1. Only positive, helpful, technical posts.
(Everytime you post negativity you devalue cinni)
2. Cinnicoin dev leaves/hands full control and access over to codecaffiene or likeminded dev. Personally i thought his action plan was fantastic.
3. Cinnicoin dev leaves....hmm sorry, broke rule 1 Smiley  but seriously, this must happen immediately.
4. Fix staking issue.
5. Have our new brilliant dev use the encrypted msg system to complete encrypted $ transfers. IF this actually works, WOW! take that dark coin.

If 1-5 are achieved cinni is relevant and part of crypto fabric forever!!! Yay!!!

6. Finish the wallet as per original goal - to be the most useful and free point of sale tool for merchants accepting btc (with cinni included)

Cmon team...no cmon family! That's what is ultimately needed for a coin to have sustained relevance...a committed, friendly, determined coin family, that post helpful, and fun comments.

We are lucky! In the sea of alt clones, how does a coin compete with big players, big dev teams, 'bigcoin'?? (tm...joke) well, firstly you need innovation. You need to add, to contribute, to offer an improvement. And secondly you need a coin thread family.

We are lucky! Cinni has encrypted messaging! That is awesome! Cinni has a wallet that merchants can use. Awesome! Cinni has a cool and interesting name that doesnt end with 'coin'. And if we get through this hump and some talented devs achieve anon, decentralized, coin transfers with a clean solution, not requiring collateral deterants, master nodes or complex mathematics, well i will buy a hand rolled cigar, some 12 yr scotch and salute the stars.

A loooong rant i know, but from this moment forwards lets be helpful, kind, productive, creative and fun. And if you need to swear, scream, please dont use this thread.

Maybe if our coin was called "METALCOIN" that would be a good desgin - but there is just nothing there that is proffesional neither pays tribute to the coin.

I say have a re-vote on this thread since many didn't even see all the coins.

I would say stick with the old design. - Give the guy his 300$ - but please - for the love of god DONT USE THAT LOGO.
Every coin is made of metal. Othervise we would have coins of plastic ans wood in the real world.
What if Cinni some day goes live? Then we should make plastic coins?
And i have won regullary, so i deserve to receve bounty.
Voting has ended, and devs seems that likes my logo.
Who r u to change the voting and desires of devs.
just stick to mining and trading, thats your job, as i am sticking to mine.
Leave me and the logo alone.

------
I think the original logo/font/colour is fantastic. Why is the logo still being discussed?? It wastes valuable thread conversation. Keep on point. The action plan. So new visitors see real progress - anon transactions using the msg system

The power of the media is simply amazing. If you have a good story to tell as in the case of AsiaCoin, you can use it to you advantage, if you know how. It can also destroy you if you don’t. I hope that at least a few of you are taking the time to learn a little about my background. If you have a team interested to exploit the PR angle I will be delighted to work with you. Again, it's your call. This will be the last article I am posting, as I do not want to use up your value space.

Dauphin Technology was indeed a media sensation with multiple news stories on a weekly basis for a number of years. Since the release of the DNotes article my name is now linked to a number of them.  The one below is of some significance since it verifies a number of my involvements:

Chicago Tribune
BUSINESS
Ibm To Make Pen-based Pc For Lombard Firm
May 20, 1993 - By James Coates.
•
Lombard-based Dauphin Technology Inc. has signed a $150 million deal for International Business Machines Corp. to manufacture a pen-based miniature computer that will run Microsoft Windows programs on an Intel 486 chip. The companies emphasized Wednesday that the new machine, called DTR-1 and about the size of a book, is "first of its kind to hit the market"-the smallest computer yet to offer full-blown 486 microprocessor performance.

Dauphin and IBM executives said Wednesday that they will start shipping the machines to customers Sunday.
Dauphin, which has recorded flat earnings recently, came into prominence in 1991 by winning a $400 million contract to supply laptop computers to the Pentagon.

Company President Alan Yong said he will introduce the new machine Monday at the COMDEX computer show in Atlanta, where 75,000 participants will gather next week. Yong believes that being the first to market a subnotebook pen-based device will result in a dramatic improvement in his company's earnings picture.

