for free" (thats another story) so i should be ROI in 2-3 Months, 841 series will be Q2 2018 so plenty of time to get ROI. People still say after 3 Years "bitcoin bubble" "dont get scammed" its the Federal Reserver Bank that Propaganda this in the TV and Mainstream Media so YOU will keep going and take the Dirty Money and be a Slave of the Elite People of the World aka JP Morgan, Rockefeller and Rothschild...sry not working for me.

To be honest i don't care if it would be 10% up or down. If you calculate the amount of Investment it would need to generate the same profit in another Business this is kinda to easy!

Two different chains, with two different amounts of miners on each chain, hence two different diffs.
Is it then not more profitable to mine only Bitcoin Cash?

Wer will dir bzw jemanden nachweißen ob er mind. 6 monate NICHT in Deutschland lebt.

Re: Setting up Network when Mining with 20+ Devices

I understand, i will have a Friend helping me with Connecting everything he studied Network and System Administration, i could also connect my Network to a Local VPN which is at the same moment a ISP, they are forced from the Goverment to have High Security and Data Encryption about their Users and Data flow.

One other point, i can get a 4G+ Router with 100GB Data Volume for 80$ a Month or a simple 4MB unlimited Cable connection. Do the miners need fast internet or do they have a high data consumption?

You need...

1.  24 Port SWITCH (don't buy a hub) from eBay for less than $50.  Any base 100 is more than enough.  Gigabit is stupid unless you plan on using this switch/connection for video streaming/file transfers.  I am partial to netgear prosafe gear.  Like this...  this is the bottom of the barrel.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NETGEAR-JFS524-24-PORT-10-100-MBPS-FAST-ETHERNET-SWITCH-RACK-MOUNT/272985695841?hash=item3f8f372661:g:RzgAAOSwfVhaNYz8

2. Buy pre made cables unless you have made your own prior.  Avoid the headaches and rookie mistakes if you don't have the tools and testers/know how.

3. Use any router your comfortable with that IS STABLE!  Personally I would buy a ddwrt/openwrt compatible unit, dump the oem junk firmware and put an open source setup on it...but this is a bit advanced.  Main point here is stability due to a single point failure taking down the setup.  You invested some serious coin in miners, the network must be robust to avoid issues.  I would either buy a new residential grade unit or a good used business unit.  I would steer clear of used cheap residential units from ebay.

4.  Set router to DHCP (automatic address), set router IP to 192.168.0.1.  Set DHCP range to 192.168.0.101-192.168.0.150 (or whatever max you wish).  Number miner 1 as 192.168.0.101 (so you know ip 101 = miner 1, 102 = 2 and so on.  I prefer to use the highest ip for the pc, then smash the ip range down so no spares are left.

5. Set all miner ip's manually prior to connecting via a laptop/desktop or only plugging one in at a time after step 6 (you can do it after all plugged in but not sure if miner default ip is inside the router's range, prior to plugging in is foolproof but tedious)

6.  Plug it all in to your internet modem or whatever, turn on router & switch... and behold the magic

This is BS...
Most routers will except whatever manual IP address you assign to each miner  WRONG! If miner ip is outside router range...not possible.  All residential routers default to the smallest subnet mask, requiring the first 3 sections of the ip address to be exact.  If you plug in a virgin, default miner that is outside the range your screwed.  If you don't know the miner default address it is more work.  If all miners are virgin, default plug only one in at a time as all default to the same address.  20 virgins being turned on at the same time will result in ip collisions and failure or a really good time if your mind is in the gutter.

This works but will be no fun...
you can enable each miner to use DHCP then inside the router assign the static IP address based on the miner's MAC address. Either way will allow you to know exactly what IP address is going to what machine.  Routers using DHCP can make address reservations, not assign static addresses to hardware.  This method is not foolproof, requires all miner MAC to be documented/figured out after the fact, and is not permenant.  Imagine a pile of spaghetti and seperating it out to individual strands.  If the router firmware updates, the DHCP table is corrupted, etc... your setup is toast.  FYI... some routers do auto updates and wipe these settings without end users knowledge... and you be like WTF happened?

Closing thoughts...
Dedicated hardware requires dedicated power and network IP's to effectively manage it.  Set static IP's if you want to keep it straight.  Use DHCP if you don't care.  Both work but one is easier to service.  Make an excel document or download an ip template from the web to keep track of it.  Goto a hardware store and get labels/#'s for your cables... life is much easier when this is done.  Also properly color coded wires is a plus...yes there are codes, follow them.  I know without a shadow of a doubt where every cable goes (due to #) and purpose (due to color) in my setup by looking at only the switch.

If you are USA based and want field service I charge fair rates and can send my T&C's across.  Any pro should be able to take 20 miners from cardboard boxes to the network setup in less than 3 hours providing your power, cables, etc... are all done, long enough and ready.  If you had your pool, credentials, etc.. ready they would be ready for individual baseline testing in no time.

If you have questions I give 3 for free, PM me.

amazing work, thank you very much.
