The idea isn't to build something that is fancier than it needs to be. But the idea is to innovate and keep pesky asics off the network in a way that shows everyone the dero team's technical ability. If making a new algo for each block is unreasonable/crazy then the team doesn't need to spend months banging their head up against the wall trying something they cant make happen. But if we can differentiate dero, before smart contracts are launched, from other cryptonote coins that says a lot about the Captains ability to make new tech. He has already proved he has insane ability. Re-writing a protocol in a new language from scratch is not easy. But if he can make a new protocol before smart contracts, at that point I would need to sell the farm to go all-in.

I can bet many feel the same like you and captain is awesome. His team blockchain and cryptographic skills are amazing. He may be next blockchain expert with complete understanding on subject matter. I believe someone discussed captain has worked on cryptographic projects in mid 2000s. We are accepting and acknowledging their expertise. But like many other I would like to see smart contract on cryptonote protocol. Smart contracts will be real breakthrough not any asic resist pow change.

While I do agree that DERO would be seen as a trailblazer for coming up with a truly ASIC-proof algo, I also agree with @cpmcgrat that this would be a major distraction versus pursuing smart/private contracts. Also it would invalidate all the work that CaptDero just did on rewriting DERO in golang, and I rather suspect that would be difficult for him to toss out. Hence I still think that either going with CryptoNight Heavy or following Monero's lead are the least-risky courses to choose from.
I am dero supporter from first and want to see smart contracts first. No time waste on POW just do some asic resistance now.
I agree with this message and this has made me change my mind. While asic resistance is cool, it will not grow Dero in the way that smart contracts that are anonymous will. I think staying on the current version of the protocol is fine because asics will keep the network secured. Devote development time to creating the virtual machine on top of the blockchain. That will create much more demand for this coin than any new flashy algo because the virtual machine is Dero's utility.

We are ready to upgrade but it would be great if we can increase network security and decrease impact on environment. There is nothing wrong in discussion.

The asics coming to market is DERO's chance to absolutely steal the spotlight from all the other anon coins. Sure everyone has forked/cloned cryptoknight and tweaked it to make cryptoknight heavy/ cryptoknight lite, but I don't see many people actually innovating in a way that keeps the asics at bay once and for all.

Also this algorithm shouldn't be unnecessarily fancy, it should just be an algorithm that can keep the asics at bay FOREVER. Designing this kind of algorithm will cause massive interest in dero because of the technical feat that it was to create. Most crypto dev teams aren't skilled enough to create something like this so it will really make dero shine in comparison to its competition. Then when the virtual machine is dropped on top of a network with its own super unique algorithm that has utility, everyone will sing dero's praise from the bears on the mountain top to the bees in the valley.

This is the strictest airdrop I've ever seen, but I really like the idea of this project, especially 3-rounds of puppet and fake account filtering, because it forces participants to understand this coin carefully before they step out of the first step.

You may only have positive things to say, but a more thoughtful post would have made me want to give you merit, or make me think you would get a stake in Nevra.

1) We will not be dividing the rounds into 10 rounds of distribution, the amount of work to filter that many puppet accounts would be extraordinary, and along with promotions via Twitter and Facebook. There would be a great boost in popularity, but at a heavy expense on the integrity of this entire coin.

1). Mobile site needs optimizing, it looks horrible on iOS. I understand this is low priority but a few tweaks here would go a long way in terms of branding & image.

Hum, this is interesting project really, never seen an airdrop distribution like this one, there's nothing that I love more than projects that are 100% fair and transparent, I gave the twitter account a follow will be interesting to see the developments on this one. And yeah it's pretty hard to find interested AND invested members on this forum if they see "Airdrop" in the thread title they all go all crazy with their spammy comments "good airdrop", "solid project", etc etc, looking like they really like the coins when all they want is receive the tokens to dump them at the first chance they get for some quick bucks, pretty sad but yeah it's what happens here.

All you have to know about Nevra is that tk808 runs it, he has never scammed and in fact calls out scammers regularly. He's trustworthy and operates with integrity, and he isn't asking for funds which is a very good sign. Startups don't just ask for cash before a product, they give their staff shares in the company to incentivize them to work, then they raise capital to take their idea or product bigger after they have a working idea and a proven market or product. He has other people that he works with because he obviously can't run a currency by himself.
Regarding your comment on people spamming the thread, we have people here who are only here to get airdrops too and will probably dump the second it hits a market. The difference here is that work has to be put in to get the money. I like that effort has to be put into a post to get currency. You work, you get paid

