Re: Would you consider buying Facebook's new AR glasses?

Unfortunately, there will always be privacy problems surrounding anything launched by Facebook. I don't trust them one tiny bit. The AR glasses too seem destined for an indefinite stay in the surplus goods warehouse.

A Human is the funniest animal in the world, when viewed from the perspective of Humans; simply because generating genuine humour requires considerable intelligence, that Humans alone possess.

And where would you go instead?

Tru dat   Tongue

Perhaps, the ICOs with Social Network construct are better placed in this regard. They need only operate a forum module/ software for this purpose, like here at Bitcointalk.

Is Telegram overrated?

Every ICO nowadays needs must display a Telegram channel, that has become the fashion. But, is it really necessary to do so?

I'm asking because I came across a newly launched ICO whose Telegram channel displays the same two posts (about their ICO) repeated daily. They have about a couple of thousand subscribers, but no engagement, barring a few stray hi's and memes.

On a few other ICO channels, I've observed bot behaviour, and admin strikedowns, but no messages regarding the token itself. Finally, even the messages that seemed relevant were all of the type that an FAQ would've clarified.

So, is it time we call the bluff on this particular social media platform?

Are your experiences different from what I've stated above?

This is a great project, but it's a bit crazy when break into the sea. And it will be difficult without the support of anyone from the government.

Blue Frontiers is cooperating with the French Polynesian government to create a Special Economic Zone in one of their lagoons.

They are also in talks with several other nations.

Good to hear that there's some Government underwriting, or otherwise supporting (through Special Economic Zone setup), this enterprise. But, doesn't that conflict.with the basic libertarian (non-government) ethos?

Re: How Much Money Can You Make on YouTube?
by

A few people do make money through YouTube videos; but there are plenty of people who don't make ANY money.

In fact, some time back, a disgruntled YouTuber went on a gun rampage, shooting in their campus cafeteria. Her grouse was that a change in algorithm dropped her earnings to nearly zero, even though there were plenty of views on her videos.

Re: Has Anyone Used Estonian E-Residency to launch an ICO?

I think that the ICO idap.io is an Estonian eResidency and Virtual Company project. All it's team members are Indians, and only one among them has an 'Estonia' designation, without reference to nationality. Their contact address is also an Estonian virtual address in Tallinn. So, in all probability, it is possible to launch an ICO via the virtual company, virtual address, and Estonian eResidency.

Re: Will Bitcoin Run On AI?
by
actuealth
on 13/07/2018, 21:59:04 UTC
Bitcoin is a proven technology based on solid, well defined technical principles and mathematical operations. If it were placed on one end of the credibility scale, then AI as presently functional would necessarily be forced on the other polar opposite end.

For, AI as currently functional is nothing other than a set of algorithms, fancied up by using terms such as 'intelligent chatbot'; and, glamourised by scare-mongering that AI is so powerful, it will take away all human jobs.

When we don't know, for the most, how the human, or the general biological Central Nervous System works; what is the basis for claiming that such and such process replicates the natural process of intelligence?!

Therefore, imho, it would be undesirable to get swayed by the AI hype, and end up diluting the perfect scientific veracity and credibility of the fully empirically robust Bitcoin.

Nowadays, even full decentralisation is not required. Supposed to speed up the transactions, and permit thousands per second, as against single digit per second for Bitcoin.

Then there are permissioned hyperledger offerings like the one by IBM, that are not decentralised.

There's also sharding, and side chains.

Very complex, this whole blockchain space.

Re: How expensive is to create your own coin/token?
by

If you are in the USA, the Regulation CrowdFunding (RegCF) exemption from the SEC would allow you to raise a million dollars, but the compliance costs (beforehand) would be 100k. There's also Reg A+, Regulation A plus, that allows you to raise tens of millions from accredited investors, and compliance for that runs into almost a full million dollars.

Then, there are legal fees, and sundry expenses. It might well run into several million dollars when you add the marketing costs, and the costs of running an almost year long road show at various Crypto events around the world.

To sum up, it's something that wouldn't agree well with the faint of heart.

Stay in school, kiddo; if not for the knowledge, then for all the soft skills you gain in school. Life is a long road, and your school days serve as sweet memories packed with solid lessons for the future.

If you miss out on this stuff, your future will be that much weaker, the foundation of your future success that much flimsier. So, make the most of your school days, knowledge wise, network wise, exploration wise, and enjoy all the fun.

There's a safety net available in school that isn't present in real life. If you rush into real life prematurely, you might get permanently weakened.

So, participate in real world activities all you want, but not at the cost of school.

Above all good content, posted regularly. Some, if not most, of your posts need to appeal to human emotions. Use hashtags judiciously on both sites.

Above all, Google the query in your original post's subject line, and you'll find a veritable treasure trove of information.

I too want Portugal to win; but, let's be realistic, at the end of the first half, Uruguay seem the stronger side by far, and they also lead 1-0.
