Re: Bitmain AntMiner U1 Tips & Tricks

Well, I ran mine with 3 ants and 2 Block Eruptors but whilst it worked, it wasn't stable. The BE's kept starting and stopping and the Ant's weren't mining at full speed.

Perhaps BFG miner hands them better but id say to avoid it to be honest., bearing in mind it would take 6.5 BE's to reach the 2GHS that 1 single overclocked Ant can create, you only need 8 Ant's to surpass the speed that 49 BE's can hash at.

gotcha!

Yeah, I'm currently selling of my BE's to use the $$ for U1s.

hey cs2000...

I'm using your instructions from several pages back.... thanks for the download.

Will this work with the older USB Erupters as well?  I have a mixed setup (49 port hub, gradually replacing old erupters with AntMiner U1s).

I did a test with 1 erupter and I don't think it was hashing with it.

I had a faulty board and it would look like this ^ for a little bit before the entire cube would cease to function (usually 1 to 6 hours later).
After I took out that board, it runs non-stop with no issues.  I don't know if you have the same issue that I did... but some food for thought I guess.

I'm running my stratum proxy on a machine that occasionally (like once every few weeks) locks up and restarts.

I am using bitminter to mine right now and would like to use their GETWORK option as a backup... would this be possible? Their address is: http://mint.bitminter.com:8332 (GBT or getwork)

I tried this to only test out the connection-

Code:
IP 192.168.1.254
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
WEB Port 8000
Primary DNS 192.168.1.1
Secondary DNS 8.8.8.8
Pool ports 8332,8332
Pool addresses: mint.bitminter.com,mint.bitminter.com

EDIT:
Nevermind... it worked.  Just took a few minutes to start up.

I'm going to set my pools like this:
StratumProxy,Direct... so that if my proxy fails, it will go directly to their getwork server.

I have an all X problem which I'm assuming is power related.

At first it was hashing away nicely for about 8 hours... then it stopped.  After restarting, and then doing a full factory reset.... it will only run for about 1 hr before stopping.

power supply is a new Corsair CX750M with nothing else plugged in.  Before I ran the cube on it... it was powering a 49 port USB erupter setup with no issues.  :/

I will bet your all xs problem is due to one flaky board.

Try running one board alone and then add back one by one to identify the offending board.

I'm doing this now. Thanks for the suggestion.  So far, 2 boards running with no problems.  I'm adding a new board every 2 hours.  I did notice when I took the boards out that a few of them had loose heat sinks.  Hopefully tightening them will solve all my issues!

I found the faulty board.  After putting in each board one at a time, I finally found one that crashed all the others.  I made sure it was the board by testing on different slots as well.  I pulled the bad board and the cube has been running at 28 gh/s all night with no issues.

I calculate my fiat debt in bitcoins.

Right now I'm 11 bitcoins away from being debt free... I am saving bitcoins as fast as possible until I can pay it off all at once.  Current projection is it will take me about 2 years from now AT THIS PRICE.

So the cool thing is that if the price goes up, my timeline goes down!

I can almost taste it! no more owing doctor bills!

You are right though... If you were to owe somebody in BTC and the price jumped, it would be tough/impossible to pay it back...... however, due to volatility, the price could crash and you could pay it off sooner, right?

Help!!!  Anybody!!

Trying to send MSC and close a deal.

The instructions to send MSC using the mastercoinadvisor executable includes sending 0.00006 btc to 3 addresses.

The Exodus and the Recipeint btc address I have, Thats fine, but I don't know where to find the Data Address? What is the Data Address?
Where can I find it?

Thanks for your help!

Stewart

The advisor should have given you 3 addresses to send to.

Please check this screenshot.. did yours look like this?

You have to start MastercoinAdvisor from a terminal window ("Command prompt") then it won't quit.

isn't funny how i'm the guy to talk to when it comes to bitcoin-stock market related stuff? LOL  Grin *right now MSC reminds me of a typical kool aid stand!

Hi Haightst,

This thread is for buying and selling MasterCoin.  I don't think you are doing either of these things.

Can you please take your general comments and musings to the overall MasterCoin project development thread?  That thread is here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265488.0

I think you would be more apt to getting the discussion you crave if you posted there.  At the moment, your posts just add to the general noise and make it more difficult for us to pick out legit buyers/sellers.

Thanks,
- everyone here

Re: The collective Mastercoin-explorer, Mastercoin-ruby and Mastercoin-wallet topic

I'm having an issue sending using the Mastercoin-explorer simple send.
I created a new thread, but I think maybe it's better suited here.

I'm trying to practice using TEST mastercoins.

Here is what I did:
  • First I opened my QT client and went to the console.
  • I validated my from address that contains mastercoins and got my public key.
  • Then I entered the info into the mastercoin explorer simple send form (using TEST mastercoins as the currency).  My "to" address is just an address that I have in my QT wallet... so I'm trying to send to myself.
  • I followed the instructions and ran the raw transaction.  This is what I come up with:
    f039df74dc453ea138d03ca463bd60ab947a27a5c62002c6e3404ba8222a77cc

The transaction appears on the blockchain... but it doesn't appear in the mastercoin-explorer.

What did I do wrong?

My next step in troubleshooting is to try again, but this time I have sent all my BTC to the address I'm sending msc from.  Not sure if that matters or not but I figure it's worth a try.
