Trading doesn't seem to be working right now. It's alright I'm probably better off with buy and hold anyway.

(by the way, where's kiba's cartoon? am i admitting either my denseness or lack of touch with what today's internet culture considers funny if i say that i never got really understood it? i always felt like it was perhaps missing the final frame.)

I'll just leave this here http://bitcoinweekly.com/articles/comic-reaction-after-dramatic-rise-of-bitcoin-s-value

I can tell you that the google trends for the last year looks surprisingly similar to the difficulty charts and price charts we've been seeing. Strong correlation http://goo.gl/tV0FT

use geometric mean of high and low

sqrt(high*low)

pretty common and about as 'fair' of a rate you're going to get. I think many merchants sell in another currency and accept btc as payment given market prices.

It's still bullish/sideways in the mid term IMO, take a look at the 1day charts and the rsi. We may see an influx of cash tuesday when all the dwolla transactions clear (like i'm waiting for mine to) but that's speculation.

It's a challenge to the Tor network. Let's see how it holds up to the Feds. In the short run it should increase traffic to the site and in otc  Grin

If mybitcoin.com added a mobile web wallet feature with a qr reader to get and send addresses they would do quite well IMO. That would work for iphone and android devices also

My sincere apologies-- ClearCoin's bitcoin process decided to crash
just before I got on a long airplane ride.

The issue is fixed; I'll be working hard to make it, and ClearCoin, more robust.

Re: Dwolla

I am very frustrated with the slow motion process of getting money into dwolla. They say it takes 2-3 business days, but it's more like 5 to 7 for me.  There has to be a better way.

Yeah... No $hit... I was trying to buy $500 worth of btc this past week and nobody would sell to me because of paypal... Dwolla took their sweet ass time confirming my account and now I'm on day 3 of pending money being added to my account.

It takes forever but that isn't really dwolla's fault, it is related to the us banking system. I would think dwolla should take credit card transactions though, that is a downfall.

Re: Dual 5870s

I want to run two 5870s for bitcoin mining (since 5970s are literally impossible to find).

The question I have is this: do I need to crossfire in order to take full advantage of them?  I know for sure that my board (an M4A87TD EVO from Asus with Athlon II X4 CPU) will bottleneck because it only has one PCIe 2.0x16, the other is 2.0x4.  If I have to I'll shell out for a new board, but I'd like to keep costs down until I start pulling in some cash with this machine.

Best to xfire or youll have to use dummy plugs, doesnt use much bandwidth though so x4 slot is fine (people are using the x1 slots fine too Smiley )

Yea, I just ordered one of these. http://www.9mart.com/products/2-Lots-PCI-Express-Card-Extender-Cable-PCI%252dE-1X-Riser-Adapter.html

We'll see if it works, I've seen pics of others using these with vga dummy plugs. I also picked up some 100 ohm resistors from radio shack to make the plugs.

it probably just means that ppl with sandy bridge chips can actually mine without being like other CPU miners. (if there are any left)
