Who cares about India anyway? We survived the exchange ban in China, and IMO any negative government action in India doesn't even come close. I am more concerned about other countries such as Japan, Russia, South Korea, United States and the European Union.
India have huge population and hi tech where people are more aware then other middle east countries. If they ban bit coin that can impact hard on BTC where as if they allow as legal tender than I think BTC will have support from one more country.

Re: A big problem in bitcoin ???
by
abdulq
on 09/02/2018, 20:53:31 UTC
I believe that bitcoin has many problems as well as benefits. For example, when the price rises, you can see people selling their bitcoins to gain profits. Therefore, the transaction fees also rise, not to mention that you can wait 2 weeks or one to get a confirmed transactions.

It is quite troublesome for me to pay high fees when I do not need much money. Another problem is its stability. As a matter of fact, bitcoin has never been stable. It always increases and decreases and you cannot predict its next movement. It is playing monopoly with us.
The big problem about bitcoin is due to PEOPLE are not being contented all the time, when the price had just reduce to 1% a lot of people already screaming and asking what is the reason, then reduced by 10% they are crying and more than 10% they are so sick and mad as if this is the end of the world without even analyzing first what is happening.

There is no problem in bitcoin, it is just US who are making trouble from it.
Absolutely correct. When market is going up no one ask what is the reason and whatever they are getting they are happy with that but we should bear in mind that thing which is going up so fast can fall down even so fast So cheers!

Re: South Korea & China's Central Bank
by

The South Korean Minister of Strategy and Finance has met with the governor of the People’s Bank of China to discuss and share economic policies including cryptocurrency countermeasures. While China has imposed strict regulations on cryptocurrency trading, including closing down domestic crypto exchanges, South Korea has adopted a less strict approach with successively releasing countermeasures for cryptocurrencies. However, closing down crypto exchanges has been avoided so far. At the National Assembly Planning and Finance Committee meeting on Wednesday, Kim pointed out that there may be a problem of underground transactions and foreign currency leakage if exchanges are closed. Cryptocurrency exchanges are not financial entities in Korea; they fall under the e-commerce law. In contrast, Kim noted that, in Japan, they are managed by registration with the country’s financial authority. South Korea re-iterated that Cryptocurrency exchanges are not financial entities in Korea; they fall under the e-commerce law. In contrast, Kim noted that, in Japan, they are managed by registration with the country’s financial authority.

Yes, but already south Korea has issued some tax payment for the exchange after they discussed about it in their Parliament. I don't think so they will never Chian central bank because already China is not showing any interest towards cryptocurrency trading.
Yes south korea is now charging taxes on transaction being done at exchanges based in their countries. Bithub charged tax by Govt on its last year earning.

I do plan on selling it when it reaches certain price and buy again when it dips, but no plan on cashing out.I think I need to really understand this bullshit tax rules before tax season comes.

FYI, as as soon as you sell, even if you rebuy later, it is a taxable event.
Untill you cashout you do not have to pay tax on your earning. That is so simple.

In India, Bitcoin is not a legal tender. But it is not explicitly termed as illegal. What is the reason for such a stand by Government? what are its implications?
Yeah bitcoin is not a legal tender in India but it is still not officially banned in India either. The reason why it could be at stand by could be that they want to warn people who are trying to do scams or are trying to do money laundering . I think they Would not ban bitcoin but they would imply some restrictions which could eliminate the chances of fraud and money laundering.
I think bitcoin is not legal tender for india but new tender for india, they are working on it and I hope they will come up with solution of legality of bitcoin.

Re: Should we pay taxes on Bitcoin?
by
abdulq
on 09/02/2018, 20:23:20 UTC
Paying tax on bitcoin transactions would mean legitimizing that transaction as the government will directly be involved. I know many people here want the various governments of the world to legitimize bitcoin, so they will gladly want to be taxed and enslaved by the same system Satoshi wanted to do away with. Bitcoin is decentralized and should be allowed so. There are other avenues from which the governments can get their taxes/revenue from the people.
I think if Taxes are imposed in any one's country for getting profit from crypto than he should pay taxes to govt because by doing he will abide by law and his money will not be freezed by govt.

Re: What If Govt makes BTC legal in India?
by
abdulq
on 09/02/2018, 20:21:31 UTC
If Indian government doing this imean they legalized BTC then its gonna be a great step for India to moving forward.
India is a great market for cypto trading, I think if India goes for adopting bitcoin that will be beneficial for them as they can find it as a new source of revenue collection.