MARKET PROBLEM
Currently, trading in the financial markets must go through brokerage firms, from stocks, bonds to currencies or commodities. The operation of these firms/platforms costs a lot of money in infrastructures, operating, selling and other expenses. These costs are charged to traders on each trading volume of their transaction, under different names as spread, swap, commission, tax, etc.
Not to mention that there is a lack of transparency as brokerages can provide inaccurate prices, change spread or take opposite sides of traders trades. These not only reduce traders trust but also hurt them and have negative impacts on theirs trading performance.
NAMI SOLUTION
Blockchain is a technology that stores and transmits information by blocks that are interconnected and extended overtime, called blockchain. Each block contains information on initialization time and is associated with the previous blocks. Blockchain is designed so that data can not be altered. The information in the blockchain can not be changed and only be added with the consent of all the nodes in the system. Even if a part of the blockchain system collapses, other computers and nodes will continue to work to protect the information.
In particular, blockchain is capable of transmitting data without requiring intermediaries to confirm the information. The blockchain system consists of several independent nodes capable of authenticating information without requiring a sign of trust. Basically, blockchain is a sequence of computers that all have to approve a transaction before it can be validated and recorded. Just like sending a box, not a lawyer or a bank but every will confirm that the box is yours.
Blockchain will be the ledger to record all transactions of investors. This data is constantly being updated and maintained by peer-to-peer computer network around the world.
In addition, nami.trade uses Smart Contract technology a decentralized application based in dispersed blocks of blockchain. The basic idea behind a smart contract is that transactions between two or more relating parties can be verified through blockchain, instead of a centralized program like traditional brokers.
Picture that, in order to ensure the security of a contract, we will need legal experts to compile and third parties to help implement it, in traditional ways. Moreover, if any problems with the contract, we will need to base on judicial system to solve it, which is time-consuming and costly.
Whereas, smart contract of nami.trade is executed on Ethereums blockchain network, which specifies the terms of the deal and penalties in the event of breach. Smart contract can not be modified by any object, once deployed. Therefore, its ensures the safety and transparency in all transactions of investors on nami.trade.
To go through this point, we need, first of all, to understand why traditional brokers have spread, swap and commission.
First, it is easily observed that it costs a lot of expensed for a broker to come to operation: sales, marketing, infrastructure, etc. These expense stands high as the system of traditional brokers is built on the principles of centralization. Every issue, every transaction is processed by only one organization. An organization working and operation with the principles of centralization will have to encounter with a bunch of problems, where and which lead to costs. Thus, traditional brokers apply the charges of spread, swap, commission to their customers traders, in order to cover, compensate their costs and make huge amounts of profit. After all, the fundamental purpose of any traditional broker is to gain profit.
Our purpose on creating nami.trade is to build a trading platform for community that does not serve the purpose of any individual, entity like other existing traditional brokers. Therefore, nami.trade need to have a place to liquidate all transactions of traders, certainly built from the contribution of community. We call this place NAC Pool. In addition to the side of trading with no spread, no swap, no commission and trading fees lowering 10 times compared to traditional brokers, contrubutors can put their NACs to the Pool and received their fund certificates as well. Fund certificates are a type of token that recognizes the NAC proportion that a contrubutor has put in the pool. Contrubutor benefits on the growth of NAC Pool. Contrubutors can withdraw NAC corresponding to the NAC proportion in their fund certificates.
There will be a small fee of trading charged to traders to maintain the system and operation, and this is called revenue of nami.trade. This revenue will be divided into 3 parts, 50% is for Token Crowdfunding contributors, 40% is added to the NAC Pool for its development and only 10% remaining is used for operation and community building. We create a community where everyone has their own interests. Traders can trade with no spread, no swap, no commission, lower fees create high profit. The operation of these firms/platforms costs a lot of money in infrastructures, operating, selling and other expenses. In particular, blockchain is capable of transmitting data without requiring intermediaries to confirm the information. The blockchain system consists of several independent nodes capable of authenticating information without requiring a sign of trust. Basically, blockchain is a sequence of computers that all have to approve a transaction before it can be validated and recorded. Just like sending a box, not a lawyer or a bank but every will confirm that the box is yours.
Blockchain will be the ledger to record all transactions of investors. This data is constantly being updated and maintained by peer-to-peer computer network around the world.
In addition, nami.trade uses Smart Contract technology a decentralized application based in dispersed blocks of blockchain. The basic idea behind a smart contract is that transactions between two or more relating parties can be verified through blockchain, instead of a centralized program like traditional brokers.
Picture that, in order to ensure the security of a contract, we will need legal experts to compile and third parties to help implement it, in traditional ways. Moreover, if any problems with the contract, we will need to base on judicial system to solve it, which is time-consuming and costly.
Whereas, smart contract of nami.trade is executed on Ethereums blockchain network, which specifies the terms of the deal and penalties in the event of breach. Smart contract can not be modified by any object, once deployed. Therefore, its ensures the safety and transparency in all transactions of investors on nami.trade.
To go through this point, we need, first of all, to understand why traditional brokers have spread, swap and commission.
First, it is easily observed that it costs a lot of expensed for a broker to come to operation: sales, marketing, infrastructure, etc. These expense stands high as the system of traditional brokers is built on the principles of centralization. Every issue, every transaction is processed by only one organization. An organization working and operation with the principles of centralization will have to encounter with a bunch of problems, where and which lead to costs. Thus, traditional brokers apply the charges of spread, swap, commission to their customers traders, in order to cover, compensate their costs and make huge amounts of profit. After all, the fundamental purpose of any traditional broker is to gain profit.
Our purpose on creating nami.trade is to build a trading platform for community that does not serve the purpose of any individual, entity like other existing traditional brokers. Therefore, nami.trade need to have a place to liquidate all transactions of traders, certainly built from the contribution of community. We call this place NAC Pool. In addition to the side of trading with no spread, no swap, no commission and trading fees lowering 10 times compared to traditional brokers, contrubutors can put their NACs to the Pool and received their fund certificates as well. Fund certificates are a type of token that recognizes the NAC proportion that a contrubutor has put in the pool. Contrubutor benefits on the growth of NAC Pool. Contrubutors can withdraw NAC corresponding to the NAC proportion in their fund certificates.
There will be a small fee of trading charged to traders to maintain the system and operation, and this is called revenue of nami.trade. This revenue will be divided into 3 parts, 50% is for Token Crowdfunding contributors, 40% is added to the NAC Pool for its development and only 10% remaining is used for operation and community building. We create a community where everyone has their own interests. Traders can trade with no spread, no swap, no commission, lower fees create high profit.
