Re: Ripple Dethroned Ethereum

Ripples ascent happened so quickly I was not expecting to see it with the #2 position.  I sat in shock when I saw it.  Is the "banker" coin going to reign supreme in 2019 and go after Bitcoin.  Bankers rule the world.  It would not be surprising to see it be the #1 coin.  If Bitcoin is not the bankers invention then I do believe Ripple may win.

Re: To hell with regulations and government interference
by

Governments are trying to make people believe Bitcoin is indeed a threat to the global economy, causing the entire market to fall sharply. As it recovers, governments begin to think of how to control it with rules and interventions to put pressure on it.

It's our job to make sure they do not take over when they realize they cannot scare us away form it.  It does not seem like we are rady to fight this battle however.  We have people chomping at the bit to get airdrops by sending in their passports.  Our own greed will be our downfall.  The powers that be know this.  If we stood firm and fought these bankers and governments we could have free money.  I'm not seeing it right now.

I love it.  I wonder if as the countries surrounding China continue to grow with their use if it will put pressure on the Chinese government to allow it's people in on Crypto.  I think we need much more adoption to really put the screw to the non conformers however each day we get closer and closer to that goal.

Re: During these hard times, it's time for self improvement

When there is a bull-market everyone jumps on the bitcoin train, we get a ton of newbies and most of them are greedy bastards just wanting to make a quick buck off-of us.

Now that the market is down, most of these people have left us. This gives us time and quiet to improve on our skills and understanding of bitcoin.

Now that the dead weight is off we can re-evaluate our objectives with bitcoin and come back sharper on the other end of it.

We don't need everyone talking about bitcoin, we don't need people who are here to make profit without working. What we need is scaling solutions. We need more active peers on the network.

We need people selling food, electronics, land and everything else. We need people who buy those things and sell products for bitcoin.

We need restaurants and fishermen and farmers.

We need movers and shakers.

We don't need more speculators. We have enough of those.

I'm have begun making a few purchases via Bitcoin and Ethereum.  Most of the opportunities I have to use crypto revolves around storage and server services.  I have had nothing but luck requesting a crypto option and getting it when purchasing technology services.  Unfortunately I live in northern Canada and there are more bear than people around me.  I don't even want to know what would happen if I went down to the local tavern and tried to use Bitcoin.

I'm also going to scale back my bounties.  I have been using a quantity approach but i'm seeing the game evolve to a quality oriented system which in the need is much more beneficial and much less work.  It seems like the bounty hunters are creating a disaster in this forum so I'm going to cut back.

I do own a farm (apple orchard and raspberries).  Once again I am in the wrong part of the country however maybe I will create a sign and give a discount for crypto use however I doubt I will get many hits.  i get lots of mothers and kids doing pick your own berries.  It would be amazing to transact with my fellow countrymen without using central banker scum notes.

Any chance Bitcoin is a government creation made to tax transactions?  I worry we may be unknowingly ushering in a tax system for the elite but it may just be paranoid thinking.

Reminds me of the movie Dodgeball where the main character did not show up to the game and was disqualified.  The announcer said that it was a risky play and he was excited to see if it works.  Probably not funny here but if you have seen the movie you would understand.

You would think this user would have at least made a newbie account to pull off this stunt.  This man went completely hardcore with his nuts hanging out.  You gotta admire his style.

Yes as we move closer to the typical time of the year when the bull runs free I get the feeling we are bottoming out and getting ready for the pop.  It just feels like if we were going to go way lower say down to 5k flat we would have already done it earlier in the year.  I think we are in the safe zone now.

dear all

now three months gone , but still the market correction going. Most of the days are red. Most coins are 50-90% depreciated.  what do you think about these?

is this a bubble or is this ending coming?  or  normal

No way.  They are about to come back in a big way.  I would highly suggest not selling now.  You waited this long and the market is showing signs of life.  I'm holding on for the big ride later this year.  The fact Bitcoin can be gained with Altcoins will keep them around for a while.

I think Bitcointalk is being effected by the crashing market.  Watch what happens when the market comes back and people get excited again.  Bitcointalk will do its own mooning.  This is still the #1 spot as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Is the crypto market really for anyone?
by

on 16/09/2018, 23:29:31 UTC
I think this market is not for everyone and that is why I do not usually recommend my friends or family to invest in cryptos, as it is well known that most people have a great aversion to risk and that is why traditional investment instruments still receive large amounts of money despite their stingy returns. And because of this usual risk rejection many newbies use to cry so much as soon as they suffer some loss in this market, because they never assume the great risk that crypto investments involve and believe that getting rich overnight is a simple and easy task.

Right now I would say the crypto market is not for most people.  The elderly seem to be having massive issues with it.  At least form what I'm seeing.  many regular folk around the world would prefer to be able to hold their assets vs have them in digital land especially withthe way the governments have been acting the last few hundred years.  I think people are finally getting feed up.  this may help or hurt crypto.  Not sure which.

do whales buy and sell with themselves in coordination to manipulate prices? how does it work?

