I never had issues with Bybit until few days ago.

I can't withdraw without doing a face recognition verification for each withdraw, like what the fuck?

Actually I thought you guys are making it all up, then yesterday I try to make withdrawal and experience this crap.

I thought to my self: "huh, that's weird, but fine I guess it's one time thing"...

Nope, I have to do it for every single withdrawal. Talked to support, that was literally givng me copy/paste answers.

What bother me the most isn't the inconvenience as much as my data going to some 3rd party for sake of "verification" (KYC).

Time to move from bybit and never use those fuckers again!

I really don't see any problem with paper wallets, hot/cold wallet on a phone, a seedphrase on a USD stick. I'm not sure where you're from, and I never seen this happening, so I really can't imagine them going through your phone apps. Is that even legal? Also, is this even something you have to do? I mean declaring your bitcoin holdings regardless of the amount?

Well, in the EU you must declare everything over 10.000€.

I would say that in general it is not legal for them to go though your apps but I have seen border control programs where it does seem mandatory, or at least they can make it more difficult for you to enter the country or hold you if you don't cooperate.

I was thinking hypothetically.

I have been into security checks on a lot of countries and I don't think they never searched anything inside the phone, so I guess it's safe to carry the seeds in digital format like in a separate mobile that's never connected to internet.

Or you can create new wallet and fund the amount you needed then upload the seed in a cloud by this they will not have a clue of it.

We only responsible to disclose we're bringing physical items like gold or cash and no need to disclose about our digital assets.

Same, never heard of anyone having their phone searched at airport.

Even then, you should have your shit under password, 2FA, encryption, don't have your shit saved in a NOTE, and then a shortcut on your home screen.

What if you lose your phone, or it gets stolen, it's relatively easy to unlock it, so don't put your shit out in the open.

Thief most likely won't find something you've put in some XY folder, but will most definitely check your pictures, google drive/keep, other popular apps he can access, also will probably go after list of everything in your Authy :/

Making me think of it, does anyone have general suggestions for phone security? Maybe a kill switch? This way if your phone get seized by customs authorities or any other thief, you can just destroy it's contect instead...

Re: Has Bitcoin Finally Lost Its Decentralization?
by

on 30/08/2024, 12:29:41 UTC
Thats a question we all would like to know. Has Bitcoin been finally sold out to big businesses, corporations, investment groups and even countries??
The Pareto principle says 80% of bitcoin would belong to 20% Bitcoin owners. This principle works for many areas and cases, I believe it continues to work rightly for Bitcoin distribution too especially if we only count unlost bitcoins.

https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html
https://www.bitcoinmagazinepro.com/charts/hodl-waves/

If you use the second chart for HODL waves, and account for possible unlost bitcoins, you will see Pareto principle works.

Has Bitcoin Finally Lost It's Decentralization?
No. Its decentralization still exists, with network hash rate distribution and with Bitcoin full node distribution.

https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/mining/by-country/
https://bitnodes.io/

Let's say hypothetically that CIA is actually the creator of BTC (as per conspiracy theories), how decentralized is it if they sell their 1M+ stack to like already big holder BlackRock/Microstrategy? :/

What happens then? Is that enough of a "market share" to make things scary in freedom/decentralization aspect?

I still use Plutus, but their management has not fullfiled on any promise so far (physical cards, merch delivery), most importantly many times post-poned DEX, and it seems that whole year they haven't achieve anything, except adding stackable perks and new tier/ranks for "rewards"...

Posting this so that the retard JollyGood, can realize i will post again about my experience with plutus, becuase that's what a normal user would do, chime in from time to time on things he use, even though he doesn't post on other threads in bear cuz interest is elsewhere unlike his poor existence of addictions...

I like the project, I'd like to see it listed on binance.
This was your first post in 7 months? Most previous posts are all but one liners. There are many hallmarks of an account being farmed for future use.

Why is their App not working on Android 13 (Xiaomi 13, Sony Xperia 1 V etc.)??
This was your first post after a 2 year and 8 month gap? Do you realise Plutus have a website and they can be contacted using various channels? Instead of contacting them directly you opted to make the above post? Now we have another account that has many of the hallmarks of an account being farmed for future use.

Thankfully, Plutus have not been active in the forum since February 2022 and I hope it stays that way. As a result of what seemed to them hiring a puppeteer to use his army of sock-puppets to flood the thread with fake buzz some years ago, I personally have little to no time for them but others are welcome to conclude what they want.

I will tag the above accounts in the coming days when I have appropriate time.

I tried their APP but didn't work at the time, so I asked here, since I don't use discord, reddit and such programes...

What do you mean tag my account?

The price did jump in one day back in July, I guess it was the day with the Mastercard deal announcement but the hype died pretty fast.
I'm really surprised they haven't managed to prop up the price for it, comparing the market cap to what business revenue they claim to have.