While industry analysts emphasize that it remains to be seen whether pen-based computers will become as popular as Yong hopes, the IBM deal puts Dauphin ahead of such industry giants as Tandy Corp., Apple Computer Inc. and Motorola Inc., all of which have announced plans for pen-based computers.

Dauphin had sales of $24 million in 1992, almost all of them from its Pentagon contract. But earnings for the last quarter were just $111,739, making the success of the DTR-1 project crucial to the company's future. The IBM/Dauphin contract, signed Feb. 22, also is important to IBM, according to executives there. The deal, they said, marks a major move by the world's biggest computer company to improve its fortunes by using underutilized factories to make hardware for other computer companies.

Lynn Denton, an IBM spokesman involved with the Dauphin project at IBM's Austin Industrial Business Center in Texas, said the deal marks the largest agreement to manufacture computers for a competitor at the Austin factory, which employs 3,500 people and makes IBM's PS/1, PS/2 and RISC System lines.

So now that AC is back, I have been wrestling with what to do with my coins. I see the pumps, I see the dumps, and I know that the 'smart' thing to do would be to get out, to cash in, to ride the waves, who gives a fuck about the coin...but so far I simply do nothing.

We fixed the coin precisely to give people the choice.. instead of having the choice made for them by a scammer..

However making the right choice is non trivial.. especially in this crazy alt coin market.  I cannot recommend you to buy or sell this coin, I don't know..

All we can do is be transparent as possible right now.. I'm still working on the code to improve the base coin code.  (check my progress here: https://github.com/micryon/asiacoin-bc).  It is a bit of hobby for me.  Look at checkin history for other coins on github.. (very little after launch).. lot of promises.. but few checkins.

The rest of the team I feel: are pros in their respective areas.  Especially compared to many of the other teams out there.. Especially props to Maestro, he's one of the most professional minded folks in this ecosystem.  We're really lucky to have him leading the charge on AC.  (Seriously lot of clowns out there running coins, foundations, and generally doing P&D and moving onto the next coin in a week.)

However, we are starting in a difficult position (c'mon guys we basically dug this thing out of the abyss!! Smiley)...

So take that for what it's worth Smiley

Thank you so much Smiley I'm going to hold. It is probably silly, but i want this coin to do well.
Could yourself or Maestro give the community an idea of ways you think you could improve this coin?

490 Sat...wtf!?  Why do people sell at this price?

panic selling?
people lost alot of money after the scam, and i think they want some money back.... as long as you dont sell at that its kool... we all have to play our part... they will be pissed later down the line as it will sky rtocket

More than just that,  everyone is flocking to pick up dark.

Interesting.  Let me share this with you on what I have learned from others about investing. The inherent human greed and fear (panic) will always be the biggest challenges of successful investing. Some call it the “herd mentality.”  It reminds me of the “mindless Zombies.”

It is troubling to me to see so many investors loosing the little they have to begin with. That is the prevailing reason why I decided to cross the line and do what little I can to help save AsiaCoin. You all have done the most amazing job in any turnaround situation I have seen. I am pretty certain that you have the best team in the altcoin world in terms of across the board talents and skill sets, coupled with great attitude, selflessness, dedications and much more. Frankly, as an industry competitor, I am jealous. But I trust that the success of AsiaCoin will be of mutual benefits to our industry and I hope you all will join hand with us to assist and encourage more women to participate in our industry currently overwhelming dominated by men by a ratio of 19:1, or 95% (male) to 5% (female). With women controlling more the 50% of the consumer purchasing power worldwide, this niche should be taken very seriously.

The most successful investors seldom fall into the trap of “herd mentality”. One legendary investor said it best, “I fear when everyone else gets very greedy but I get very greed when everyone else gets very fearful.” I have very high hopes for AsiaCoin but that is just my personal opinion.

Dyna...quite frankly I love you, in the least creepy way possible Tongue

Thank you for your interest, your kind words, your inspiring words, your calm and engaging intellect, and your honesty.