Of course whales are playing manipulation games.  The key to this game is to know they must take the market down low and then back up to make money.  With this knowledge you need to attempt to front run them and make your nickel before getting your head chopped off.

Re: Different speculations concerning bitcoin price in next few years

What will be the the cost of 1btc and 1 ETH in next few years and did you think bitcoin can touch $50,000 in next couple of years and what is your expectations on ETH when bitcoin touch $50000

I believe the rise will be epic when we get out of this manipulated bear market.  I believe this is 100% manipulation so I also believe the manipulators want to make big money and that will require big prices.  Just need to dump before they do.  $50k should be easy breezy.

I believe NEO is already strong. It's just a horrible market. Got luck and caught it in that dip to the 14's.  When NEO spikes it spikes hard.  We were at 18 almost instantly.  I didn't sell yet though.  Holding for new highs and collecting gas while I wait.

Re: Will Monero become next BTC?
by
abbywem
on 15/09/2018, 20:23:35 UTC
Currently, Monero is the 10th largest coin by market capitalization. Crypto miners are attracted to Monero because it has emerged as the most profitable altcoin in the past few months.

A research firm Satis Group, which forecasts the cryptocurrency market and the fate of individual cryptocurrencies, published a reporting stating that Monero could be worth $18,000 within the next five years. That represents a more than an 18,000% increase from its present value, which stands at just over $106.

From"Monero's price: all you need to know"

How do you think about XMP? Another BTC?

I believe Monero will be the #1 coin eventually.  The government will overstep its bountries and people will want privacy and move to Monero.  The real question is this a plan by the government to move us to Monero.  That's what keeps me up at night.

I have been using Peculium (PCL) for some of my trades and it is helping me out tremendously.  I use PCL (short term market indicator - 15 min) along with bollinger bands and volume and have been trading off these indicators this year.  Most successful year yet.  I believe in some of the AI products out there.  Cindicator is another one I have used and like.

Re: Bounties and Scam!!
by

on 12/09/2018, 04:17:32 UTC
There are many ICO which doesn't pay it's bounty participants after the sales or pay less what they promised in the begining of the ICO. I would like to find out how many such ICO's are there in the market who scammed the bounty participants. Would like to ask the community to list such ICOs here in this thread!!

I got scammed by CASHBAG(CBC) Bounty Program- After submitting our documents for KYC, admin vanished with our personal info(Admin Name:
Jonathan Miller).

I know this is for the the scam list but please guys stop sending in your personal documents.  You are putting yourself and your family at risk.  Your documents are being sold on the the dark web and can be used for criminal acts and terrorism.  Identity theft is running rampant.  With all the scammers in here use some personal security techniques and keep your private data private.  No legit project will ask its investors to do this.

Re: Which is more important for us, more investment (ETF) or more adoption?
by

on 11/09/2018, 20:50:00 UTC
Adoption is the key.  The ETF actually will hurt us in the long run as it will hand the keys over to the bankers (see precious metals).  With mass adoption they will begin to lose their control.  In this early and frail state for crypto's these whales can cause much havoc as we are now seeing.

Re: Do you think mining is still fair
by

on 11/09/2018, 20:48:06 UTC
In Q3 2018 market is still a blood bath. A lot of people that involved in crypto losing theirs hopes on a quick moon. ICO market is down. But difficulty of mining is growing up. We need more powerful processors, GPU and so on. Mining was created to give ordinary people get some free coins. Another hand big companies joint into monster to dig more digital gold. Simple person is out of this business. To support a node of ethereum you need more space every month and you get no reward. Do you think its fair enough or we need some new architecture to give mining a new life?

Mining has turned into a rich mans game.  I have free electric (solar) and have plenty left over and financially it still doesn't make sense.  I'm not really sure how to not have power consolidete like this.  It seems to be a force of nature.  The best we can do is attempt to work within it and get ahead anyway we can.

I was very disappointed to learn mining wasn't an option even with free power.

I feel like this market has crashed about as far as it's going to go.  I believe that the September 30th ETF decision will be a positive decision and cause a huge spike (completely manipulated of course).  The manipulators will eventually need high prices to fleece the sheep with.  Easy play.  Timing this bottom though is the hard part.

Monero is my favorite coin.  I believe as the governments, bankers and large corporations move into this game the need for privacy coins will rise more and more.  I believe Monero is the go to coin.  I'm waiting for the powers that be to start cracking down on them.  I plan on buying when the prices crash as everyone panics.

FOMO (fear of missing out) AKA Greed and Panic Selling (fear) are two human emotions that over take us when we deal with something that has great importance to us.  The manipulators know how to make you have an emotional response to a market condition and they profit off your predictability.