This is usual practice in VC world, you raise money every 2-3 years. Especially if business is good as you attract bigger fish by that (big whale investors).

More resources means more growth... Doesn't mean things can't go sour though.

I have some WXT that I've got in "pre-sale" and that's still in green, barelly though.

Hopefully this "CrowdFunding" pumps WXT a bit and I cash out... I don't believe they are competitive anymore.

Also, the card is still on and off in the app, exchange fails 9 times out of 10, deposits to the card 8 out 10...nothing like this happened in the first month I've got it. Maybe their system, as well as customer support, have failed to keep pace with the number of users.

I've never had an exchange fail myself. If it's not going to work the app doesn't give me the option in the first place.

This is now the 2nd time they have stolen from me.

That's never happened to me either. I must be better liked there than you.

I don't think it's going to be pretty if there's to be another bull run. It's buggy enough in the quiet times. If there are millions of people trying to pile in or out they're going to wilt completely.

I have been using the visa card regularly (day to day purchases) for approx a year now. Only issue I had so far was with contactless paying, which is sometimes scuffed and wants you to enter PIN :/

But yeah, considering all the bs on here and reddit, I would say that in case of bull run this is going to be nasty =)

This "hack" is a great cover for an obvious exit scam (so many sketchy shit on last 30 pages of this thread, it's just hard to deny it).

The sad reality is that those few people behind Cryptopia curtains knew exactly what they were doing and this legal farce is just a smoke screen. They are getting legal advice, sure... but it's about them minimizing financial and legal exposure.

I don't wanna be that guy... but we're NEVER getting anything back Cry Cry Cry

We can only hope that karma is real and they are getting their spanking soon =P

If we look at the BTC/USD chart, we see divergence on the RSI, we see that we're oversold... Those are great trading signals, but there is more to trading than technical analysis, there is way to many factors, especially with all the manipulation and that "infamous war" =)

Sell/Buy? Honestly, it's a gamble either way imho!

Although everyone forgetting most important aspect (which isn't the price on exchanges), but the actual adoption, to lazy right now to search for link, but you can find it on google.com, but in short there is a lot more active addresses (active means on daily basis).

Today I've actually traded on tokens.net for the first time (have been member and holder for a while, just haven't been trading as much as market was lacking volatility, now I'm back =)).

Anyway, I must say that the User Experience is top notch and as developer my self with 15+ years of experience I really like what I see (beautiful utilization of jQuery lib, done very efficiently and thus such great UX feeling). All props to devs, great stuff!

Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave)
by
adrov
on 16/11/2018, 08:30:17 UTC
The final and total analysis is the one that counts from the count Elliot of OP, and he has indicated several times around 1000 $ as the final target of Bitcoin in 2020.

"Final and total" heh.. I hope you understand he didn't get this $1000 target figure from the Elliot Waves analysis.

He actually got that number by combining two sources - (a) the fact that a "typical" bubble of an ordinary asset loses about 90-95% of value (5% of 20K is 1K); and (b) he believes Bitcoin is an ordinary overvalued asset, which just got through its first serious bubble condition. If we take those two presumptions, we get the 1K target (though by some reason OP liked to talk about $500-800 target too, but that doesn't like to fit with any theory, and is probably just reflects his preferences).

However, there are many people here (including me) who do not share his point (b). That's the main reason of arguments here (your friends call it "hating" and somehow you feel a need to defend OP from the nasty "haters").

As I don't share his point (b), to me $1000 figure seems to be too low... if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again, it could be a point of no return and it could happen only in case of a extremely serious problem comparing to catastrophe (serious bug in the code, Satoshi moving his funds, quantum computing suddenly making all current cryptography useless, or similar). Based on previous bubbles, if nothing like that happens, this bear market has to end between 3K and 4K, spending the most time moving around $4K, with few short dumps to around 3K. By the way, 3.1K is where the current weekly MA200 resides, and breaking below that is highly undesirable for anyone who believes in Bitcoin's future and understands markets a little bit.

There is an interesting article published just before this last dump: https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-price-is-charting-this-death-cross-for-first-time-since-2014
This guy predicted the dump just before it actually happened. Look at parallels with 2014. If we apply them, we are now moving into the "despair" state of 2015, where we got two bottoms with about 50% of price of the state where the cross happened - so around 3K more or less.

Sorry I have no graphs to make my assumptions look more "scientific" and convincing to people who like graphs... You can draw them in you head, as I do Smiley.
No beautiful Fibonacci numbers too  Sad Wink I believe they are useful to short term traders mainly, who need exact numbers to day-trade... I prefer long-term - its far less stressful, and allows to stay cool and calm.

Well said!

