interesting, I do think this could be a bit of a problem for people holding large quantitys of btc, but otherwise for most people with about 1-10 btc this would not be much of a problem (as long as they do not want to instantly withdraw all in one go), I would simply assume that you would probably only withdraw as much as you need ($0.5k-10k)for a (rather expensive) holiday.

Is there anyway I could use a different btc address for bitvisitor
and not get banned? ... I'm not sure how it all works, but I got hacked a while back, so I'm afraid my wallet got stolen as well, so I want to use another address for connecting to bitvisitor and I was wondering whether that would be OK with them...

A full update will be posted soon, don't panic. Only people with the API key enabled was compromised (and will be reimbursed), passwords are securely stored one way in the database.
Security is obviously the most important thing to a Bitcoin wallet, and it's unfortunate that a compromise occurred, and we're learning a lot from it (things that pentests won't catch).

by the way, just wondering, what are API keys? are they some special feature which allows access to our account, and how do I disable such a feature if it is ON

One of the reasons people use bitcoin or any crypto currency is to eliminate the need to trust the other party.
The use of scammer ratings and trust ratings increases the ability of people to rely on trust in their transactions.
BitcoinTalk forums should remove all references to scamming, scammers, scams, trust and the like, in order to decrease the community's ability to rely on trust, and encourage business models that are transparent and do not rely on trust.

i dunno, I mean , I'm pretty sure i had it all encrypted and all, its just I had the client on the whole time, it must;ve been on while the virus was still secretly running and all, I really didn't notice much until it was too late. I mean I'm pretty sure I remember I cut off my internet connection when scanning but I didn't double check my wallet until the morning....
woke up to find my shit all stolen just yesterday, thank god it was only just twenty or so dollars worth, but still, pretty gutted and all, anyways just warning you guys, if you ever see this particular address anywhere you'll know this guy is a thief. I woke up late about yesterday with my AV running overnight because I'd found I may have had a Trojan of some sort or something, only to find that my btc balance dropped to zero.