I own a fair amount of AC. I have been mining/investing for a bit over a year, and decided to go all in on AC the night before it crashed. (the old and true wisdom of don't put your eggs in the one basket, well it is quite true) So for me, I was in the worst possible scenario.

And you're correct, the way the micryon and Maestro and all the other devs that resurrected AC was truly astonishing, not only from a practical perspective, but from a philosophical one of community, fairness, and helping out the little guy.

So now that AC is back, I have been wrestling with what to do with my coins. I see the pumps, I see the dumps, and I know that the 'smart' thing to do would be to get out, to cash in, to ride the waves, who gives a fuck about the coin...but so far I simply do nothing.

I reeeeally hope this coin does well, and not only for my own wealth, but just because it deserves to.

Please pm me with more details about your endeavors. I would like to help, or at least follow what you are doing.

FUD

Stop spreading FUD.

Darkcoin has one of the better distribution out there, and everyone knows it.

If what you're saying was even remotely true, those "mysterious holders with 10%" would have sold months ago and run away with millions, such as you got played on Asiacoin, and many people on hundred others.

This is one of the very few coins worth a look right now, and you're not fooling anyone.

Nope. Just facts.

All you are interested in is making a quick buck, and as long as dark keeps rising you will all stick your heads in the sand.

Someone needs to warn the poor new investors new to this thread.

The poor miners, getting a measly 1 or 2 coins per day if they are lucky, while evan duffield and internetape raped it for 500 coins per second, mined about 10% of all the coins that ever will be in about 8 hours, than said, 'woops, sorry about that' and changed the coin supply.

That might not matter to you. But it matters to anyone interested in fairness. A coin should have a fair launch, a fair wealth distribution. Otherwise the dev and his friends can just dump their coins and completely destroy the market whenever they want - which is what they can do to dark.

Oh and that chart your looking at...that will happen to dark. Not because dark is bad, just what happens after a pump. The smart thing to do is know that this pattern happens again and again and again, and take your profit early.

If your smart, you will sell your dark tonight, so you don't wake up tomorrow with 30 percent less value...

The only thing why you should sell now is to buy it back cheaper later - i don´t see any other reason why to sell.

It´s like playing lottery. Sell now and you maybe sit on your BTC because you are not able to buy back cheaper.
If you win you can own more DRK, if you lose you sit on your BTC.

Looks like selling now is a loose loose game Grin  I like more playing win win games

Buy the way, if you had followed the advise of AC2 you would be out of the game since 2 weeks now and you would
damm hin selling your DRK for BTC on levels like 200k

I just think new buyers who are new to this thread should know some of the facts.

I mean it's all good and well to just buy a coin that is going upwards, but i think new investors want to know which coins are scam coins.

The fair coins have a fair launch - everyone has access to mine them, everyone has a fair go.

Out of all the coins, Darkcoin was instamined at 500 coins per second for the first 8 hours!

So the dev and his friends can own like 10 % of all the coins ever! Its great that the price is rising and all, but yeah, new investors be careful.

All of the coins out their with scam instamines always end up with the dev and his friends dumping them and leaving new investors with huge losses.

Be careful hey...

What happens to the drk network when some masternode servers get hacked? If anyone can run them, do we all just trust that the individual's pc's have adequate protection??

I think DDOS attacks on the masternodes will be a big issue.

Absolutely! The network relies on masternodes being safe, secure, and online. When these get hacked the dark network could be in lots of trouble Sad

NEW BUYERS BEWARE! YOU ARE VICTIMS OF A HUGE DUMP COMING YOUR WAY!
THIS COIN IS A SCAM! HUGE HUGE HUGE SCAM!

DO YOU KNOW WHAT INSTAMINE MEANS?

Darkcoin
derived from Quark
type of algorithm: blake, bmw, groestl, keccak, jh, stein
PoW and PoS
The following data and time stamps were collected from the Darkcoin blockchain 32).