I do think that if whales drop it to bellow 4k it would cause panic and even mass sell off imho. That being said, I also don't believe BTC can ever die, to much people involved, it's to late =)

Re: ETH Is going to hit 200 USD?
by

on 06/09/2018, 14:54:44 UTC
ETH is more and more near $200. It might drop more if BTC drop near $6000. We don't know when the drop is going to finish... In only 2 days of drop, it is like a drop of 2-3 weeks.
I never believed that eth could go back to 200 dollars but now, I have to accept that truth, the price of eth and bitcoin has been clearly controlled, if this situation continues, the $200 mark will be destroyed and towards the lower and lower values. Many people are no longer able to calm down and hope for this market, the dark clouds and this storm has become history of cruelty, the number of people that can survive is probably extremely low when the morning sky reappears, lost faith in this revolutionary technology

I want to believe in crypto so much, but as long we have USDT printing (minting) money out of no where just to short and manipulate BTC is beyond boring.

Also, everything is reliant of BTC... If BTC goes UP, alts slowly follow... If BTC goes DOWN, then alts drop off a cliff... Imagine google stock drop by 20%, would whole stock market react and drop by 20% as well? NOPE :

That's why Crypto is nothing but is playground / money loundering service for whales!

Re: Tokens merger Quantum
by

on 05/06/2018, 20:19:35 UTC
Dear TOKENS I have some questions

http://blog.quantumproject.org/quantum%20&%20tokens%20merger.pdf

1.Why Tokens decided to merger QUANTUM (QUA) for 1 QUA  holders will get 3,9 DTR?

2.Why DTR holders need additional 291mio DTR tokens or 19% of ICO tokens on market if DTR is deflation token?HuhHuh??
74,8 QUA is equal 291 mio DTR.

3.Who decided to sign this contract? If there will be more DTR on market the price will rise much slovley over time, when buyback will be done?

4.Can  DTR holders wote about this decision?

5.Can Tokens describe why this merger would be meaningful?

6.Can quantum  publish the address where are the funds that will be  Tokens assets after merger?

7.Where will DTR tokens come for QUA tokens from.

With answer on this questions we can say that TRANSPERENCY-SAFETY-RELIABILITY matters to Tokens.

Would be nice to get those answered .S

on 17/05/2018, 13:15:35 UTC
These people are shady AF, let me explain :S

Refunding 25% of pre-sale, hmm??? Most would say, hey that's good, they refunded you, at least you got something... right... but the way it looks they planned it this way from very beginning and there is plenty of facts to confirm my theory.

They collected most of funds, like 90% of all their funds was gathered during pre-sale, aprox. 2400 ETH. That being said, what ever marketing they purchased and legal that costed 75% of 2400 ETH... A lot of money right... The problem here is there was no marketing done, absolute 0, if you think sending few emails out and purchasing bots for telegram costs that much you're in wrong and I haven't seen anything apart from that sadly. During ICO I was watching this project very closely and I've noticed to many things that were screaming NOOO... I lost the trust in project when people confirmed they were buying bots for telegram, which is no no no in my book, you lost all my trust there already. Don't forget ETH was aprox. 900$ back then, so yeah, lot of money went somewhere .)

Anyway today I got 25.68%, which is 2.5 ETH, out of my initial 10 ETH. If just my 7.5 ETH was spent on marketing we would not have only few dozen investors during 1 month long ICO sale...

On Telegram and I've asked exactly this: "Is it possible to give some better insight or even better a 3rd party report, since you said you used 3rd party accounting / legal team etc. and that you will be fully transparent or is this no longer the case?"... That message was immediately removed, I don't know why exactly, but I guess I stepped on someones toes.

Now I'm seeing a message on telegram that they will be releasing information after refund is done, haha. No matter what they publish I don't believe those people not a tiny bit.

This could be lesson to us all, let's setup smart-contact, write whitepaper, get up a simple website running and voila we have ICO, we spend few ETH for tiny bit of exposure and MILK the cow, after we milked the cow we say we didn't reach the soft-cap and we refund 25% of funds gathered, good deal? Anyone up for it? PM me. (being sarcastic obviously, but that's sadly exactly what happened)

Are they not updating people of how/what happens from now?.... They posted daily on Twitter right up to the point of where they run out of time and then just go silent.

Would of been nice to see something from them  Huh

Yeah, posting daily on twitter for gaining credibility and gaining momentum (hype), nothing else, was pointless stuff anyway, nothing valuable... There was a lot of random emails as well of what and how they are doing this and that... Lot has been said, but not much has been done as you can see your self.

I'm sure who ever posted those tweets got paid around 100 ETH per tweet, because that's the only way I can see them spending all this ether (millions in USD value) and don't forget all this money they gathered in pre-ico, because main ICO sale was horendous and there was barely any investors (that's what happens when you spend 75% of your funds on marketing and not 100%, haha).
