Now if there was only a way to lower power draw...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1z4saNLjPg - 3070 Ti is hungry

T-Rex 0.22.1

* (ethash) Add partial LHR unlock functionality for 30xx cards. Refer to https://github.com/trexminer/T-Rex/blob/master/LHR.md for more details.
* Add firopow algorithm for upcoming FIRO hard fork.
* (kawpow) Add CPU share validation functionality for all progpow-like algorithms
* Add compatibility with CentOS 7

Bug fixes:
* (octopus) CFX mining is broken in 0.22.0
* (autolykos2) CPU share validation is broken
* Switching to failover pools takes too long
* Stability fixes

Re: GMiner v2.67 Ethash(LHR unlock)/KAWPOW/Equihash/CuckooCycle
by

Should the power draw be highly volatile... jumping up and down every couple of seconds?

GMiner v2.67 available for download

v2.67
+ partial LHR cards unlock without additional power consumption
+ use --lhr 1 to force enable unlock for RTX 3060 V1
+ use --lhr_tune1/lhr_tune2 to tune unlock parameters, positive values increase performance, negative values decrease probability of lock
+ miner requires latest Nvidia drivers(470+), to update Nvidia drivers under Hive OS run "nvidia-driver-update" command in terminal

Ethash fee is 0.65%
KAWPOW fee is 1%

Not quite correct.
Most reasonably priced laptops are already sold out and prices are going up.

Where I live 3060 12gb are being sold for 1000 usd, 3 x more than msrp, insane, whoever are buying them will regret.

There are two types of buyers these days.

1. Wanna-be-rich ones as in every bull run.

2. Old miners replacing older GPUs with newer... after selling the old ones.

I did buy a few considerably more expensive GPUs lately ... after selling the 10xx and 20xx series for about the same price

You should be able to get some more with slight core oc:

And ETHash should burn less power.

At some point you guys stopped reading... The OP will not put 12 GPUs. He only wants 4
RM850x for example is enough. RM1000x is better and more expensive.

Now ... about the rest of the parts.

SSD 120GB minimum, 240GB is better and price difference is minimal
RAM 4GB is enough, 8GB is better and the price difference is minimal
MOBO do you plan adding more cards? If not, just buy a 4-5 slots one
CPU please please please do not buy Celeron. For $20-30 you can get a Pentium

Out of all this stuff, the PSU will be the most expensive part.

On a laptop? Yeah right!

Take a look at this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC3f-5Agdpc
From the comments:
Quote
Power is 88 without screen and 95 with screen on.

The laptop power adapter has to supply enough power for the laptop to work AND the battery to charge at the same time.

180W adapter does not mean the laptop will use it.
A graphic card can draw high watts power at lower hashrates without any tweaking, on my 1660super it draws 120 watts trying to mine Ethereum @ 20MH per second until I lower the core voltage and the power limit down to 62% then power draw is back to 80watts

No idea about the one linked in the first post... the one I linked a few posts up is the one I use and downloaded when it first came out.

Re: How much time will a laptop last? RTX 3060
by
aclass
on 12/02/2021, 05:03:45 UTC
But ofc laptops put more heat when you use BOTH CPU and GPU. And while gaming you use GPU's core as well and it need more power than just the memory.

I have some friends in a laptop repair shop and they told me most of the times a "gaming" laptop comes, it's the GPU's fault. The thing is that when gaming or just using the laptop, the vent entrances, which are at the bottom, get blocked or limited so temps rise a huge lot more.

If anybody has a laptop with mining capable GPU, would you please do a quick test to see temps while gaming and while mining with the laptop in a hut-like position.

I think mining stress is less than gaming as you don't use CPU for mining. The only downside is that it's 24/7.