Block 1: 2014-01-19 Time: 3:54:41
Block 1000 : 2014-01-19 Time: 4:33:39
Block 2000: 2014-01-19 Time: 06:25:47
Block 3000: 2014-01-19 Time: 09:10:16
Block 3250: 2014-01-19 Time: 11:22:11
Looking at this data, we see that Darkcoin was mined with 500 DRK generated per block from the get go. From block 1 to at least block 3250, according to their blockchain, they were still producing 500 coins each block. The transition from 500 to 277 coins per block occurs between 3250 and 3500 but this author did not see the necessity of getting the exact moment of halving. Simple math shows that 3250 blocks multiplied by 500 coins a block is 1,625,000 Darkcoins created between the times of 3:54 and 11:22 on January 19th, 2014. As of today there are around 4,300,000 DRK in existence, making this a pretty hefty instamine. The Darkcoin website expects around 22,000,000 DRK to be created. That means in less than 8 hours, almost 5% of the Darkcoins that ever will be created spawned in that 1/3 of a day.

almost 5% of the Darkcoins that ever will be created spawned in that 1/3 of a day.

almost 5% of the Darkcoins that ever will be created spawned in that 1/3 of a day.

almost 5% of the Darkcoins that ever will be created spawned in that 1/3 of a day.

ac2, are you from the same litter as 'ymer'?

He's a yappy little gobshite teacup chihuahua who just loves jumping up at our ankles and yapping as loud as he can too.... YAP!!! YAP!!

Unfortunately for him and you (or is that you and you?) all your actions are now utterly pointless. We are way past the point of sad little fucktards being able to sway clueless punters with your kindergarten antics. All your doing is pushing up the page count, which in turn generates more interest. I know your not interested in the history of the coin, so all I'll say is "carry on yapping!".

In fact, I think we should have a caption competition so we can all rejoice in your imbecillic, immature, fuck-nuggetry.

http://unreasonablydangerousonionrings.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/43aae-chihuahuabarking.jpg

So, just what Is ac2 / ymer gobbing off about in this pic?
Maybe we should have a mini DRK kitty as a prize for the funniest caption?

Hello honest Tim,
What a name...honesty is hard to come by. Do you value honesty Tim?
ATTENTION NEW BUYERS
(1) The total number of darkcoins that ever will be is less than 22 million.
(2) 2.2 million darkcoins were mined IN THE FIRST 24HRS!!!
(3) YEP, 2.2 MILLION. When this coin launched, there was NO windows wallet available. Only linux. For the first 12 hours there was only 10 people mining this coin.
(4) How many coins does your mining rig generate for you now? With 3 or 4 gpu's, or multipooling, you might get 1, maybe 2 coins per day?
Well....Evan Duffield, internetape, and their closed circle friends were mining 500 COINS PER SECOND!

500 COINS PER SECOND

Honest Tim, this coin is tainted...permanently.
Yes, the technology is cool. Well, not super cool. x11 is just a hashed together use of 11 different functions. The reason your rig runs cooler is because this algo is less efficient.
Dark gravity wave is cool, kudos.
Darksend....well, what do we think about darksend? It starts with the assumption that if we make it too expensive to hack, then the bad guys will leave us alone...False assumption. All this does is gives the illusion of safety, whilst the NSA or any adversary buys up all the darks and knows the vast majority of transactions.

And relying on the community to set up master nodes correctly? HAHA This is going to be hacked so fucking quickly! It is too subjective, assuming that the individual has adequate protection on their server.

And do you have competition?
Well yes, yes you do.
Zerocoin - not that flash. But don't underestimate the team behind this...
Darkwallet - huge competitor...open sourced, so anyone can keep a range of coins in darkwallets...
Monero - huge competitor...using ring signatures, so there is no trust, no vulnerability, proven technology.
Darkclones - don't underestimate this! You must open source to get any credibility, and as soon as you do, clones with much more experience in marketing will smash you.

What do you have? Evan Duffield. A smart but impulsive dev, working virtually alone.

Darkcoins are way overpriced. Don't hang onto them for too long...

As soon as Evan admits defeat, what will he and internetape do with those 2 million coins they instamined on day 1 that none of you seem to mind? Dump them. and bam, you all lose.

BUYER BEWARE!
