I also think so. The owner of the website can spend them directly. Or they can just donate to others. Why it uses this way, it is suspicious.
It's more like a random address found online, i checked the second address in that page and there's no balance on it based on block explorers yet on the site's screen shows it still has balance.

Only greedy newbies will likely to fall on this cheap scam attempt. Btw where did you found this site?
Occasionally. But I haven't sent any BTC to it.

It's obviously just an attempt to scam people. If you have access to private keys for a wallet, why would you sell the funds x10 cheaper, when you can just use an exchange and get the best rates possible? Stay away from this site.

At website https://allprivatekeys.net/bitcoin-private-keys/addresses.php , you can see many addresses the web claims their privkeys has leaked. You can buy it at 1/10 balance it has. But is it just a fraud , once you send BTC to it , it just goes to the scammer and nothing will you get.

Re: Hashrate increases.

At mempool.space , we can find that these days, the network hashrate increased, the next difficulty is predicted to increase about 10%. After halving, what is the motivation to let more and more power to come into mining BTC?

The motivation? To make money.
More efficient gear will get you more hashrate for the same power costs while also driving up the difficulty.
That is how the system works.

Some miners with older gear that is less efficient or miners with more expensive power will drop off. Will others take their place is the question. And that will not be known for a while.

Also, there are people with deep pockets who are speculating. Loosing some money today thinking that BTC will 2x in price will also keep people mining or bing in new miners.

-Dave

I think instead of spending more electricity fee than the mined BTC value, why not buy BTC directly.

In my opinion, the best solution for this problem is to work in a solo-pool such as btcpuzzle.info and play it as a lottory. Because you are working for yourself so such attack methods is meaningless. Smiley

For example:
If you get the range 20000000000000000-2000000ffffffffff and the address generated by the pool is 12RBvs1P9D2oD8Bk3MtfYCJ71KmDiLHLZq(privkey:200000096a7342abc). You can submit the work immediately once you reach the privkey of it and not scan the keys after that. Then get another job.

Do you mean this announcement from Telegram  ttdsales  #66

----
I have been doing a deep dive into the range submissions from the user kafeitianshi.  He ran very hard for a couple of months but I have never been in communication with him.  There was a vulnerability in the system that would allow a user to kill either vanitysearch or clbitcrack right after the PoW key was found then the client would submit for credit,  restart, and continue.  It seems this is how all of  kafeitianshi work was submitted.  I was able to determine this by looking at the times between when a range was requested and when it was submitted.  Under normal operation this would conform to standard deviation.  In this users case the time taken between ranges was just as random as the location of the PoW keys in the respective ranges.

This vulnerability has been eradicated in the newer clients.

So the bad news is that I need to mark the 227,357 ranges as unchecked and we take a 0.67% step backwards in overall completion.

The good news is that the ranges scanned on the pool are more accurate then ever.

I will continue to investigate range submissions for any other anomalies.

Even though you update the client, the problem can't be solved thoroughly due to the vulnerable mechanism. But there are some methods to detect fake submission such as looking at the times between when a range was requested and when it was submitted. If it is relevant to the random key position it is probably fake submission. Also you can add more random keys for proof. But maybe the attacker may grasp the package and if the solution is found, he or she may broadcast the transaction and send the reward to his or her address.

The BTC puzzle is to find the privkey in a certain range for an address. And I found that some people solve this problem just like mining BTC. Such as the pool ttdsales/66bit/login.php. I found that the pool probably generate a random address and you should submit something relevant to the privkey of the address as a proof of work. And the pool client is not open-source. I think maybe someone cracked the software and submit the answer once the privkey of the random address is found. So if the solution is found, the hacker may gain more reward than usual. And it may cause the pool can't find the solution.

Only the puzzle creator knows the private key #66 and can do this, but I don't think he would be so boring to do it
 Grin Grin
You don't need to know the answer. You will get a range which contains 2^40 keys, which contains a address generated by the pool, and probably not contains the answer of the puzzle. I means the pool will pay the reward to each one by the ranges count they scanned. If you submit your work once the privkey of the address generated by the pool is found and don't scan the keys behind, you may get more reward.

Re: Should there be a way to register your wallet with the government?

I think if we do so, we must make a big change to bitcoin network.
First, the native BTC network isn't cooperating with governments. How to let the wallet register authority be cotrolled by governments?
Then there are many countries, which government should be responsible for it?

Hard fork to disable inscription.
by

Could we make a hard fork to disable new inscription to reduce the network pressure. Then both inscriptoin supporter and objector can work on each chain. That may seeperate bitcoin value to two chain, and probably, one chain can gain more value,we can call the coin on this chain BTC, the other chain must called another name. Even though, the inscriptions inscribed before fork seem valid after fork.

Re: Congratulations. The epic sat of block 840000 has been inscribed.

I found the network become congested because many users are minting EPIC which started with the epic sat inscribed. Regardless of whether you love BRC20 or not, it just exists and has a large market capacity.
Yeah, it exists but that's only a sad fact. Ordinals, runes, epic sats, these things don't exist, they are made up things to make money out of thin air. Giving value to all of these is like giving value to grass where Messi fell down with his face. It's like giving value to socks and pants that Messi wears because it's Messi. This is not normal.

Though the inscription system gains a large market today, I haven't participant in the activity yet. I think it is just a waste of BTC blockchain space. Such activities like NFT have better alternative platforms  Smiley such as Ethereum, not on BTC blockchain Cry.
You are right, this is just a waste of bitcoin blockchain but like you said previously, it's true that BRC20 exists and has a huge market. I intentionally ignore it because I believe it's scam, I don't find anything valuable in it and I think its created for money laundering and for scamming people, that's why I don't join and will never join BRC20 market.
I think the biggest supporter of these are bitcoin miners. They like network congestion, because they can get more reward from transaction fees.

We can see the transaction at https://mempool.space/zh/address/bc1p5k6m3rsnr98mwd7qzsw9qyz0awxffms30axtlpeygkx3hchuusasz5ceuy. Now the NFT is in the second output of the tx. The NFT seems like a video. But I don't know how can store a video in just about 50KB space. Who can tell me is it really a video?

Re: Network jam.
by
a8832021
on 15/04/2024, 13:50:37 UTC
The network isn't jammed, technically it's a congestion which increases the feerate that you're seeing. Transactions are still being confirmed at the average time expected.

Whatever the use of ordinals, I do not believe it's worth the fees people are willing to pay for it and the ripple effect it has on other holders is very high. They have to use competitive fees if they want their transaction confirmed in priority time, or try accelerators.
Now I find these transactions are not similar to the inscription transactions. Each contains an OP_RETURN and don't contain inscription input script.Such as tx 2fba544577b42e90fdae8379cf821314a73986ad6d7183c80ffdf2ce5be27e6f.
